Just wondering if anyone else has had a letter stating you are appointed on your child's dla case (as they are under 16) but no letter to confirm the award?

I presumed I would get a letter stating what award he has etc

We were awarded 6/6

How long has other people waited for uc backpay decision after it got sent to decision maker?

Hiya with my first son's claim it was literally done in one day where as my sister in law took two weeks I think generally depends on Ur job centre

Sharkay06 · 13/06/2024 13:15

Does anyone know know what this means I called in and was told that my claim has been assigned to a department but not a decision maker ??

Might mean new claim team or renewal or change of care.. not sure though but it's a new excuse they must be using.. 🫣

Thanks for your helpfulness and support. I phoned this morning. I checked my letter and my scan date was actually 15/02 and my daughter has been awarded middle rate care and lower mobility. Not sure what will happen universal credit wise because we only transferred in April and our dla is backdated to January when I phoned, but it’s such a relief.

@Jobeanz
My claim for UC also changed over mid way through waiting for a decision. UC will backdate the Disabled element and Carers element from when your claim for UC started. For tax credit you will be able to call them if they haven't already done a final decision on the award upto when it stopped. If they have done a final decision then you will have to write in an explain to get them to change the award from the date your DLA is backdated to when your tax credit claim ended. Don't know how long tax credits will take as I only found out myself yesterday and have yet to write to them. Hope this helps

Just called to find out where we are at with my daughters claim. The call handler was lovely he has marked our claim as a 1st (is that priority?) as it hadn't even made it's way to a DM yet. Hopefully I'll hear something soon. Does anyone else have experience of this?

Crazyhouse4 · 13/06/2024 13:48

Ljstar · 13/06/2024 12:33

i'm not sure but i'm in the same position.

I had a message from UC today to say my change of circumstances had been added correctly
and they had sent my case to a specialist team

  • wonder if that means a decision maker?

I updated uc on Friday and then Monday got a message back saying it’s now been referred to a specialist decision maker to review the backpay, so we should probably hear about the same time

Rayne20 · 13/06/2024 13:48

You inform them if awarded as they can't do anything till you have an award

@SB1994 I already had a huge argument with the school yesterday so was hoping today would be a better day but nope still fighting and arguing for my child. Sometimes wish others could see it from our point.

Sorry to hear that hun. I'm hoping things will get better for you soon ❤️ it is so hard.
I was thinking about calling dla today but what's the point, I'll probably just be fobbed off again lol

Rayne20 · 13/06/2024 13:52

I rang up yesterday they said they put my son done as priority for financial hardship. And he will be 1st also. He said can still take 28 days 😭

I was told to call in two weeks if I still haven't heard anything, this waiting game is horrible isn't it. My daughter is almost 16 so even if we are lucky enough to be awarded I'll have to do it all again with pip very soon 🤦🏼‍♀️

I think they have done a final decision cos when I called them before we owed them money and it was in the process of being transferred to universal credit so I guess I have to write. Thanks though. Do you know if I can email or if it is a snail mail address? Thanks!

I was told to send a letter to the address on the awards letters
No email address I'm afraid. I have an overpayment too with them so it should reduce what I owe them

Hey, same award date and received the same letter as you today, I’m guessing the award letter will follow this week

Mummyof6love · 13/06/2024 16:12

Hi all. Has anyone had ever got through calling now? (4.10pm) I know it says it shuts at 5 but given the length of time I’m normally on hold I don’t know if it’s worth it??

SB1994 · 13/06/2024 16:24

@Mummyof6love I rang at 4.45pm last week and got straight through

Mummyof6love · 13/06/2024 16:33

@SB1994 im on hold so here’s hoping. Feel like I’m ringing everyday lol only to be declined I’m sure.

Mummyof6love · 13/06/2024 16:47
