Same as my son, got award HRC for 2 years, I put a sleep diary as well as report from Special Needs, waiting peads, SALT report, asd acceptance, did you send in much?

I sent in 2 speech therapist reports, and report from nursery and obviously updated with his behaviour 😭. He is on waiting list to be assessed so I don’t have much proof fingers crossed it’s enough- he’s non stop (I’m sure you can relate) did you send in much? Xxx

A SALT report, a Special Needs Early Years report and assessment that says he can't communicate or speak that he needs a lot of help is compared to a 9 month old baby for his abilities, nursery acceptance letter saying he will have his own key worker there, he has he's own key worker from SNEYS, ASD acceptance letter, sleep diary, peadiatrician waiting letter, yeah I know exactly what you mean

MrsMacmumto6 · 13/06/2024 07:54

Parking! Scan date 20/3 putting off calling until I’ve reached 20 weeks (that’s how long previous applications have taken between 20-22) .. quick question if another child’s claim is due for renewal in November (I think around the 18th) when will I receive renewal forms? There’s been so many changes in the past 18 months including EHCP, special school and school transport I’ve just not done a COC out of fear it’ll all be taken away and I have to appeal

That’s the thing I have 0 reports (other than speech) just confirmation texts of all referrals- LEAP x2 referrals. OT, dietrician, ASD assessment- just no reports as it hadn’t been done! so hard, I’ll do a sleep diary, last night he had a major meltdown at 1am cuz he wanted to sleep downstairs! Very tiring xx

It’s usually now they will or should already of sent you out a claim pack it’s 5 months before your award is due to end that renewals are sent out I would ring them and see what’s going on in a bout a week or 2 if you still haven’t had a renenwal form sent out xx

Thank you I’ll give them a call today just to check as we go away in 10 days for 2 weeks and I’d rather tackle it as soon as it arrives as I’m the type to put it down and forget about it xx

Garfield456 · 13/06/2024 08:55

Im debating ringing up again, in the hope a decision has been made, apparently it went to a dm last week( also been told it didnt so who knows).

Hiya all I've been reading everyone's posts my scan date is 8/03/24 I've just rang and was told I'm looking at about august for a decision where last week I was told that nearly all go to a decision maker around 15 weeks and expect a decision between 16/17 weeks I'm sure it depends who u get on the phone it's ridiculous

I think it depends on the DM some work through their case loads much quicker others take ages my friends took exactly 15 weeks from when she called for the forms to be awarded my sons claim took 17 weeks I’m not hopeful of this one tho , it seems some work so quickly and others take months or weeks at 15 weeks I think the DM gets your claim and then it just depends weather your at the top of their pile or the bottom and how quickly they get through it the call handler’s don’t have much clue if I’m honest x

My other son's claim took 18 weeks and I was beyond greatful for his award but I just have a feeling this time for my son is going to get knocked back yet I have sent in a lot more evidence and I now have an official diagnosis of ADHD aswell I'm trying to just stay patient and hope for the best I seen someone with a march scan date was awarded so there is hope xx

Carly1931 · 13/06/2024 10:36

Woo hoo mine got refused!! Poor child has a speech delay. No sense of danger. Doesn’t sleep, has regular meltdowns. Won’t take herself to toilet on her own. Still in nappies at night. Wakes up most nights. Doesn’t sleep until 11pm. On the autism pathway. Sick of fighting a shitty system for my child 🥲

Hopefully he will hun I genuinely think it all depended on how u fill the form in and how much detail you go into I am hopeful you will get awarded ❤️ i on the other hand very much doubt it for my girl she masks so much High traipse of adhd and autism awaiting ASD referal for assessment and adhd referal at age 6 she’s only 5 but I literally have no evidence just that school are supportive of my application and filled in the someone who knows the child part and I have no evidence accept a speech and language report and a letter from school to say she’s behind and is getting 1-1 support but she isn’t violent at school but at home she is so violent does not sleep and I mean does not sleep like between 1-2 hours a night per night is all she has it’s a constant battle and meltdowns are horrendous and last for hours she destroys furniture hits bites ,, she split her head open a few years ago from the dangerous climbing she does and badly burnt her self with food on another ovation and required hospital treatment again she just can not pay attention or listen and has no sense of directions or dangers I have to watch her like a hawk at all times 😩😩 she will literally go off with strangers and run out in to roads and try to escape the house or dangle out of fire windows and the housing have said I can not attach locks to these windows and they can’t do it for me either as it’s health and safety !!! I can not leave her alone at all but I personally think with ur diagnosis u have a stronger case and more chance of being awarded I wouldn’t worry too much if you got it last time without a diagnosis 🤞 for you ❤️❤️

I didn’t have no evidence. Because none of these services ever provide me with anything. I’m currently on the chase for all these missing letters. This is my first time ever applying. Should have been a bit more wise 😩

My first son is 13 and I didn't send 1 piece of evidence and was awarded HRC and lrm for autism and ADHD still awaiting diagnosis we have a lot of school input so I'm not sure if they contacted school .....but it's hope that you can get it without lettered evidence at the end of the day we know them best don't we and like u said it's the form isn't it I really hope everyone gets what they're children deserve this life is hard enough for them isn't it

Oh sorry to hear that.. and thank you.. my neighbour done my sons first one and they never contacted her he was awarded hrc he's due for renewal September he's now diagnosed but a lot more work to handle but hopefully this time it's not as hard to fill forms out.. hower the new claim for other son is same he's not diagnosed and only little info but time will tell.. I hope this gives you a bit more hope for your outcome ☺️

Thanks for your helpfulness and support. I phoned this morning. I checked my letter and my scan date was actually 15/02 and my daughter has been awarded middle rate care and lower mobility. Not sure what will happen universal credit wise because we only transferred in April and our dla is backdated to January when I phoned, but it’s such a relief.
