Hi hun no I don’t mind you asking at all I get HRC for him but I have appealed mobility for him under SMI and he has episodes of refusal to walk too a lot of the time as this can be awarded from age 3 my son turned 3 literally 3 days after we was awarded only 2 when we applied I think it what helped with HRC is the extreme violence at home and school towards staff and other children and he literally can not be left unsupervised even at night because he does dangerous and unpredictable things attacks myself and his siblings and doesn’t sleep tries to escape the home no sense of danger or awareness I’m lucky if I get between an hour to 2 hours sleep a night per night I think with the evidence you have got you shouldn’t worry I’m more worried about my 5 year olds claim she’s suspected asd and adhd but masks so much in school she has been observed by senco and refered for asd assessment and adhd at age 6 but apart from getting extra help in lessons as she’s behind and support with concentrating and listening and requiring ear defenders theirs not much evidence at all with her but at home she is so impulsive and violent too & doesn’t sleep either even fallen asleep in school on occasions because she is that tired from months and months of lack of sleep x

Why they gotta be so cryptic!

zoeybrooks45 · 19/06/2024 12:41

Congrats to all those awarded! However there seems to be pot of luck what rate you get. Some send minimal evidence and get HRC others a lot and MRC. I really want to know how they make decisions. I think it must depend on DM mood that day lol. I know a lot of DM have targets to meet and refuse. It’s a job I will never have the emotional capacity to do.

Ok I didn’t know about the SMI my son refuses to walk a lot of the time in which I have to carry him (my shoulders are so bad 😭) good luck to you hopefully they’ll understand how hard it is.
That sounds so hard hun, my son gets violent during meltdowns (maybe 1 a day) will scratch but he thinks and kind of stops before he does it so I think that’s a good sign. He luckily doesn’t wake more than once but will wake- get in my bed and up at 4.30am. You must be so tired I’m so sorry you’re going through it- remember they grow and change and hopefully he’ll sleep soon. Communication is the biggest concern with my son, he’s completely non verbal can’t even say mama- he also has extreme seperation anxiety and I cant even leave him with my mum/ husband. Won’t have hair cut, won’t eat anything other than 4 things, won’t stay in car seat, head banging etc etc. luckily we have extreme violence and sleep on our side at the moment. Keep us updated with your appeal and good luck again ❤️

Lion10 · 19/06/2024 12:48

I've just informed UC and they said it'll go to a DM because it's classed as a late report if change, anyone else get told this?

Told them I didn't know he was awarded until today so not alot I could of done🤦🏻

TwinklyFox · 19/06/2024 12:48

Hi
Called today about where to send extra evidence scan date 9th april they told me it's with a decision maker currently but no decision been made yet. Does anyone know how long on average this will take?
Also is it worth sending in extra evidence to support evidence already sent as its with decision maker?

Tinxy · 19/06/2024 12:50

Fingers crossed🤞 for everyone ringing today. I am just wondering if I put in an Mr do they look at the whole claim again or can they just look at the mobility side of it? I don't suppose anyone knows.

Seen posts saying that they can change the original decision, so could get nothing etc. think it can go both ways

sayasand · 19/06/2024 12:52

For reference, just called the 1523 way and got picked up in 10 minutes. Not bad wait times today 🙂

Hope everyone gets their answers soon!

@Christyyyy i know! Shouldn't have rang, wish i hadn't! I'm only 15 weeks in, so should have known they wouldn't tell me much!

Oh bless you hun yeah my son is similar he can say things but not in context and has no meaning or understanding of what he has said more learnt and copied words from the tv can’t hold a conversation or anything and yeah he bites hits kicks and head bangs and head buts he is the same in school I have a 1 year old as well who he attacks regularly that’s why he can not be left alone or unsupervised at any time I think you would likely get MRC from what you have said unless it takes 20 minutes or longer to settle him at night once he has woke up it is usually regular intervals throughout the day and the night or regular intervals through the day and once through the night for longer then 20 minutes that qualifies HRC ,, MRC is regular intervals through just the day or just the night and LRC is usually requires a little bit of support more like medications throughout the day once or twice and prompting and assistance or help with this but it doesn’t take a substantial amount of effort or time ,,, I wouldn’t worry too much about your claim from the evidence u provided he will definitely get an award I think MRC an yes it’s so stressful and hard I think the communication plays a big part in it as he can not communicate his needs or wants at all which causes most of the meltdowns xx

@Emma2345 have you submitted an Mr for smi x or are you waiting for tribunal? X

Mhow · 19/06/2024 13:04

@Emma2345 yes 100% he gets so frustrated, even when we understand what he wants but he can’t have it (trampoline at 9pm) he has a full blown scream. I dread school pick up for my eldest daily as he runs wild and can’t stand still lol. Takes alot longer than 20 minutes to settle him- that’s with me on bed, eldest son with him too - he has to have his poor brother there for intial bedtime 🥹. He’s very hard work. We’ll see 🤞🏼 thanks hun- nice to know we’re not alone x

Mhow · 19/06/2024 13:08

MotherAndDSon · 19/06/2024 13:09

Hi, ladies 💐 still here. Freaking out here and can blame only them for doing this to my mental health. Just call them again on 523.. And lady after doing some check ups said she can see note have been left from or for Blackpool who's dealing with my sons claim yesterday. That's the problem with me when stressing out can't 100% focus on words and then sitting and overthinking. Anyways she gave me Blackpool contact phone number where I should call to chase for decision. Now I'm freaking out here as I don't have courage to call. It means decision has been made or will be now any day and I just need to call to find this out. Or maybe it's declined after all and that's why no one comes back with it.. I can't.. literally sitting here and shaking and trying to find that courage to give a call them. It's interesting that no one before has never given me their contact number to reach out to them directly...

My scan date is 20/3 so I'm still in shock, he was awarded on monday so back pay due by friday!

Whoever I spoke to last week wasn't fobbing me off, it was actually with a DM .

I'm not priority, just a normal new first time claim xx

Omg congratulations 🎊 👏🏻 💐

I'm 22/3 now feeling Anxious 😟 Don't know if I should call cos I'm too scared 😅
