When my son was awarded low rate care I did the MR immediately on the phone. I explained his night needs are greater, needs more supervision in nights than the additional day care. He has regular panic attacks and takes ages to settle each time. I think he's still too young for medication and the doc agrees.
I didn't actually send any extra forms I asked them to refer to his original form and the level of night needs. I heard back eight weeks later and he'd been awarded HRC thankfully. We didn't even know about DLA so he's only had it since thirteen, but it's already made a huge difference for him. Fight for what your child needs, half of it is the sheer volume of applications, I think they speed through some without looking sometimes. The responses vary too much on here for similar needs!
