Thanks @Fee89 that is reassuring, I think that the current Political rhetoric particularly aimed at Disabled Persons is increasing anxieties. I’ve worked for the NHS FOR 26yrs in Community Mental Health Teams and now for Primary Care, and have a child with additional needs. professionally and personally I see every day how crippling Mental Health issues are, and seeing everyday Rishi Sunak hitting the headlines with such damning statements is pretty frightening xx

I think they actually want me to have a meltdown or something!
Been told now that it was with the DM last Friday.
when I rang last Friday, they said it was with DM the Friday prior to that. Why on earth do they hire people to LIE to others? Surely that's illegal no. If you can't see anything. They should simply say that rather than just lying through their teeth 😭 genuinely just given up. My scan date is 04/01 and I feel like there will be February scan dates done before mine..
Sorry for ranting, I am really struggling with sleep as my sons sleep terrors have become daily rather than the one off 😭 xx

oh yeah I know they contact school I was just wondering if it was a generic form that they sent to school or whether it was more personalised depending on the child’s needs. Because the one I saw was questions like can the child feed themselves, can they use the loo etc, then a question at the end that said any further info. So for us all the questions would be answered yes and then school would add the further info.
just over thinking it all to be honest. I sent my sons SALT report which also had a report from school attached and when I told my sons teacher I’d done the dla she said well I don’t know what further help I could add to the form as it’s all in the report which left me feeling negative straight away. Although we have had further progress with some things for him which I sent extra evidence for last week. The wait is awful although I feel it’s gone fast up to now x

Okay, take a deep breath and count to 5. Remember no news is good news. Dont let what they say get to you. Shrug it off as they are not doing their job proper. Its not personal to you 💖. For now focus of putting you back together so you can stay strong for your son. We are here with you daily so you are not alone. Give it until Thursday if no update your going to call and straight away you are going to demand a call back from a manager 💖. One step at a time xx

I’m over thinking everything too. The last bit is definitely the hardest isn’t it. My scan date is 23/01.. I keep re reading the evidence and forms I have sent off thinking can I add more! Have I done enough etc. Have you spoken with the schools SENCO about it all? The process is so long.. I think everyone’s anxiety/stress goes through the roof. Sounds like you’ve sent lots of evidence off though.. so (easier said than done) try and remain positive.. fingers crossed for you and your little one xx

I was quite bitchy today (the song encouraged me). I said to the guy, oh funny because the letter clearly says 'upto 15 weeks' yet you're telling me 20 weeks. He was like, yeah that was a mistake. I said, wow didn't expect a government body that provides benefits to a whole NATION to make mistakes like that and still not be rectified! He had nothing to say. I was the one that cut them off for once. Finished with, I would wish you a lovely day but you've ruined mine so.. CLUNK! Down went the phone! 🫢 I think I may have needed that out my system!

Scan date jan 22 phoned today as received the 15 week text this morning and was told it was with the decision maker but not sure how long it’s been there or how long I now have to wait. I am worried but sat silent watching this thread for months and I can honestly say that all of you are so supportive of each other. Fingers crossed for all waiting to hear and do not give up for those who were declined! 🤞😊

I wish I would have that feistiness more in me when needed the most 🫢

Congratulations to those that have finally been awarded! I’m another one wondering if they contact school and how in depth they go. When I applied in January I’m sure my son had just returned to going to school full time after a 6 week part time timetable. Since then he’s been PT since late February. Scan date 22/1 is it worth me calling to update them or do I have enough time to send more evidence?

I called and asked about sending in extra evidence as I was worried they wouldn’t get it In time (I’m Jan 23rd). They said they can put a note on my file to say that I’m sending in extra evidence .. then if in the meantime the DM is ready to make a decision but hasn’t received the extra evidence the DM can call me to find out what the extra evidence is and if it would change the outcome etc.

The wait seems so long so I hope not too long I double checked with her school if they have contacted yet and nothing yet so who knows🤷🏼‍♀️ fingers crossed for you also 😊

Hey ladies, congratulations @fee89 well deserved on your award, I phoned up first thing spoke to mohammed this morning who was lovely and said most definitely add mobility on my form and do a cover letter explaining so done it all this morning and ask them to consider it for when he turns 3 in August, sent of special delivery hoping it get scanned on fast to the claim.
