i have updated universal credit and obv put the date from when they have started the claim from in December… they say I have to call because I didn’t declare the changes before.. left a note on my journel telling them why they should backdate it shouldn’t they?

Lisax08 · 03/05/2024 13:08

I called today, they have contacted school for more evidence. I did send school evidence in when I applied.

They will backdate for you, because the wait times for a decision from DLA is out of your hands, so that’s the special circumstance. You’ve notified them as soon as you’ve been made aware, that’s all you can do x

I didnt know how to amend my uc, so I called and lady helped me amend, I then left note on my journal asking for it to be backdated... had reply saying once been verified they will amend 😐
And was also told any changes in award period don't change til the following month ? Crazy way of working out :-/

They told u completely wrong it’s verified with in 2 weeks they then have to send a underpayment for that month then it goes to decision maker for a backdate xx

Hi, yes new claim. Not feeling hopeful.

I sent in School report for adhd/autism assessment

Jodess · 03/05/2024 15:10

Hi all, has anyone heard anything today?🌸

DaniCooling · 03/05/2024 15:42

I called yesterday and was told it had been sent to a DM yesterday, called again this afternoon to be advised it had been sent to a DM today. Making it up as they go along 😂

This is what puts me off calling and asking, different stories would get on my nerves. Never know where you stand with them do you… have you had a text to say theyre looking at your claim?

I received the generic we’re still looking at your claim on Monday. My scan date is 18/01 and I’ve seen quite a few 17/01 awards so was praying I’d hear something today. I genuinely feel sick waiting and was hoping to hear something before the long weekend where I’m just going to sit and stew in panic lol. Have you had that text also?

Jodess · 03/05/2024 15:49

My scan date’s the 19/01 and I’ve seen the same with 17/01, draining isn’t it, and like you say it’s now a long weekend😩 hopefully we hear something soon!

DaniCooling · 03/05/2024 15:55

Does anyone know if some DM’s are still working weekends/can acceptance texts be sent over the weekend? Clutching at straws here haha

I think they do work weekends and texts can be sent over weekends, they just won’t work this Monday bank holiday x

Strange question but do the decision makers always contact school or consultants if you supplied evidence from them already?

for school I sent inclusion support report, reduced timetable, attendance records, behaviour charts, summary reports from senco and one from the staff member who works with my child as she no longer in mainstream she is in autistic resource centre.

drs reports, consultant reports with diagnosis on. Copy of medications she takes for sleep and adhd. Brain scan evaluation reports also. I can’t remember the rest I just wanted to know would they still contact these people as it will slow the dm down. It’s starting to stress me out a bit now xx

I sent in my daughters full diagnosis report and her school ‘Individual Provision Map’ which breaks down the support they provide in relation to different areas of concern.

They didn’t contact the school and made an award based on the above.
I think if you have either medical evidence or something from school regarding additional care needs/support in place then they won’t need to contact them x

No, I haven’t had any texts, my scan date is 26/1, so I probably wouldn’t get the text til next week/week after. I have read that usually after the text it’s anything from kind of 1 day - 2 weeks x

Jom43 · 03/05/2024 16:11

I spoke to them this morning and they said I should hear something early next week and my scan date is 19/01. Said it was top of the holding pile for the case manager! Whatever that means!!!

Emzi538 · 03/05/2024 16:38

When you call make sure it's the long way, so number on letter then 1 then 5 then 2 then 3.... they most informative...
So random q @Fee89 if I recieve back pay tues/wed.... will next payment be 4 weeks after?

RayahB · 03/05/2024 16:49

I don't know how some of you get so much information from them. Everytime I ring and ask questions that just tell me their system doesn't tell them anything. I've called 4 times this week and all they've told me is that it's with a decision maker but they can't tell me when it went to them. They've not given me anything else 😞

If it makes you feel any better the information they give is absolute rubbish on most occasions anyway! It changes each time I call 😂

Frustrating though isn’t it.. what’s your scan date? X

From my experience it depends who's answering. If you lucky enough there will be someone who's really keen to look at the case, or someone who doesn't bother at all and just make up things.

How can my case van be with decision maker one day, and another back to case manager. When I look back on my calls I have a strong feeling my boys claim was all those months pushed behind and left like an unusual claim and let's look at it later. Then when I had a call from them almost two months ago to get some information about survivor's pension I was told will come back to me shortly with decision. Month passed and I finally started to call them for an update and by how that call was handled I could feel it was simply left there with no checking or nothing.

I think when they say standart 'it's with the decision maker & two weeks wait' means 50/50 they most likely not even looking at the claim at all.

I had the same earlier in the week, the security questions took longer than the actual conversation. All they told me was that it's still processing and can take up to 20 weeks 😞

Are case manager and decision maker different? I’ve called 3 times and each time different- I’ve been told it’s any day and I’ll get a decision it’s with the decision maker.. I then got told it’s not even with the decision maker.. and to wait a month.. then I got told it’s going to the case manager and will be between 1-7 days.. So I’ve given up calling now! 😂

I feel for you though- your case has been going on so long hasn’t it?
