Rang for forms 30th Nov
Scan date 11/01 same day as return by stamp
Rang 18th March to say still not heard do I need to call PIP as d turning 16yrs on 24th March - told No, and to wait for DLA outcome
Rang again on 1st April to double check re PIP, told we can’t tell you anything you need to call PIP
Called PIP who said need to do an appointee referral, we will send visiting officer out.
Text from DLA Monday 22nd April stating still looking at claim.
DWP visiting officer came out Fri 26th April, appointeeship awarded straight away.
showed visiting officer new evidence including diagnosis (received this after DLA form submitted)
Asked visiting officer if I should send additional evidence to DLA - he said no as started a claim for PIP now.
Have seen so many people with scan dates close to mine and text on 22nd be awarded last week that I’m convinced our claim for DLA must be a decline. Unable to call as anxiety around hearing them say decline would just floor me as d is on a downward trajectory and really struggling. Sorry for the moan, like so many of you the wait is getting to me. Wishing all of you the best for awards this week xxxx

I find dla alot harder than pip. On dla for my daughter i had to do an mr. She was then awarded mrc and lrm until she was 16 so a 6 year award. She then turned 16 i rang pip they asked if i wanted them to use dla evidence. I stated yes. I filled in pip form with high school care plan as evidence. 8 weeks they texted stating she was awarded. High on both 2023-2029. Moral of this.......even if dla decline pip is a totally different system xx

For anybody wondering I also just had one of my sons renewals done within 4 weeks….Was due to end mid June x

Just called - got straight through.

She said that apparently as soon as a claim is scanned onto the system they are allocated to a case manager and sit in a holding pile with that particular worker and then they work through them in date order (that’s a new one for me).

Still no outcome but she did say she doesn’t expect it to be too much longer given the fact it’s been 13 weeks already x

Just off phone. She answered grumpy so thought id be extra sweet being her first call. Daughters claim is now with d.m and she is sending d.m a message to text me. Said it could be few days to couple weeks depending if they need extra info. By end off call her tone in voice changed and she was lovely xx

I've just got through to the cheery as ever Kim who wouldn't help with my query or answer any questions, she didn't even take security info, just kept fobbing me off with "you need to redial" when i'd put the right options in! Phoning again but this'll probably take forever now 😫

DD5 has been awarded HRC and LRM, I’m so over the moon as we had to stop her private OT a few weeks ago due to the cost (£600 a month), and this will almost cover it.

for reference she is not officially diagnosed yet but is under CAMHs and SEN at school.

Just a question for fellow Sen parents. Is it appropriate for me to order a radar key do you think? DD is terrified of toilets (hand dryers and all the general noise) and will often wet herself mid meltdown as I’m trying to get her to go in.

I will. I think we will get a decline. As I didn’t put much on someone who knows your child as I got mother in law to do it. But I will fight against it if we do!
