You can ask for uc to pay rent direct to landlord. You can also request more regular payments. 2 or 4 payments a month if it will be better for you. That's what I have done

Can you ask for weekly payment from UC? I didn't know that I thought it wad just fortnightly? X

Mumofthecrazygang86 · 02/05/2024 21:46

Not weekly it's 4 payments a month. So if a month had 5 weeks there would be 1 week without payment. My friend has that. I get mine 2 payments a month as I wasn't doing well with it on monthly. Lol.

Fee89 · 02/05/2024 21:51

I didnt know you could get it split into 2 payments. I have a friend on uc and she is always skint. Come last 2 weeks off month she has nothing and i dont get how. Its just her and 1 child. I often think people see huge lump sum and just go through it 🤦🏻‍♀️ where as i see lump sum and panic 😂. Gosh i have some childhood issues 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hi, yes new claim. Not feeling hopeful.

No me either, I sent my form with no evidence because we are still waiting to be seen. Hopefully we will find out in the next 4-5 weeks 🤞

Ah I get you lol, I used to have it 2 payments a month from UC until I was receiving carers allowence for my partner, so I was receiving a weekly payment till i cancelled it,(I still care for him and my dd), now thinking I need to change back, I also have a daughter who receiving HRC, life's hectic, my youngest has suspected ADHD, so currently waiting for this scan date 6/3, think I need to change back to fortnightly x

Mumofthecrazygang86 · 02/05/2024 21:57

What evidence did you send in lovely? I only sent in my daughters health visiting report (from her 2 year review), a gp letter saying he will refer her for SALT and PAEDS, then the actual letters from SALT & PAEDS saying she is on their waiting list. She was awarded HRC X

How old is your daughter? I have just plucked up the courage to call for forms for my daughter who is 3 because I thought it was to early as we are still waiting to be seen

@Fee89 Yep you can change it to two payments 😆 my sister spends all her money within days, i find this bizarre but each to their own, I'm the same as you though, I save, it scares me. My daughter constantly needs new bedding/underwear/ clothing, she has a diagnosis of overactive bladder currently going though autism diagnosis she is 9 ,Just constant, seen your comment the other day about shower curtains on bed and, sheet and so on, think this is all fucking amazing idea , as my daughter has me up all night changing her and bedding x

KLA1993 · 02/05/2024 22:07

@Fee89 I changed it as his mum was also becoming his carer as she dropped hours at work and he lives with her so she could do a lot more for him as I have my own 2 girls who are a handful bless them, but now I regret cancelling as I'm still doing everything I was anyway, a nightmare TBH x

Lisax08 · 02/05/2024 22:08

I only had referral letter and statement from school about needing extra help and how they think he has asd.

Oh honestly it was a nightmare. We tried blackbag but that was useless. So went to b&m and bought some shower curtains. They go in wash aswell so was handy. But i was becoming exhausted stripping a bed and re making it just to do it again 🤦🏻‍♀️. Id also put a blanket over her then the covers so it wasnt getting the covers xx

This is what scares me. 17 years iv either had tax credits or working. Iv been weekly with them and its always been ideal incase something came up. To go to monthly screws up my system xx

@Fee89 im on UC, have been for a good few years now and I receive my payments twice monthly. It was originally just one payment per month but because of financial struggles I asked for it to be split in 2 and they agreed. So maybe something to ask if it would help you.

I think i may. For me its knowing the security is there should my kids need anything. I need to buy hypo treatments weekly aswell so would make it easier. I just thought it was a standard monthly and stuff shit sort of thing lol xx

@Fee89 honestly sounds exactly like my daughter, constantly buying her new quilts until I bought a thick blanket that I am constantly Washing, the continence team put her on medication that does not work atall, she has had bedtime alarms the lot, the asd nurse thinks it may be a sensory issue so we will go from their but yeah I have applied for my dd now for carers allowence, completely messed my money up cancelling my partner but it what it is, hopefully hear back for my youngest daughter soon, her ADHD symptoms are undeniable, she is such a handful, I cry most days ☹️ hope we all hear soon, happy you was awarded but just want to say, my friends daughter had type 1 diabetes she recieves HRC xx

I’m sure someone commented earlier today they were accepted with a scan date beginning of feb! But I think that may have been an anomaly, it’s looking more like 16-17/01 at the minute x

@Fee89 aww bless you, I agree, it's hard waiting all this time for an award to have to do an mr, I was the Same I was just happy she was awarded, I thought my dd was deserving of hrm, she suffers from severe water infections constant, like every week because of her wetting herself, which causes her alot of pain , we have a lot of different appointments because of this, she also has a lot of anxiety about life, she is 9 but honestly you would think she is 16, she has always been older headed it scares me, she completely Masks infront of her peers in school, pretends to like things when she dosnt. Thankyou you are doing amazing too, the advise you give to everybody is so lovely, you are so nice 🥹 don't want you to leave the group 😆 xxx

Say to her if i could id slap that attitude out off you.....her reply 'you cant, nana is a social worker' 😬😂 xx

@Fee89 🤣😂 your daughter sounds amazing, least she has a voice were as mine hasn't yet, I believed she is trying to fit in so she is liked, breaks my heart, she is enough herself 🥹💜 hope she will do the same, high school scares me, she is only in year 4, she reminds me of her dad, he is currently going though asd assessment, but he also has alot of other issues, I'm scared our daughters inherited these issues, I have learnt how to deal with partners issues but young children's it's different, I realise I am not alone , xx
