Hi I know this isn’t DLA related but it’s the only thread Im on I’m not sure where else to post I hope it’s ok to post here, my DD is currently through ASD diagnosis, we had first paed appointment from there they have requested blood tests for further checks is this usual procedure? I’m worrying myself sick that they are thinking it’s something else . ASD is quite severe with lots of regression from around age 1

I'd see it as they are doing for a full health check and making sure they are not missing anything. Tbf sounds good they are checking her over and not just sending you away xx

I could cry my son was awarded I rang at 10.30 and was told it was with a dm I asked them to text me when a decision was made and 11.30 got a text to say he qualifies. Scan date 16/1.

Good luck to all still waiting I hope you get a decision ASAP. Also congratulations on all that have had their awards

Absolute bxtch whoever I spoke to!
She kept saying renewal. I said no, it's a NEW claim. Asked me so many security questions to then say, you're not helping by calling in so often. I told her I am entitled to ask as many times as I want for MY son's claim.
She then said, it is with DM and you need to wait until the 3rd week on JUNE! How is that possible when you're saying I have to wait 20 weeks but June makes it 24 weeks!
ughhhhhh they're really testing my nerves!

Can this not be escalated any higher or put a complaint in? Your case seems dreadfully mismanaged... Hopefully your award is soon 💞

@Clf2024 i agree! I asked her if my son's claim could be made priority as we need an occupational therapist to change our bathroom - my son can't have baths, he panics a lot. He needs a shower fitting. She said 'no I can't'. Evil cow!

My son had blood tests arranged after his initial paeds appointment too- they mentioned about using the results to help with future research, but the report we had confirmed that he was tested for Fragile X syndrome as well as chromosomal disorders.

I'm not sure if it's done for all cases, but they may just be being thorough. Hope that helps x

We've been awarded! Which is of course a relief but also it's a bit annoying as he clearly meets the criteria for HRC and we've been awarded MRC, so I guess we'll have to do a MR. But it's great that we've got some breathing space now!

You shouldn't feel bad as we all have our personal reasons for it, to how we are being treated and how long does it takes. As it's all for our little ones and to have that extra support 🫶🏻

Just called, lady was lovely but said it’s taking 15 weeks (I’m 15 weeks tomorrow) she said it should be with DM by then and should be maybe another week or two, it isn’t 15 weeks then is it?😂🙃

I'm scared to put my hopes up as at this point I just want to know the decision. 🫣
We do want to save some money to move the house. For six people this house is too small and one toilet 🚻 🤦🏻‍♀️ one female with five males, not good. Also my little one is extra needy and sensitive when it's about space, sounds, accidents. Was OK when I moved in just me and the boys, but they grow.. two teenagers...and then my hubby moved in and now when he's working from home...
