Spoke to someone called Tanya.
She said, it takes upto 15 weeks for it to even be seen by a case manager. Decisions are taking 20 weeks in total from scan date. First time I have heard that one. She said there's no update on the system for anything.
I think at this point, I'm not fussed anymore. If we get it, then we do. If we don't, it is what it is.
Just sick of being told so many different things. 16 weeks and 2 days currently, still nothing.
Genuinely believe it's a decline now x

@CoralSheep
Thank you so much! Will have a look into it. I have waited so patiently. If honest my first call for an update was only on April, with scan date 21 of November 2023. I start to feel like I'm being pushed back massively just because they have not faced cases, like my boys claim, often. My mental health has already been affected and I'm not coping well. Death, grieve, PTSD, Covid, then acceptence of my little ones Autism with other issues(disorders) And now I can't even be authorised likes his carer and provide with all that support he needs. Sorry for my emotional outburst here..

Dont apologise lovely, I'd be the same way tbh. Another 6 weeks on top of an already 5 month wait is way over the 12 weeks stated on the government's website and the 15 weeks stated in the letters, there should be processes in place to ensure that when more complex cases like yours arise, then they can deal with it efficiently. Unfortunately the system is screwed and it is unfair for anyone that can't access support when they genuinely need it. SEN children are already at a disadvantage in a lot of ways and as their parents, we are the people the drive ourselves into the ground to make sure they have the best quality of life. It's all out of love for our babies but it's not easy. It seems like a neverending fight but our hard work will eventually pay off. You've been through a lot but your babies lucky to have you in their corner xx

Just really upsets me because these call handlers get your hopes up and then crush it the next day.
I do feel like we're more towards the decline.. because if they're saying there's nothing on system for any update means they're not bothered by the application I'm assuming. X

That just means they havnt sent or need extra evidence or that an award/decline has been made x

Yes. Id speak to school and your support workers. School/nursery can do a referral. If not in school/nursery you gp can do one xx

Hey I've been quietly watching the threads 😊. My scan date was 15/01. Have just received the text to say my son has been awarded. I am about to ring and find out which rate. My son has no diagnosis yet but is on the neuro pathway for suspected asd/adhd. He has arfid and does not sleep 😩. He is 5, I had some evidence from the school and a letter from our gp and sent his acceptance letter from Neurology to say he was on the waiting list. Although I have been silent these threads have been a great support. The anxiety waiting to hear and to be consistently told something different everytime you call has been a nightmare. I hope everyone waiting hears soon.

I couldn’t help myself 😂 I phone again today after being told it was with a decision maker. Caller told me nothing has changed since the last time you called which was yesterday and you need to wait until last of may. 😂😂I will be phoning again on Friday 😂

Emzi538 · 30/04/2024 13:19

Decided to call.... wish us luck ....

I'm kinda eager ... 15 weeks tomorrow 😂

fluffyguineapig · 30/04/2024 13:23

Feeling really disheartened today. I called yet again (scan date 4/1), and they told me that although my application had been with a DM two weeks ago, the DM had (for no discernible reason) put the application back into the wait pile, and nobody had noticed. The man on the phone told me that he's assigned it to another decision maker, but it's at the bottom of the pile again so it's going to be another two weeks.

I've just so frustrated. I've been calling every few days and clearly nobody has bothered to actually check the actual application, and has just fobbed me off. And how long would I have been waiting if this guy hadn't actually checked?! I feel so helpless with it all!

The call centre staff are just ridiculous, what are they doing all day apart from pretending to check claims and making up whatever they like to say?!

Tinxy · 30/04/2024 13:24

Does anyone have a scan date around 20th February and have heard anything??

Emzi538 · 30/04/2024 13:30

Wish I hadn't called... not with dm and said highly unlikely decision before 20 weeks :-( 😞 they have all info they need but that's all she could say... so will leave for now ;-/

Think she has just tried to fob you off! We have the same scan date and when I called yesterday he said it should be in the next couple of days xxx

Emzi538 · 30/04/2024 13:40
