Local member of Parliament sweet, you can google who the MP for your area is and then email them. Explain the situation and tell them how much it is affecting you, and that you're not being given any real updates, other than another 6 weeks on top of an already extended timeline and they should be able to contact dwp and find out what's going on and dwp will most likely pull their finger out. Its not anything personal but they should be treating what is a delicate matter alot better and no one would blame you for taking it personally. Grieving is a messed up process and even when you have moved on, you still grieve, that's completely valid. You shouldn't need to wait another 6 weeks for them to sort shit that should have been sorted weeks ago, I know they are backlogged but that's still no excuse. In regards to the MP, you pay your council tax, and they work for you so you have every right to use their influence to help solve the matter at hand xx
