So .... I gave in and called 😂
Lady went through all security with me apart from my bra size!
She has said that all claims now will be at the 20 week mark... and advised me to call 5th June as that's the latest should be done, she said they can't text me decision or any text... but that she can see that they have all info they need... she was bit grumpy but I was super super nice to her and she soon mellowed lol so I'm gonna just lurk here and hope she is wrong pmsl

Bra size😂😂😂 I really needed that laugh thanks

Persianpoppy · 18/04/2024 14:21

@Fee89
@Lolipop27

Im going to try my luck tomorrow and call. Hoping I speak with someone nicer today!
&' No I did not get a chance to get her name because she put down the phone 😭😂

Just want some really good news for all of us!! I don't drive as I suffer from seizures as well, so getting taxi's to hospitals that are 45 mins away on a regular basis is ridiculous money! This would help with travel (plus little menaces birthday coming up! 🤣)

TiredTilly · 18/04/2024 14:21

@Matilde08 same here 23rd week 😞💔

This is annoying! We have the same scan date I called yesterday and she tolD me 2nd of may! This is what’s confusing a lot of people. Is everyone’s a new claim?

Not NI but I am waiting for a CoC decision.
Scan 12/01 two letters, no text yet. Haven’t really called either.

Kee3k · 18/04/2024 14:27

I’m gunna call again tomorrow and if they even try and give me a different date to what they said yesterday I’m gunna tell them I don’t want fobbing of anymore I wanna know exactly what update is on the claim, and why does my letter state 15 weeks. I didn’t get my letter till the 5th of March. And this letter didn’t actually have a scan date on it, does that mean that was a secound letter that was sent out?

I've been out all day distracting myself. Currently renovating too whilst kids are at school, running round like a headless chicken! 😂
happy birthday to your little one for this weekend! Hope they have a magical birthday ❤️

@Matilde08 same here 23rd week 😞💔

😔 Have tried to call them for an update?
It doesn't make any sense why she couldn't tell anything even they clearly saw it's more than 20 weeks already. Not even an approx waiting time from no one.

MsTB101 · 18/04/2024 15:02

Why can't they give consistent answers on the phone, they'd save so much time and money if they made it all clearer in terms of wait times on the letters and we wouldn't ring them up asking.

My 15 weeks is up on Monday so might ring tomorrow or Monday . . .Was considering it this afternoon but after going along on my daughter's field trip as she can't manage the mini bus and needs 1 to 1 support I'm just going to lie down instead 🤣

My daughter is 6 and has ADHD and autism, she does not mask at school by any means 😂 so i've already sent loads of stuff from school so in hoping that won't hold things up

I’ve called plenty of times. They keep saying call in 2 weeks and again call in 2 weeks. I don’t think the call handlers can actually give you a real time of any progress so they just guess or lie. I’ve been calling since February. I get the same thing all the time…just waiting for an NI number. I don’t understand why it’s taken 5months to get an NI number when hmrc says they create NI numbers in 48hours when requested. They are all just lazy liars.

Anyone with an early January scan date had any good news I’m 8/1 but I’m getting so impatient and sick of them telling me the same yet different things every time I call

I have seen a few early Jan dates being awarded and declined, I'm beginning of Jan and starting to get a little nervous now 😬

I’m more fed up than nervous I just want to know either way weather it’s another hurdle or weather I can just sit back and relax for a short while 🙈🤷🏼‍♀️ it drives me mad

I’m also 8/1, I’ve resisted ringing because I’ve seen so many others be knocked back by the call handlers that I don’t think I’d be able to take it so just praying for a text soon!

Justkeepsplashing · 18/04/2024 16:36

My application is on hold whilst awaiting information from school - my scan date was 19th December. I doubt anything carrying weight will be sent from school as daughter masks well. I did ask for a SENCO to complete it but the Head of Year has. I don’t even know when it’ll be completed or sent on, she just told me that she was filling it in.

About two weeks ago, I sent a handwritten 2page letter about daughter’s emotional and mental health by first class. I was panicking as I’d only completed the form and as daughter doesn’t have an official diagnosis, I had no evidence to send with it. The man who answered DLA number last week said that as if posted it to the Freepost address, it can take them up to 28 days to receive it on their system. On Monday of this week, I sent another letter and diary by recorded post to the address in Wolverhampton. The man who answered my call yesterday said it’ll be around two weeks until they receive that one. Honestly, the system is broken.

I had a nervous breakdown last month, caring for my daughter alone - she was having meltdowns for two hours before school every morning, was aggressive towards me and then I’d have to go to my Uni placement. In the evening, I was studying and trying to care for my elderly Nan. It all came crashing down on me and I had to withdraw from my studies. I gave up a full time job to study ti try and build a better life for my daughter but I’m too mentally exhausted now. We’ve no money coming in (I’ve applied to UC), no support. I wish I could meet you all in person for a coffee because this journey is so hard. I’ll update here if I hear any news and good luck to all xx

I do agree that looks like the call handlers can't actually give real information or times. But why there is such an option to call for an update and even option for them who's waiting more than 20 weeks. Yes, they could confirm it's in process and already 20+ weeks, but absolutely nothing about why it takes so long, when we could at least approx expect decision.

Manage to sent them copy of my marriage certificate today like they asked and now naively hoping it would speed up the process even so she said it's not the reason it takes so long.

Fingers crossed we both get decisions back shortly 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Oh dear.. all I can say so sorry you have to go through this. Totally understandable why your anxieties go through the roof. I can relate a bit even so I have my partner. Last 6 years have been a bit too harsh.. I lost my first husband five years ago by very aggressive cancer, was his carer as when diagnosed already terminal. We have four beautiful boys..youngest one (who's autistic) was only 3.5 and oldest 14 when it happened. Then Covid, my PTSD.. I do not have family around as I'm not native. During all that I found out my youngest one might be autistic and it made sense as I noticed he's different years ago. All the anxieties around the loss, grieve, his autism, facing new life.. it could be overwhelming. And we can't be strong all the time. But we have to remember to be gentle to ourselves as well even it's so hard when you have all those responsibilities. Life with special needs kids is so challenging and only we can understand that. Hugs to you 🫂

Im trying to keep myself busy and trying to limit checking on here. 😢 It's really sucking the life out off me. Then my mind goes all over the place wondering how people that are struggling are coping with this wait. The money isnt even for us but example Freya eat 8 times yesterday some cant afford 3 meals yet when we call for updates they talk to us like utter shit. For some this dla is going to be a life line for their kids. Urghhh i hate my head 😔

I 10000% agree with you! My son eats a lot and mainly because of his medication; he just doesn't stop. Our grocery shop has increased by atleast £300-£350 a month on top of what I used to spend. Transport to stimulate him during school holidays costs a lot too along with booking places; especially something that satisfies his sensory needs. I can only imagine what other parents must go through!
They really should of sorted some sort of online tracking for applications if the call handlers don't want to deal with our calls. Clearly some of them are bored with their job so they don't need it 👀

The cost of food annoys me. So far this week iv spent £300. Thats to make sure school have hypo treatment and her drinks weekly aswell. She doesnt sit still shes constant 24.7 so what she eats just burns right back off, iv got 2 other kids i need to feed aswell 😂. But just to have abit of sympathy from call handlers when they are dealing with disabled claims would make all the difference x

Loubyloufootball · 18/04/2024 19:30

I called today (couldn’t resist as haven’t called before) Week 12 on Monday. Shocked to get through straight away. He said he didn’t know if it was in the queue or with DM, just that they aren’t waiting for any further information and that claims are now taking up to 24 weeks! Couldn’t tell me anything. I haven’t sent any evidence with my claim, but think I will send it separately tomorrow as I don’t think I can bear anything else holding things up and then the wait for an MR
