Amazing news! What was your scan date

Shannon157 · 18/04/2024 11:49

I just got the text saying my daughter qualifies 🥳 scan date 03/01 so 15 weeks 1 day. Fingers crossed there’s more to follow good luck everyone!

Hi all,

long time lurker so hope it’s ok to post and share my news. I just rang for the first time - we are week 16. I got through straight away and spoke to a lovely man who told me a decision had been made this morning and transfered me to another department who also answered within a couple of minutes. My daughter has been awarded the highest rate and I should be receiving payment in my account in the next few days. I can’t tell you what a relief this is. We are currently having to pay for private presentations for her medications for ADHD and she desperately needs a tutor as she’s not able to attend school and she’s fallen so far behind. I really hope this is ok to share and I hope others have equally good news today.

Congratulations!!
Atleast you got somebody helpful xx

Hi, ladies ✨️ Showed up here for some advice a week ago. Scan date 22nd of November and no decision. Today was the day I decided I just need to give a call to them as it's already more than 20 weeks. I did choose that exact option, if I have waited for more than 20 weeks, press... Anyways I was shocked to be conected straight away with very nice lady who first checked all the details and forwarded me to service who can explain more. Was really hoped for more clearer update, but all she did was just explain that it could take longer than 15 weeks sometimes and just reassure me that it doesn't mean there's something wrong with our claim. The only thing they asked me as they could see that on HMRS my surname is different, if I can send my marriage certificates copy to them if I want to change my surname on claim. I recently got married, so when claimed, still had my old surname. Anyways, I had a feeling she was more focused on that. So I ended up the call pretty much with zero hint where we are and what's the progress. Not even single clue..days, weeks. I even asked politely does surname is the issue, but she let me know that not really, it's just takes a bit longer than 15 weeks. Was over thinking reasons before, and this call have not helped me with overthinking and guessing everything even more. 😩 Was really hoped for more clear update, even if we still have to wait, for how long..

Thank you 😊

I had a feeling they just suddenly noticed that our claim still have not been finalised and thats why couldn't give any update at all. They called me nearly month ago to check some details and then said we'll be back to you shortly with our decision now.

Could it be they have contacted school/nursery? Does your ref start with CL? At 20 weeks are they not meant to mark it as urgent? Xx

School helped me to fill our claim as he's still not diagnosed, but goes through the assessment (autism) Loads of evidence, letters from hospital, pediatrician as he has eating disorder ARFID..allergic eye condition etc. When I had that call month ago it was like, thank you.. Will be back with our decision shortly.
Our reference starts with ST for us. He does not have NI number and ladies here explained that would be the reason why for us it takes longer. But lady on the phone today didn't mention anything, simple- it's just takes longer sometimes. I have a feeling my claim was lost a bit in system. It's 23rd week for us.

Shannon157 · 18/04/2024 12:21

Just for reference I phoned last week and got no actual answers about my claim, received a text Monday morning saying they were still looking & got the qualify text today. I didn’t send much evidence either only my daughters initial assessment & a letter of support for our early years support team as she isn’t in a nursery yet x

It gives me a little hope that maybe now they'll be back to us with decision shortly as well... I really hope so.

Hi all, my scan date is 16/1. I have some new evidence to send (school healthcare plan), could anyone please tell me the address I need to send it to. Thank you 😊

Fee89 · 18/04/2024 12:36

@Matilde08 your ref is your childs NI number. Id call back up and ask to speak to a manager or have a manager to call you. You need to know whats actually happening as that wait is not acceptable

I did ask for a text when a decision is made, I know some of them can't do texts anyway but I don't know if it was good thing asking. I think I would rather just find out when I ring.
Because EVERY time I get a normal text message my heart skips a beat 🫣

Will wait till Monday as this call toke a lot of me already. So got a bit disappointed to have such a general response.. not even saying approx when I can expect to get that decision.
How they actually let us know about decision? Reading here that some gets a text message, some calls.. only then letter about it and which rate.

Some get texts, some phone for updates. If awarded you will see payment in bank before you get letter x

So .... I gave in and called 😂
Lady went through all security with me apart from my bra size!
She has said that all claims now will be at the 20 week mark... and advised me to call 5th June as that's the latest should be done, she said they can't text me decision or any text... but that she can see that they have all info they need... she was bit grumpy but I was super super nice to her and she soon mellowed lol so I'm gonna just lurk here and hope she is wrong pmsl
