I'm not going to park over on the new thread! I've informed UC of the carers and disabled child element and requested back pay.... Think that's all I needed to do but an expecting a wait! This group has been an absolute lifeline in the last few months, what a brilliant community to be a part of. I just wanted to thank you all and wish you all the best of luck in the coming weeks. Hope they crack on with applications and you all get the awards that your beautiful children deserve 💗

Have you heard anything off UC yet? I changed circumstances and left a note on my journal on the 10th and had nothing back off them yet., feel like it's gunna be another loooong wait

Hi hun I updated them on the 17th when I found out about the award. They have messaged me today to say they are still trying to verify the claim but aim to get it done by my next statement next Monday then it'll be sent to the DM to decide if they'll allow back pay. Like you say it's gonna be another long wait!!!

@Leopardprintleelan my next statement is not until 06/05 hoping they update me before then 🤦🏻‍♀️ I feel like by the time everything's in place it'll be time for renewal! Crazy!

Mines the 4th so I'm really hoping they get a wiggle on. At least with this you know your entitled to it and its just waiting for them to sort out out, and your not sat fretting it'll be a decline! Fingers crossed they get sorted for our statements!!

I made my application mid December and was awarded this week, I was given the heads up as I’d missed 2 questions that were NA to me but needed answering, so they called me to answer them, I was then told by the advisor they would be looking over the application that day (Thursday)and a decision would be made, that I would receive in writing, the wait was around 17 weeks, the backdate was pending in my bank on the Sunday, it cleared Monday, I got the backdate days before the award letter arrived.

DLA received my son’s application on Tuesday . Said I should hear back by the 10 September at the latest! Just glad they received it since I attached a few letters and info .

Dla received my form 19/3/24 received a letter 3 weeks later stating they received it then received another letter yesterday saying they still haven't made a decision and can take upto 15 weeks

revieved 2 letters and a txt on 17 weeks now anyone recieved there decision yet first time claiming sent copies of all reports i had with the forms

I had a letter stating I needed to provide my identification , so I am hoping to hear something soon

Never heard of this before they should already have your identification eg national insurance number ect

Yeah , I was suspicious at first but phoned to make sure it was actually from them. My
friend also recently claimed for her child and she had to do the same x

It’s coming upto the deadline for them to make a decision but I did get the same letter as you @Bennett12 about them not making a decision. So assuming they get an extra 15 weeks ? x
