Hi my scan date was 19th Jan for coc I'm in northern ireland. My 4 year old daughter gets HRC they sent me forms for mobility part. My DD has a diagnosis of non verbal autism and serve global development delay she attends special nursery and just had her annual review she will be attending special school in sept. My DD is a flight risk she can walk . due to her sensory issues she can't hold hands. She bolts as soon as door opens runs and climbs very fast she ran out in front of car twice in last year totally no awareness of danger can't follow or understand directions very little to no understanding of things I can't take her anywhere on my own I always need someone with me for her safety if I can't get anyone we could be stuck in house for weeks on end I'm really hoping she gets awarded hrm as a car would be a blessing for us to even just be able to get her out for drive and save meltdowns in taxis etc. sorry for long post but just wondering has anyone been or know anyone that has been awarded hrm for someone with my daughters diagnosis and also how long ni claims are taking
Thanks

Hi all, I received my 2nd letter today , 8 weeks mark. This letter has a ni number as a reference number. Is that a good sign or am i just being hopeful to not have to do a mr ? 🙈😂 thank you :)

@Kee3k I'm just waiting for one to start counting my weeks then il really go off one 😬. I think they need to re word the letters they are sending out. Instead of up to 15 weeks it should state 'this could take 15 weeks or more for an outcome' atleast then prople wouldnt feel lied to x

When I called yesterday she said 15 weeks for it to go to a dm I said well on my letter it states 15 weeks for a decision she was like no it’s before it goes to a dm, well state that on the letter properley then. Or at least give an accurate date. They get me so angry because they are just not helpful at all.

@Fee89
I asked that couple weeks ago! As my letter states up to 15 weeks! He was rude and said 20 weeks! If you look on gov website states three months lol!

Don't think anyone really knows what they are doing to be completely honest :-/

I seen this on the government website also think they really need to update it!

I remember the first time I called as I haldnt recieved a letter to say that they had received the forms back. On the phone she told me was scanned on the 11/01 so I put a note in my notes on my phone of this day. Secound time I rang she said scanned 17/01 how can there be 6 days added on? I have an older child who currently gets HRC and MRM his now is due for renewal so have to go through it all again! Had to fight from my son been 4 years old! After constant dismissal from cahms he eventually got accepted and got diagnosed with autism at the age of 11! Just before he was starting secondary school! Suspected adhd also but this one was rejected because it didn’t align with school has he masked it so much in school! Now we’re going through the same process with my youngest daughter who school actually referred this time. I just no how lengthy the process is going to be. I work part time also and calnt even claim carers for my son even though I care for him everyday every night and every weekend! I work while he is at school, I think they need to re evaluate the whole system!

Alex900 · 18/04/2024 09:56

I got through eventually. No updates but told it’s with the right people it’s waiting to be looked at

Your new scan date is same as our date...
And waiting for appointments to get your child support is just as much a battle :-(

School would always go against what I said to cahms I had to get my gp to refer me for him. Had to do parent courses everything. They always declined helping me apply for a EHCP for him. It took for a lady from SALT who specialised in autism also to go see him first ever time she met him and she knew instantly. So thanks to her cahms opened the case back up and eventually assessed him! It is just so draining doing everything in your power to get your child the help they need and constantly getting knocked back! This school had him since foundation. And it took one lady who had never met him before! My youngest doesn’t mask it as well as my son did. He use to come out of them school gates and just completely melt down I recorded everything and they still never seemed to cared. Even though they was times I had to ring them to help me get him into school as he would just run of and meltdown. It scares me so much even though he is almost 13 as he just sees no danger! Everyday I wake and worry

So, I called this morning.. I don't think any of them are happy today! Unlucky for the call handler, I hadn't had my morning coffee yet so she got a grilling and a whole re-evaluation of her character and manners! Asked to be transferred to someone higher than her, she cut off the call!!

Omg she actually cut off the call. What is wrong with them today.
Glad I'm not calling!!!

Emzi538 · 18/04/2024 10:20

Omg! Why would she be so rude !

Persianpoppy · 18/04/2024 10:24

@Anxiouslywaitingmum @Emzi538
Absolutely disgusting behaviour today! Didn't even have any of my questions answered 😭
My friend said to me the best time to call them is on a Friday as they get the end of the week reports on system so they can give you more of a detailed update! I hope that helps you all ❤️

Summerrp · 18/04/2024 10:25

It seems like the awards come out in chunks, so many on one day then nothing for 3 or 4 days. Strange how it all works.

I'm almost on week 11 now getting anxious, I haven't called yet think I'll wait until week 15 as I know they'll only tell me the same as everyone else

I'm at 7 week mark with 1 letter. Having the NI number (as long as it doesn't start CL) means you won't have to wait for one to be assigned, as from previous comments that has held their applications up by several weeks.

Omg how frustrating. I got nowhere when I rang on Monday he didn't answer my question just said it could take the full 20 week. Are you ringing back? I'd like to say I'm going to try wait it out to the end of the month but I'll probably ring on Monday. Least I find out if it's still open claim or not

Did you catch her name? Call back up and ask to be put down for a managers call. ALL calls are recorded so the manager can listen to the call and her hanging up on you x

Mine starts with AG? I didn’t realise they all had different meanings

Fee89 · 18/04/2024 10:34

@Summerrp Sorry if iv missed, but what is your scan date? Im 30.01 so 11 weeks. I got told last week it was with d.m, tuesday got told nope def not then today was told its registered? They talk out their ass x

Summerrp · 18/04/2024 10:36

I also think by reading some of these comments, they need to look into who they employ to answer these calls. Absolutely degrading and disgusting behaviour. No compassion to what we are all experiencing in our lives, every day is a battle. Just so sad how some of you have been treated knowing first hand how difficult it all is

Fee89 · 18/04/2024 10:38

What makes me laugh is it states they wont accept any type of abuse. Yeah well we expect the same respect back. It works 2 ways 😡

Kee3k · 18/04/2024 10:34

From what I've devised from these threads, if it starts with a CL it's a clerical number and not their actual NI number. When you receive CB your child gets an NI number then.

Hi all,

long time lurker so hope it’s ok to post and share my news. I just rang for the first time - we are week 16. I got through straight away and spoke to a lovely man who told me a decision had been made this morning and transfered me to another department who also answered within a couple of minutes. My daughter has been awarded the highest rate and I should be receiving payment in my account in the next few days. I can’t tell you what a relief this is. We are currently having to pay for private presentations for her medications for ADHD and she desperately needs a tutor as she’s not able to attend school and she’s fallen so far behind. I really hope this is ok to share and I hope others have equally good news today.
