Just had my first text to say still looking at my claim. My heart skipped a beat when I saw it was DWP 😭

Morning all.

had a text this morning stating I’d been awarded. Middle rate for 2 year! Over the moon.

scan date 15/12.

Congratulations 💝

Chickapea77 · 15/04/2024 11:08

Mine is 12/01 but no text 😭

MamaM1506 · 15/04/2024 11:11

Thank you all.
Can anyone help me with UC?
I'm not working, will I become my sons carer now? Will that stop the dreaded back to work schemes ect?
Also do I claim carers allowance and/or carers element? Along with disability element?

Had letter few weeks later asking for birth certificate and then received that back.
Just had a text today at start of week 15 to say they're still looking into my claim.
Just attempting to call them now to check they've received evidence I posted recently

I was expecting it next week, think that's why I nearly pooped myself when I saw it was from DWP 🤣

@TiredTilly @Emmajm85 are you calling today xx

My little one had a complete meltdown so couldn’t call at 9am. So only just managed to call. Got through to Jordan, he was really lovely. Apparently now it’s with the trace team. They still don’t have a reference number for her, so he sent a message through to them to say I was on the line chasing. He said as soon as they get the reference they will process it straight away. The reference should come through in the next week or so.

literally don’t know how many times I’ve been told it will be done in the next week or 2, yet here I am, still waiting 😅🙄 xx

BeWarmCat · 15/04/2024 11:27

I so want to call but I'm only like at the 7/8 week mark, was thinking of calling up under the pretense of sending more evidence off but worried they'll tell me its declined already. So hate being a pessimist and feeling like everyone is against me 😭 god damn ADHD 😫.

Fee89 · 15/04/2024 11:30

@Emmajm85 Hope little one is okay now. Have you tried calling child benefit? Xx

@BeWarmCat You dont need to make up a reason. Just state you would like an update on the progress. It will atleast put your mind to rest knowing its still waiting to go d.m or its with a d.m xx

Hi you have to make a change of circumstances or you can ring uc and tell them to do it for you over the phone. Tell them that you now receive dla and also that you are a carer. Iam still chasing backdate payment for uc since the 2nd of April. You also need to request them to back date the disabled child element as well as the carers element from
when you was first awarded dla. If you don’t request they won’t add it to your statement.

Yes, few on facebook have been.

Oh good, thankyou. Was hoping the week off over Xmas and new year would speed the claims up slightly.

KLA1993 · 15/04/2024 11:52

@MamaM1506 Hi yes you will become your child's carer and will not have to go to appointments

Hi do this to claim disability and carers on UC then go onto carers allowance to claim that ( you have to claim both carers things so it equals out on your uc claim but you won’t need to look for work with carers allowance, after you’ve done both put a note on your journal saying you’ve applied for carers allowance and your waiting to hear from them

Well the wait is over! Mrc and Lrm awarded Friday, the cry of relief when I got off the phone call! Good luck everyone else still waiting!

Bloody fantastic news!! Well worth the wait over the weekend then! So happy for you 💓 and congrats on all the new awards today. Hoping my wait will be over soon one way or the other!!

BeWarmCat · 15/04/2024 11:54

@Fee89 thank you, I might do it later or wait till the morning when ive got his NIN reference and don't have to start work till 10am. Last time I rang during work it took just shy of 2 hours for them to pick up and had to listen to the hold music for over an hour while driving, which nearly sent me under. Shit working full time but it's the only way atm we're keeping our head above water with COL.

Demand a manager calls you back as you have supplied them with the info. What is it with places. They cant seem to add 2+2 😡

Do you think I should?
it’s just not fair is it. Feel like I’m scared to push too much incase I annoy them and they decline the application 😅🙈 xx

100% i think you should. All thats left to do on your claim is add the NI number, click process and done. Its hard enough waiting but to know you have the NI number and had payment from them. They taking the piss 😡

Yeah you’re right. I’ll call back this afternoon and ask to speak to a manager. Absolute joke. Feel like I’ve got so many hurdles at the moment, would be nice to know the outcome of this so I can hopefully cross it off the list and move on to the next thing on my list of chasing people 😅 xx

Thank you. A lady on the phone guided me through it.
She said to leave a note in the journal for the back payments for a case manager. Although there isn't an option for case manager so i put it as payment and started with "for the attention of a case manager"
