1/12 scan date

Phoned at 9 (523) and got straight through.
She has been awarded until Nov 2025.

Her Nino went on file on 28th March (after phoning to tell them we claimed child benefit now, she pulled it through there and then). It went to a DM on 2nd April (bank hol in between).

Good luck to everyone for speedy and positive outcomes for your little ones Xx

That's great news I'm on hold I'm going to tell them I'm now getting child benefit xx

Depending on your outcome I may ring also. Good luck x

I will probably get someone annoyed that I keep calling! haha

Got a text to say my son had been awarded on Friday the 5th, Rang up today to see what the rate was and the guy said "it just says a decision has been made and that's it" Surely if he had been awarded it would say what rate??

What did the text say? There’s 2 different texts they send out both sounds like awards but one is usually a decline, but surely either way they could tell you over the phone

Tiredmummy1235 · 08/04/2024 09:41

"We've decided your son has qualified for disability living allowance. You don't need to contact us about this. We'll send you a letter with all you need to know. If you don't get this in two weeks contact us."

I know it says don't contact but everyone does lol

I would call again, if they have sent the text saying there’s a award then it’s on there system, probably another new call handler you got this morning 🤦‍♀️

With a case manage. Cases taking between 15-16 weeks so shouldn’t be much longer. She acknowledged I’m slightly over that though. So hopefully hear this week.

im not confident I’ll get an award. My son is an excellent masker so no support off his school

Edited

This is my worry too. My son masks massively at school so we've had no support from them either. I feel like it's my word against theirs

Cannotbearsedanymore · 08/04/2024 09:19

@Jadexxx92 Thank you. I will make the dreaded call and see what they say. Thank you again.

Let me know what they tell you. The call operator might not have a clue, say you want them to ask there supervisor yhe situation and they will tell you what to do from there, I hope they can help you

Tiredmummy1235 · 08/04/2024 10:04

@Jadexxx92 they have messaged me a few time saying I should have a answer by 26/03 now they saying there is no time scale 🤦‍♀️ it’s like they haven’t even sent to a DM people only wait a week after it’s been sent to them. I just don’t know what else to do. When speaking to them on the phone they haven’t got a clue. Xx

Yep, I’ve had numerous meetings with them. I asked them for a letter of support and it was shocking. Basically blaming me.

they were shocked when I showed them videos of him getting ready for school, a meltdown after school and general behaviour.

but I can’t fit that all on a dla form! We are awaiting peads for diagnosis but I’m not confident I’ll get it.

Emmajm85 · 08/04/2024 07:52

Morning, I’m going to call child benefit this morning and see if my form is still lost. Depending how long I’m on hold there I’ll try DLA aswell. Really hoping you get good news this morning 🙌🤞🤩 xx

Any joy with child benefit hopefully they found your forms xx

Does your child have an official diagnosis/autism report?
My daughter masks massively at school too which was mentioned in her report. I’m hoping they will take this into consideration when looking at my award too. It’s a proven fact that a lot of autistic children (especially girls) mask at school and then blow up at home after. This is what was in my daughters full report (if it adds as I’m new to this site haha) x

So I've just got off the phone and they have finally received a nino and it's gone back to the case manager so things are starting to move 😂 xx

Summerrabbit · 08/04/2024 10:47

@80smam exactly the same with my autistic DD. The school were absolutely useless & just kept on repeating that she was ‘fine in school.’ She wasn’t even fine there, by year 1 she was having emotional outbursts & becoming more dysregulated. She ended up with burn out & was unable to go back so we’ve had to home ed. Not sure if the DLA team will contact the school in this scenario but I hope they don’t as when they were involved in the EHCP process they basically lied about how amazing they were & blamed us! Totally lost faith in the system now.
