@MrsRawl I agree with @Tasha0429 . Leave it for now and see what your outcome is. It doesnt matter what you sent or way you filled forms you will still over think and question yourself x

Yes thank you, that’s also what I’m thinking. Although I have no idea what happens with an MR, do they decline then give you an opportunity to send further info? I did think about it but I’ve briefly explained things and didn’t want to fill it too much because someone said that they barely read anything and skim over it at best. I’ve got a long wait yet but already second guessing everything I’ve wrote but my sons needs gradually get more with more time that passes, so the stress it causes is awful. Why it takes so long I don’t know 😩 xx

So your basically asking them to reconsider there decision, and you can then add extra evidence and supported letter, you can either do it for over the phone or do it in writing, they do skim everything so I think you've done right, i personally don't think they'd read much of the full day schedule anyway, again they'd skim, because the form is literally that, if your thinking extra evidence because that's what you lack in, any professionals or anyone even your mother can give personal statements and send them in? Sorry it's long, it's so frustrating for everyone isn't it. Please don't worry, I barley had any evidence when I first claimed, just a statement from nursery x

Hi everyone
sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask this
my child was awarded hrc and lrm
i wrote on my journal on universal credit that my child was now getting dla and it’s been 8 days and I’ve still had no response from them
is the next step to call them up?
thank you

Hey you need to report the change yourself on change of circumstances or ring up and get them to do it for some reason when u write on your journal u barely seem to get a response x

MrsRawl · 09/04/2024 22:55

@Fee89 @Tasha0429 thank you both, yes I will leave it and try and ignore it, scan date is 9/2 so I’ve got a long wait. I sent his SALT report which was quite detailed as evidence then just put his teachers details to contact. I think what’s not helping is my mum got a decline today for PIP and I was absolutely gobsmacked, as was her consultant at hospital who did her a fantastic supporting letter with her claim. She’s quite a poorly woman and we was adamant she’d qualify for it. I know they’re both different but kind of the same x

have you changed circumstances? So you need to go to change circumstances and add in the change, then if no response I would definitely ring they take forever otherwise x

I think alot of our daily stress gets moved onto our dla claim/wait which cause us to over think everything. Iv not slept more than 3 hours a night since October and i worry if i missed anything important x

That's the spirit, I think you'll be fine, I think that's perfect evidence personally. Not really it's probably only about 6week wait now 🙏🤞 really? See I think pip is definitely more in depth, I think it's harder for people to get pip, can I ask if she's an older lady? Again if she's at the age of the it's Normal to have problems if that makes sense they'll use it! Get the assessment report it'll give full details on what the asser reported and highlight each point, what you disagree with, then right up do the MR and read out why you disagree! Hope that helps haha xx

Pip is a bit£&!!!! Its all how you write it. If you dont feel as though you a repeating everything then 9/10 your not doing form right. With Pip you need to go into full blown detail like your talking to a child.

First time applying (kept putting it off in favour of the shedload of EHCP admin!).. didn’t really know what evidence to include but put EHCP (which included EP report & diagnosis) and letter from SEN school headteacher. Now worried it might not be enough…

Rudolftheorange · 10/04/2024 02:31

Fee89 · 09/04/2024 17:21

Some will text the outcome but not always. Most likely to see payment in your bank if awarded before you get letter as it can take upto 3 weeks for letter.
More info could be contacting school or dr. Also recently people have been waiting for their childs national insurance number. Also if rejected you can request MR over the phone. If you are starting to worry then do call them even if it puts your mind at rest

Edited

Oh no,I left the child NI blank. I didn’t think children even had NI numbers, no idea what his is!

I was worried about the same but was recently told that EHCP’s are golden for claims as they normally include enough evidence to base an award report on.

It actually says on the application aswell to send in education plans as they may help with making a claim quicker.

Hey, National insurance is the childs ref number. You dont fill that part, do you claim child benefit? If so then you are fine x

Rudolftheorange · 10/04/2024 04:40

We do. That’s reassuring.
