@Summertimego I think it depends on d.m backlog, contact for extra info and if childs national insurance no is required. I know some have been told no update one day then next been told claim is done

I will be ringing at 9am after seeing a few awards today on my scan date and Jan dates. It's really deflating now but at the same time it's such good news for the December ones

SunflowerMummy · 09/04/2024 17:02

I’m new to DLA, so have no idea of the process. I applied for DLA for my daughter and sent the forms in to them on the 18th December. I had this message yesterday by text:

We are still looking at your DLA1 Child claim. When a decision is made we will confirm it in writing. There is no need to contact us about it.

How long can I expect to wait? I see from other posts that lots of people are ringing them. Is that of any benefit, given that I’ve been told not to contact them? I thought I might have heard something by now!

Summertimego · 09/04/2024 17:03

Yeh I’m so pleased for everyone that has been awarded but still disappointing when some was sent in after me 😢 I just want to know the outcome either way

Brandonnn · 09/04/2024 17:07

TheHeadOfTheHouse · 09/04/2024 14:24

I feel sick with worry

Ask to speak to someone senior, they have changed the rules normal call handlers cannot disclose the information I complain and asked to speak to someone senior and was told straight away if I’ve been awarded and what rates. Hope it’s good news for you x

TheHeadOfTheHouse · 09/04/2024 17:08

I got through at 1 hr and 56 mins on hold!

got through to a very helpful lady who told me hes been awarded middle rate care and low rate mobility until Nov 2025, so a 2 year award.

i cant believe it!!!!

That text is standard. Calling up you will be able to ask if there is any hold up or if an award has been made or not

Would they not have said if an award had been made though? Or let me know if any hold-up? I’m clueless as to whether or not I need to get involved. Do you think I need to ring after this length of time? Or will things sort themselves out if I just wait?

katiewil · 09/04/2024 17:20

Got through at 1hour53mins
Spoke to a lovely lady who said it's been on the DMs desk for ages now so she has sent them a message and asked them to look at it tomorrow and to also call me
