Why are dla awards being so short? Iv barley seen any longer than a year x

Scan date is 20/02/2024 and already with a DM?!

In total shock! Will ring back again tomorrow to check in for any updates!

I think I'm going to ring again I didn't feel she gave me much detail 😂

Most claims are with a decision maker for 1-2 weeks before a decision is made x

Not necessarily. My first childs claim was with a DM for a day before he got awarded… this claim is for my second child, and its only been 6 weeks since scan date.

I'm now in a que 😂

Just spoke with Bernie, she was really lovely.
She said that the case is now with the stow team (or something like that) who are the ones responsible for getting the NInos and she could see that mine is now with a specific person in that team who will obtain the number before sending it back to a DM for the final decision to be made. Another couple of weeks wait she said. She said she would message them again, I asked her not to just incase it annoys them and they decline the application 😂 she said that wouldn’t happen and was definitely worth a little nudge after the lengthy wait. She was really lovely xx

Oh really I haven’t heard anyone get a decision so quickly and I’ve been following these threads for quite some time? I got a message on 25th march saying it’s with a DM and still waiting for a decision x

Me too I had Kim last time and she just said it's with a DM and they go to a DM at 15 weeks which wasn't very helpful as I'm now at 20 weeks 😂 xx

Hi, I was awarded 13th march, I updated my uc journal and in my next payment 21st received the disability element but not the carers element , I’ve left multiple messages on my journal and rang them? Is it just a waiting game. How long have people waited and will the carers be put on next month x

Mine took 16 weeks , my scan date was 29th Nov and got awarded on the 22nd march. So unfortunately you have a long wait ahead. Good luck to you x

I called at 9 this morning, the man I spoke to told me it's not even been looked at yet and didn't know when it was due to be, was very short and blunt, so when he hung up I immediately redialled (😬) and got through to a lovely lady who couldn't have been more helpful, Scan date was 7/12,
Decision was made on the 30th for MRC untill 6th December 2025,
So happy as was certain it was a decline,
I can now get my daughter the private counselling she desperately needs!
Can anyone advise me how I can claim the carers element on UC?
I've got my fingers crossed for everyone still waiting to hear 🤞🤞 xx

i think it’s because everyone has different circumstances, so children with more severe needs get prioritised first (I’ve been told this by management). My first childs scan date was 01/12. He was awarded at 13 weeks, after being with a DM for a day. My second childs scan date is 20/02/2024 and is already with a DM. Soooo hopefully I’ll get a decision too.

It’s pointless them giving that sort of info. We were told that 5 weeks ago KIM!! 😬😂

That’s not necessarily true… my first child got awarded a day of his case being with a DM. It all depends on the child’s circumstances and how severe their needs are… those cases get prioritised first (been told this by management)..

I know blooming Kim 😂 I also rung child benefit and it's not on there system yet but they can see it's in a que xx
