Scan date 09/10
Started phoning last week for updates
Went to DM on 09/02, decision made 14/02
Backpay in my account this morning.
I rang to check all of this and was waiting 14 minutes at 11:30am this morning. Lovely lady again who read through all the reasons for the rate I was given (I am going for MR as I don't feel it is correct for my son's needs)
I've rang 3 times and always been extremely lucky with who I have spoke to. I am now preparing for mr as there has been a significant change in the last month but I was advised to wait and see the outcome and if it was mrc and lrm then I would have been happy. I ended up with lrc and no mobility. It's disheartening but they can only go by what is written down on paper

Good luck to all those still waiting, don't give up

I'm 13.2.24 so ages off but iv only sent in school write up on all his support that is needed at school, he needs the same at home which is what iv obviously written. He's awaiting an adhd assessment and has sever behaviour problems which I find harder to prove have a put enough? Behaviour is happening in 2 different settings but he's got no plans in place as such. Sending off for ehcp ready for high school September x

@Brusselsprouts21 the good thing is with Mr if they do decide to over turn the decision and award you middle rate or high rate care & mobility then they will back date it to the start of your claim make sure when you ask for a MR you say it’s because you don’t believe the rates to be correct if this is the case and his/her care needs haven’t just changed recently and you believe your child should been awarded MRC or HRC which ever one u feel she should be and also should of been awarded mobility due to these reasons and explain and send in more evidence if you have it to hand because if you mention his care needs have changed recently and he now requires more Since applying then they will only award you that rate from when notified of care needs changing and will not back date to start of claim As this happened to my friend good luck and hope my advice has helped xx

Can we write on our UC journal for an update on our claim? I had no idea we could do this! Or have I got the completely wrong end of the stick 🙈 scan date 2/11 x

No you have to ring them for an update. The UC bit that people are talking about is that if you’re awarded DLA you can request they add (and backdate) disabled child element to your claim. If you’re also caring 35 hours a week or more for them then you can request that they add and backdate carer element too. But the whole thing is a ridiculous faff! Haha

3/11 following from previous threads 😊 congratulations everyone who has been awarded so far xxx

Edited

same scan date as you. Hoping to hear soon!

ThatsGoingToHurt · 16/02/2024 05:41

Parking. I sent the forms off on 1/11. I’ve mislaid the letter but I’m guessing my scan date is around 8/11. Rang up yesterday to let them know that my LA is doing an EHC needs assessment on my son. At the time I asked if the additional information I sent in at the start of Jan had been attached to my sons claim and it hadn’t so the lady attached it. Was too nervous to ask if was with a DM as it was already 17:15 and I had been on queuing for an hour.

Sunflower1808 · 16/02/2024 06:03

@ThatsGoingToHurt when did you send your extra evidence?, i sent mine and it was received the 23rd jan(signed for recorded) and they still havent put it on my claim. They said they have a huge backlog of post so worried it wont be on there by the time it goes to the DM x

ThatsGoingToHurt · 16/02/2024 06:21

@Sunflower1808 I send it the first week of Jan by special delivery. The lady could see if on the system but apparently it hadn’t been ‘attached’ to my orginal claim form on the system. Part of me wonders if my claim is with a DM and she thought ‘oh shit this piece of information is not with the DM’ and it literally took her two seconds.

Sunflower1808 · 16/02/2024 06:25

@ThatsGoingToHurt i has a man tell me the day after it was there but not scanned, then 3 differnt ladys tell me its not on the system, the last one even asked me for my tracking number and said oh yes it is here (i had already said i know its there) which worried me a bit that its with a DM and its not even been opened and looked at yet x

mummyof3girlsx · 16/02/2024 06:49

@Mothertothreeboys @Sally120 I’m 2/11 hopefully not long now x

mummyof3girlsx · 16/02/2024 06:50

@tiredmum1989 ohhh I get it! I was going to say surely not 😂 thanks for clearing that up!! Xx

mummyof3girlsx · 16/02/2024 07:02

Good luck today for all decisions 👏🏼 x

Hi guys also everyone confused on scan dates and people getting awarded after and before when I rang today I mentioned this and how it was all so confusing and unfair and they explained it by it goes off the day you ring up also for example if you rang up on the 9th of September to request forms and you took the full 6 weeks to send your forms back then your scan date would be late October begining November compared to someone who rang up on the 15th September and only took 1 week to send them back then your scan date will be around beginning of October but the person who took the 6 weeks would of been waiting longer he did say it’s between 17-20 weeks from the day you request your forms before your decision is made not sure how true this is but hope this helps x

I still think they are telling everyone different things🤣
I called for forms 30th aug
scan date 16th oct
rang Monday to be told I was at 17weeks which is exactly 17weeks from 16.10.
if they count it from when I called for forms I’d be at 23 weeks….
I don’t think any of the call handlers seem to know the right answer🤣

WhereDidTheTimeGo888 · 16/02/2024 07:34

@RainsbowandBunnies I went to read back through my forms about a month ago and actually thought, why the hell have I put that when it’s the opposite! I stopped reading them and just thought, hope for the best. Hopefully like you say I’ll get an understanding DM but we’ll see. 🤞🏻 xx

WhereDidTheTimeGo888 · 16/02/2024 07:37

@Sallyt7110 your dates are all around the same as mine
called 29/08
scanned 12/10
with a DM

🤞🏻we hear something soon and it’s good news. Good luck with yours. X

Good luck. Not sure if mines with a DM yet. Wonder if the DM will call before making a decision?

WhereDidTheTimeGo888 · 16/02/2024 07:57

@Sallyt7110 i was thinking the same and then I could at least better explain how things are. I’m sure yours will be with a DM if they’re awarded Nov dates. Hopefully not much longer for us.

RainsbowandBunnies · 16/02/2024 08:04

@WhereDidTheTimeGo888 honestly I know how you feel especially if you've got the form to look back on can't believe I didn't keep any copy of what I put.
If theres updates you can always phone and update that's what I did, they always made a note on the system and said the DM would consider I think without that I would've been awarded less or not at all. For example had 1st app with post diagnostic team and awaiting night meds review app with specialist - GP can't prescribe
Really really hoping the best for you @bonz2023
@mummyof3girlsx and everyone else ❤️

WhereDidTheTimeGo888 · 16/02/2024 08:09

@RainsbowandBunnies I wish I didn’t have copies of the forms😂

I’ve sent in extra evidence twice and phoned up to update he hasn’t been to school since Christmas.

Hopefully you’re right. 🤞🏻

mummyof3girlsx · 16/02/2024 08:11

@RainsbowandBunnies yes exactly, I called to let them know that she had been accepted for an assessment.. appointment to follow- didn’t have a letter as this was done all over the phone, the guy was really nice and said he’s added it all to the system so fingers crossed 🙈 really hope not much longer now! Will wait to see if any other nov dates today and I might cave and call 😣 @bonz2023 x

Tiredmummy1235 · 16/02/2024 08:26

Morning everyone. Really in two minds about calling. Scan date 9/11 but this wait is driving me round the bend. I just want to know if it’s even with a DM just got a feeling am going to have to ready for a MR. I sent off my daughters Ed psych report and her draft EHCP. Still haven’t got the final since before Christmas. Just don’t know if it will be a waste of time.

Our scan date is 19/10, has been with DM just over a week & was told yesterday I should have a decision any day now! Good luck everyone x

Tiredmummy1235 · 16/02/2024 08:31

@LancsMcG some people seem to slipping in from November seen a couple of November dates awarded. It just really is crazy the wait.
