I posted my son's reform on 5/2 but haven't heard anything yet. Is this normal? I'm not expecting a decision but I thought I would get a letter saying they had received it.

Yes you should of received a letter about a couple of weeks after they received it

Chattaway88 · 23/03/2024 00:36

Hi need help applied for dla for my 6 month old just before Christmas 2023 just as he was turning 12 weeks old dla said the received form on the 29th December but wanted his birth certificate which I did a recorded delivery which the received beginning of February. The 3 months waiting is today and haven't heard anything back

Mummyboy10 · 23/03/2024 07:15

Hey I received a back payment on Tuesday, it took 16 weeks and five days, my award letter came on Friday. Did you all know that if you receive child tax credits you get double tax credit for the child in receipt of dla I rang them yesterday they also back date it on the day dla received your form so mine goes back to November 22nd of last year they say I should receive a large payment next week.

Yes you can get a set amount child tax credits for medium rate DLA and abit more if your child gets high rate DLA, not alot of people know about this extra payment

Chattaway88 · 23/03/2024 10:23

We're about 2 to 3 weeks behind you then. Tax pay for unlimited amount of children don't they or is it only the the first get tax credits. Thanks for replying. This is our firth born and the third child with disabilities so we know the score but just wanted to know how much longer it would be lol thanks for replying

Chattaway88 · 23/03/2024 10:42

My wife said we had tax credits with our third born with high rate dla unfortunately he past away two and half years ago at 18 months old.

I applied for DLA for my son on the 22/1 I received an acknowledgement letter around the 10/2. I have then received another letter saying "were sorry its taking so long we hope to have an answer within 15 weeks" on the 10/3, is it 15 weeks from 10/3 or 15weeks from 10/2?
I'm new to this and it is super confusing!

Lou84lou · 23/03/2024 20:57

@elliejmad its 15 weeks from 22/1

elliejmad · 23/03/2024 20:59

Thankyou, it’s very confusing!

Hi
my scan date is 22nd dec 23 x

anyone before me got rewarded yet ? X

Lou84lou · 24/03/2024 07:05

@aalia1 with that scan date you’ll have to remember they’ll have taken off work from the 23-27 (at least) for Christmas then most probably 1-2 January off too, so might take yours a bit longer

Kayness1988 · 24/03/2024 15:32

My sons scan date is 22nd Dec aswell. Got the sorry we have not given you a decision on your claim letter too. Nothing since 🙄

aalia1 · 24/03/2024 22:12

Taking too long,
it’s been 9 weeks now
still got more weeks to go.

elliejjtiny · 25/03/2024 13:33

Thankyou @Lou84lou and @SWood88 . On hold now waiting to speak to someone. Been nearly an hour, argh.

elliejjtiny · 25/03/2024 13:48

Finally got through and they haven't lost it, hooray! Should be with the decision maker by the beginning of June.

TimeForTeaAndMe · 25/03/2024 14:07

Oh dear I only posted our forms 15/3 had no idea people are waiting longer than 20 weeks.

Last time it only took around 13weeks..but that was 8yr ago 🤦🏻‍♀️

May as well forget about it for a few months rather than stress or worry. I do hope all those who have been waiting since last year hear something soon 🤞

I’ve just called them for an update, my scan date was 10/12. She said they haven’t made a decision yet and it’s taking around 16 weeks. So fingers crossed should hear very soon!

Your better off just forgetting about till 20 weeks plus ATM. My friend works for them and there's nothing you can do too rush ut along . My sons claim took 24 weeks all in all then longer too sort out uc tax credits carers ect . Then they over pay you so you have too pay it back lol the whole systems a mess

Hi, I'm new to this site...

I applied for DLA for my middle child. Recieved a letter in January saying they had received in December and starting to process it, I then received another letter saying they are still dealing with my claim.
I'm currently in week 13 of the 15weeks they said it could take..
Would it be worth ringing to see where they are at with the claim or do I wait?

Thanks

Hi I’m on week 16, I called yesterday and the automated message basically said to leave it until it’s been 20 weeks. Here’s hanging on for another 4 weeks lol

Jodess · 27/03/2024 11:29

DLA -

I got a letter dated 7th March, from DLA apologising that it is taking so long. I’m just wondering if any of you got this letter and when you did, when did you then get your decision? Thank you :)

Nevesmummy21 · 27/03/2024 15:37

Just had a text saying my child qualifies for DLA doesn't say which rate though. Has anyone had this before? And how long after the text did you get the payment?
