I’ve just checked and what looks like backdated DLA has been paid into my account - so I’m thinking HRC has been agreed after i submitted a mandatory reconsideration. I had also requested HRM
in view of his dangerous behaviour (he has a blue badge for this reason) - if this was agreed would they pay it in at the same time? Does this mean the HRM was refused? Thanks xx

Hi hun what was your scan date for the mr?

Squishmallow01 · 16/01/2025 19:52

Hi, has anyone got any experience of going to tribunal for DLA? Do they use all the evidence you’ve already sent or do you need to start from scratch? Thanks xx

I have and they use all the information you have already given they not interested in now they want to know the child’s needs from when you submitted the form you can send more information if you like ours was a good outcome but it wasn’t face to face it was a 4 way telephone

Squishmallow01 · 19/01/2025 18:39

@Stacey0909 thanks for your reply! How long did the process take for you? My original DLA claim took 20 weeks, then another 23 weeks for the mandatory reconsideration decision xx

Hey ladies. I got my sons review letter April 2024, it was just yes or no have our circumstances changed. I’ve never heard anything back & just got a letter from motability about renewing the car so I phoned dla to ask about his claim and was told there’s a backlog I’ll hear in due time about a decision. It’s been 9 months 😬 I’m really worried now incase it’s rejected and I’ll be 9 months in debt. Has anyone else’s taken this long

I thought they continue to pay you the DLA until they review, then at that point it may be withdrawn, kept the same or increased depending on their decision?
Surely they can't expect you to pay it back retrospectively?

Has anyone ever had an overpayment due to a reduction in dla when the review has been completed and they continued to pay up until the end of the claim date?

This was a good few year ago during Covid it took a year to get to the tribunal

Squishmallow01 · 20/01/2025 11:27

@Stacey0909 a year, wow. Is this the usual timeframe or do you think it was delayed due to Covid? xx

Selio · 23/01/2025 20:53

Hey,
Does anyone know if you get a letter off dla when they have received your mandatory reconsideration letter? Wondering if I need to ring them and ask if they have received it

TW78 · 05/02/2025 12:18

riverislandjeans · 05/02/2025 15:02

Just wanted to update incase anyone is in similar situation...

I sent my renewal 21st Nov 24, I called today to see if I could get an update as claim ends 7/3/25.

Told a decision was made yesterday and to wait for the letter which will be 7-10 days. I asked for decision over the phone but she couldn't tell me.

Hi this is completely different but my oartner gets carers and so do uc take 2 amounts of 392 out of uc for having carers i get the care element but upon noticing my partner has never recieved this has i thought only one of us can recieve it if joint claim hes been getting this deducted from our uc 12th August 2022 since he got carers but only being told now both can recueve the element not just one of us so is it worth telling uc about it and woukd they back date it back from 2022 because by right they have been taking the deduction since 2022 and I informed them whwn he got carers but he's never had the care element added to our uc account

Hey,
I've recently done a MR, you need to write back to them, put as much details as to why you think the decision they made was wrong with more evidence if you can, and send that off.
When I spoke to the woman on the phone she said it can take up to 25wks, but on the letter I've received to say that have received the MR states 11wks (just think they haven't updated the timeline)

Hope this helps 🙂

I wasn’t building my hopes as I heard babies rarely get DLA he was born with a disability and needs more care he is 10 month now but I can image the letter saying doesn’t require any more support than a baby would normal need

You can call up and chose option 4 and let them know you haven't received a letter can they please update you with outcome they will probably read the letter to you if there is one x
