Just starting a new thread as the old one will run out soon

OP posts:

I did a coc for low rate mobility, forms received on the 25th of March, woke up today with money in my bank, so I called dla and they backdated it from the week after he turned 5 in December! They also extended his award to 2030! So glad not have to do a renewal at the end of this year. Goodluck everyone who's still waiting

My scan date 5/04 hun so I feel you. I think it varies it depends on how much evidence and things they have to go through your case x

Jess0991 · 23/07/2024 11:24

Hopefully hear something soon , have you heard anything from yours , so frustrating x

I honestly feel for anyone waiting, if they feel the way i have since last week it's horrible. I hope you hear something soon! My sons claim was received 5/04 and i had a letter saying so and then i got another letter end of may saying they were still looking and heard nothing since. I haven't rang yet but think I may need to, I believe it's the no communication that affects me so much. Can I ask what number you used to ring please x

Jess0991 · 23/07/2024 11:51

Of course the number I ring 0800 121 4600

Nadey24 · 23/07/2024 15:08

Sorry could I just ask, did you fill in the whole form again for coc? And your award was extended? Or did you just fill in mobility part and whole award extended too? (Hope that makes sense😆)

I only filled in the mobility part, I just ticked no change to his care needs, i wasn't expecting such a lengthy award as he was initially only awarded for 2 years

SENtwinmum · 23/07/2024 18:40

@Snoweymum thank you ☺️ I've just done a coc for one of my girls hoping for HRM (although I'm not hopeful judging by everything ive seen about how hard it is to get) and did the same as you, ticked no change to care needs.. was hoping for a longer award as hers runs out next November (this is her second award and only 2 years each time) so 🤞🏼 how long did your COC take if you don't mind me asking please?

They received my forms on the 25th of March, so it was 17 weeks 1 day, I rang them this morning because it was a bit more money then I was expecting, I thought you only got pay back from when they received the forms but they backdated it from his 5th birthday

xxStacey · 24/07/2024 10:47

So on the 19th of June DLA requested my sons birth certificate, and on the 27th of June I sent it back, I have called up every week to see if they have recieved and processed it but nothing yet. How long does it take them to scan birth certificates? I have a feeling mine has been lost 😅

Mummyof3safire · 24/07/2024 13:05

Hi, I get DLA for my boy and as he's now turned 3 I've applied for the mobility part of DLA too, I sent the forms off over 2 months ago, does anybody me know how long it will take to get a decision? I already get the carers element for him

Just checking I’ve got this right
when I applied for DLA ages ago for my son, do they consider mobility as part of that at the same time on the same application or is that a separate application? Thanks xx

Emmagbgbgbgb · 25/07/2024 18:13

Scan date 25/03 I have had a phone call today from decision maker he asked me two questions one was I didn’t tick a box other was how much help my son has at school he said he will have made a decision by tomorrow and I should received outcome in the post within 2 weeks!

TimeForTeaAndMe · 25/07/2024 22:33

We had a text yesterday confirming ds has been granted DLA. letter will arrive in next two weeks.

Took 18 weeks give or take a few days.

Honestly couldn't have come at a better time. Such a weight off knowing how much extra help ds will need come September. Joining new specialist school. Do hope everyone gets the news they have been waiting for. It can be such a stressful time 🙏💐

Is this new claim or mr ? X

PLouise9 · 29/07/2024 20:54

Applied for DLA for my Daughter. Scan date is 12/04. I've sent extra evidence on 26/06. All I've had from them is 2 letters saying "they're still looking at my case" I've had no texts from them whatsoever. Has anybody else experienced this? (New claim)

Squishmallow01 · 29/07/2024 21:09

It all seems so hit and miss and no uniform standard repsonse. My scan date was early April, I had a letter ages ago saying they’d received it, and that’s it. I’ve called recently to chase it up and been told it’s waiting to be looked at, so not even with decision makers yet.

Squishmallow01 · 29/07/2024 21:10

Some people have received two letters, some people have received texts, some people have been asked for birth certificates…..I have literally received one letter in 17 weeks

Mummaof4neurodivergent2non · 29/07/2024 21:12

Hiya been lurking for months my daughter’s scan date is 18.4 had 2 letters one of we have received your form type and taking 15 weeks and one sorry we haven't made a decision yet no texts
sent in many additional pieces of new evidence despite sending alot with form initially
Too scared to call as I suffer with anxiety in general really does cause alot of stress

Fingers crossed be our turn soon part of the stress is the not knowing whether need to fight on or will be able to finally get our children what they are entitled to
