Hello Ladies,

I am new here. My 10y old son has ASD and he had a DLA few years ago, but than I had to send them new renewal form , but it was during the covid time so I didn't. I was stupid because than I forget about and they were stopped DLA.
Finally this year I applied for new one and I received letter that they have my application and it was scanned on 6/6/24.
Still I am waiting for any news, I am in big financial trouble and I have a big hope for fast decision.
Good luck all u loves mummies with fast getting of positive decisions for DLA for your little ones!! Xx

If you phone up and explain your finances they might be able to do something if not you have a long wait as its about 16-20 week wait

Starlight0212 · 14/07/2024 20:55

They have put it down as COC but end of May I got HRC no mobility so fighting for that for my nearly 3 year old, I thought it was going down as MR but in fact it went down as COC 7/06, original scan date is 5/02 and got awarded 22/05, have you heard about anything yet with yours

I got message saying 4 week I was happy then letter saying 15 week 🤦‍♀️ then I called couldnt even tell me day or how many weeks 😂

From 4 to 15??? That’s ridiculous . I’m sure they do most of these time frames to try and stop us from calling x

How old is your little one, I never got awarded it so COC going for it again. It's ment to be so hard under SMI rule, I have sent in a load of evidence to get HRM but will go tribunal if I need to

Squishmallow01 · 15/07/2024 13:15

He’s 4, so impulsive, no danger awareness, I have to hold onto him everywhere we go, if he runs me and my daughter have to
run after him which is obviously dangerous as she’s only little too, I’ve heard it’s very unusual to be awarded high rate mobility for autism even though as his mum I know how bloody hard going even out the front door is, so I was just wondering how others have got on with that side of the claim xx

Sarahoscar · 15/07/2024 14:21

I know it's hard but not impossible, as I know a few people that have it under the same reasons but I will see if I can get it I have a lot of backing up evidence to claim HRM but depends I guess on what they actually looking for even though I have all the criteria for it, are you gonna try and claim it?

It all depends as they will get a pile and how far down the pile you are, if they have enough to make a decision or if they need more evidence, when I was with a decision maker it was awarded the following day, some can be hours, some can be days then worse can be weeks and will wait for school or Dr's to get in contact so all depends that's why they say 16 - 20 weeks

Sarahoscar · 15/07/2024 17:25

Congratulations! My scan date is 5th April which is 2 weeks after hours so seeing this has given me a little bit of hope! Did you ring atall during the process just to see if you could find out what was going on? On 15 weeks this weeks and the silence is becoming unbearable and with my little boy and his breakdowns I need to repair holes in walls and replace/repair beds and other furniture in his room and being a single parent with no other adult support I’m so beyond just ‘getting by’. Congratulations again for being awarded I can only imagine you were feeling the same until now too.

Thank you. I can understand your situation.
I did rang them soon after 15 weeks and i was told to wait till 20 weeks. But i knew that i will be paid today (on this DLA pay date) because I think they are paying in the up coming Pay date, soon after the 15 weeks have passed and mine was today (at 17th week).

Herecomestheson0106 · 16/07/2024 17:27

In case anyone is waiting on MR - my scan date was 28/03 and decision was made on 12/06. Award went from absolutely nothing to HRC so hopefully gives some hope to anyone going through the same!
