Hey everyone. I requested forms on 17/03/24 and sent off 18/05/24. Wasn’t expecting them to backdate due to it being late however I received a letter 2 weeks later stating they received the forms on 17/03? Does this mean it’ll still be backdated? I then received another letter 2 weeks after that saying it’s still being looked into and then a text today saying the same thing.

Hi I’m still waiting to hear back they received my renewal forms on 6th of March and it’s due to end on the 23rd June does anyone know what I do about the claim for carers on uc do I need to contact them and let them know I’m waiting to here back

My scan date was march 22nd and I recieved a text today saying my daughter qualified and a letter is in the post I should recieve it in ten days . I then phoned up and asked what rate she was on and they refused too tell me anything about the claim over the phone . Has anyone else rang and asked and been told no ? Strange

I called for an update and was told a decission has been made & if I wanted to know about it they will need to trandfer me to the service centre where the decission makers are, which I said I would like to be transferred. I was then given the explanation of the award over the phone. So you need to tell them that you want to speak to someone who can discuss your claim

Evening everyone ,
I applied for my daughter back on the 23rd January, it was scanned on the 20th March but I called on Friday and they said If I don’t hear by 7th August to call back up is anyone else waiting since these dates ?

That's a long wait? Is it your first claim or a renewal? First time claims are taking very long atm but if you are succesful it will be backdated to your scan date

Amber2802 · 21/06/2024 10:16

Sent DLA renewal off last Saturday - should I get a text to say when they’ve received it or do I need to call? Any ideas of current wait times. Thanks xx

Stacey0909 · 21/06/2024 16:59

it's faster if you have less evidence but if you have more evidence it's longer but rewarding. Less evidence unsuccessful...

I'm just about to send off my daughters DLA form tomorrow. First time applying for her. Is the wait still around 20 weeks?

YES

Squishmallow01 · 22/06/2024 20:53

@SereneWriter are you saying if you send less evidence you’ll get a decision quicker but if you send as much evidence as possible you’re more likely to be awarded higher rate?

What's classed as loads of evidence? What's classed as less? I'm confused 🤔

EHCP Plans, School Behaviour Reports, SEN, Ongoing follow-up appointments, Medication etc all are classed as strong evidence. If any changes just update them. Weak evidence would be a School Timetable detailing their classes-not really relevant. Since you're seeing if they're entitled for the Care/Mobility elements. Those reports will match the entitlement if that makes sense???

New Medication to support their condition is also strong medical evidence

SereneWriter · 23/06/2024 17:24

You'll get a decision just lower award or no award in some cases as it's really about the evidence. Since this is a case after all they refer to the legal regulations and base majority of the weight of the evidence towards that Law. I know since I read the letter and they said "in reference to the law .... " so i understood why...

Thank you 😊 oh well looks like I'm in for a long wait then 😢, scan date 25/03/24

Squishmallow01 · 23/06/2024 20:18

i sent off my sons application on 22nd March, called and was told they received this on 3rd April. I then sent off his EHCP as it got finalised and the next correspondence I got was a letter saying they had received my application on 23rd April.
so what is my scan date? 3rd April or 23rd April? Not heard anything else…..any idea when I might get a decision?!

Squishmallow01 · 23/06/2024 20:20

Also if his EHCP details him having zero danger awareness and very high impulsivity requiring supervision at all times, and his day starts between 4-4.30am and I need to be up with him to supervise him, does this sound like middle or higher rate care needs? Does 4-4.30am count as night time?

Yeah I sent my son's 15th March and they received it 25th (put on system) I have recently sent a lot more evidence, new medication, psychiatrist reports , school reports SEN, my son is currently not in school, psychiatrist has deemed him to fit for this also for home tutoring ect, I sent all extra evidence signed for next day delivery so hoping to hear soon this is a first claim x

Starlight0212 · 23/06/2024 23:47

It not down to the evidence it’s down to you caring for the children yes evidence show them that your child has a problem but evidence don’t show how much care you support your child if that make sense Iv got child who got bowel syndrome and as adhd and autism and ehcp and medical health plan and need her own bag changing in school and at home plus all medical people involved and was turn down for dla child my claim was 18 Jan Mr 15 may it down to the person you get on that day even video evidence which I uploaded on to sd card sent at the end of this I know if it go to court we gonna be the ones who laugh at the end make sure you fill in how long it take you to care for your child how different the child is to the same age as child who needs more support hope this make sense

I'm sorry you got turned down, fingers crossed for the Mr, the wait is diabolical, I will also dispute it if I get turned down , my son is diagnosed OCD , psychosis, and is on right to choose pathway for autism, he has a psychiatrist, a psychosis team and intensive home treatment team, he is on 3 lots of meds and therapy 4 x a week , he needs 24 hour supervision daily life is a real struggle, I also have a 17 year old daughter with autism x

Amber2802 · 24/06/2024 14:23

I haven’t had a text to confirm they’ve received renewal form. Keep being told I’m going through to the wrong department!! Is it the normal number?

SereneWriter · 24/06/2024 14:40

I can’t believe this some agents on the line are so passive aggressive… one just said that I can’t be bothered to work and I have no skill set just because I didn’t know what “appointee” meant and I stupidly told them that I rely on DLA to pay for my bills and I can’t work. I will be reporting I felt like crap I wish I didn’t have to do this

Audreyp12345 · 26/06/2024 06:35

Yes hunni have you had your back yet ?? My date for decision is 11th July so hoping it's here anyway now as that's the date they have put on letter ,
This has been brutal all this stress we all could do without xx
