Hi all I got my decision back I've been accepted for low mobility and no care component scan date 13.01.2024
I am putting a MR in for the care part as I feel my child needs extra help and support he is awake all hours even when he is on sleepers and adhd medication lucky if get 4 hours a night he is very hyper and has frequent meltdowns what can last up to hour or two he hits out all the time he actually kicks and punches my 3 year old I constantly have to break up fights replacing televisions his ipad everything he is 10 years old can't read or write has some speech delay list goes on would they stop the low mobility if I put in for MR for care
Thank you in advance

Fakeunicorn · 30/04/2024 13:09

My documents were scanned at 29th Dec. Just spoke with DLA and renewal claim is still in process. They don't know how long it will take.

ADT13 · 03/05/2024 11:33

I have a friend who also applied for Disability Living Allowance for their child, and they received their response exactly in the 15th week.
As for our situation, we had our scan in mid-February, so hopefully, we will hear something soon. 🤞

OneTiredMumma84 · 03/05/2024 15:21

Hey,
if my child gets a diagnosis whilst waiting for his DLA decision do I have to call to update? Will the claim have to start all over again?

Hi,
You will need to send them asap the report diagnosis. After a week or two call to confirm.
We had to do the same.

Thank you. I doubt his ASD assessment will be done before DLA but his camhs report should be done next week or 2 so will know what the outcome is hopefully. Thank you again.

I called yesterday to make sure my forms had been received. They have and are on the system and in the decision makers queue, he advised me there is currently a backlog and decisions are taking roughly 15 weeks. Your pay won’t be back dated to when you requested paperwork if they didn’t not get returned In time by the date they gave you.
my sons school had his form to fill a part in for me and the teacher dealing with it was on leave longer than expected which delayed me getting to Citizen advice to complete the form. Mine arrived 7 days after the allocated time🤦🏻‍♀️ but was sent special delivery the day after I got my help to fill in. Sent 12/04 scan date 15/04 . Been asked not to ring back before the beginning of august.

does anyone know if my son is diagnosed or new meds in the meantime do I have to ring up and update his claim?

If you have extra evidence to support your claim then definitely send it in so it can all be looked at x

Starlight0212 · 09/05/2024 14:52

Hi everyone my scan date 18 Jan Iv called today for update they told me on the phone decision as been made but wouldn’t tell me they said letter was sent on 7 may and to wait 10 days for the letter anyone else had this

Mumof4eami · 09/05/2024 18:03
