Accessories for maclaren major

I have bought ds2 an old style one off ebay while we fight to get him one from wheelchair services.Does any one know if you can get accesories to fit.We really need a rain cover and some kind of cosy toes.

I've got the padded seat cover, shopping basket, sunshade and raincover from them. It was the cheapest place I found. The only thing is you have to have the sunshade as you can't use the raincover without it which is a bit of a pain as a/ it's quite bulky and b/ you feel a bit daft walking about in wintry weather with a sunshade on your buggy! Also it makes it quite a bit more expensive.

Still, the service was quite good and the accessories are very smart. I think there were two colour choices although I just got the one to match the buggy i've got. HTH

SORRY just realised you wanted for the old style. Assume they would still fit but you might want to contact them first to ask.

I brought one off ebay, it doesn't require the sunshade to use the raincover (as the ones made by Maclaren do) you can see one here

Old style and new style do not fit each other. Maclaren were to only way to source the old style and they were v unhelpful to me

mieow, now I'm annoyed! I looked everywhere for a raincover like that and couldn't find one so I assumed they didn't exist. I even asked in a couple of posh baby shops and they looked in their catalogues and couldn't find anything.

Boohoo I'm jealous!!

I have the new style buggy too, and it fits fine, only thing is its hard to get on, but the buggy flods with it still on

Mieow can you fold the pram without taking it off.We are always folding our buggy drives me mad.
Lou did you manage to get anything from maclaren is there any point in trying.

Anybody know where you can get a large cosy toes.

yep the major buggy will fold with it now, very handy!! as my buggy is always folded in the boot of my car till needed (not much now DD1 is at school)

Great just need something to keep him warm.
I am also worried about the fact it only has a lap belt as ds2 is only 2 1/2.

Don't know if it would fit do they attach to the frame. I also don't know how to contact them can't find a phone number.

Just realised you meant the pushchair ot has said they dont think that they coulsd justify the use of funds as other children need one more than he does .
I havn't given up yet though.

have you applied to the family fund, not sure of your child's dignosis, but you can buy the Major from mothercare

I saw that one last night have been watching them but they have been selling for a about a £100. I can't help but think if I am going to spend that I may as well buy a new one anyway so I know it isn't on it's last legs.

Had a look at the family fund but we are just above there income threshold I don't know if the fact that we have 4 children would mean that they may consider us.

also, my friends dad works at the wheelchair clinic, I could ask her if he can get a newer one thats been returned (as they don't reuse them here, normally get sent to the special needs schools) if you could have it, if you like!

That would be wonderful .
He can walk but falls over a lot and gets tired really easily.He has problems with his balance and muscle tone.

do they know what has caused that? Or are they just saying GDD? I ask because my DD1 has GDD and Cerebral palsy (which caused the GDD) You could apply to Children today or Whizzkidz, or even Scope who have a fundfinder software to find pople who can fund this things, have you asked your Physio to refer you?

His consultant suspected cp but his mri was clear.
Ds2's physio is hopeless we are taking him for a private assesment this afternoon.

Right, I know people who have children with CP but clear MRI, You could ask to be referral to GOSHs neurologist dept, they diagnosed DS and gave a second option on DD1. With a diagnosis of CP you will be able to get the equiment and help you need. BTW your physio sounds very much like my old one, she didn't come round and do physio on the kids, refused to refer DS back to the wheelchair clinic to get a wheelchair etc etc. Our new one is lovely
