Did Gess really delete her membership

I sincerely hope that you didn't Gess. And I hope you're loitering with intent to return if you did.

I have to say you have my utmost respect, you have taught me much, not that you wish to be a teacher. You have been unfailingly helpful and kind. There have been times when you have acknowledged my input positively and I have felt really proud.

You are an extremely important part of this site to me. I know that we do not cross paths as often as in the past. I know that this is not the place you wish it to be any more.

Even if you don't return, I hope you understand that you are valued and respected.

would like to add my support for gess

our paths don;t cross too much on here, but what i know of her is that she is a compassionate person, who takes the time to share her knowledge and experiences in a non judgemental way

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 28/09/2007 18:04

Right so... was it that one by KerryMum going on about people following her around MN in order to attack her??! Was she accusing Gess then?

I didn't post on it so couldn't find it even if it hasn't been deleted..

pagwatch · 28/09/2007 18:07

"....how utterly, utterly weird. of all the people who could do with a slap on here... gess just isn't one of them."

Yes. I agree. Totally

Tamum · 28/09/2007 18:09

I really don't think it's helpful to speculate as I said earlier, but since Shiny has said it, yes, that's why. Gess is fine but just wasn't willing to put up with all this.

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 28/09/2007 18:12

Sorry. I just wanted to ascertain why Gess was gone as did everyone I expect.

No comment to make about all of that.. I just really really hope she reads this thread and comes back. It's such a shame to lose Gess (and she us) because of all that..

Come back Gess! You are a mine of information and a fountain of support.

Tamum · 28/09/2007 18:14

Oh sorry Shiny, it wasn't aimed at you, just in general. I thought it was better left unsaid but to be honest if people are going to speculate, as is human nature, then it's just as well to have it out in the open I guess.

2shoes · 28/09/2007 18:18

trouble is when someone as kind as helpful as gess leaves people are bound to what to know why.

Tamum · 28/09/2007 18:19

I know, I just didn't want this thread to go pear-shaped too

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 28/09/2007 18:22

I know I said I had nothing to say about that (in the interests of thread not going pear shaped!) but the whole thing is really so unfortunate. KerryMum is not usually a controversial MNer who pisses people off.

I expect the fact that it all kicked off is deeply regretted all round now.

zzzzzzziiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip

Saturn74 · 28/09/2007 18:57

Didn't know anything about this.
Gess is one of the few posters who I really respect.
She is witty, intelligent, informed and fair.

I hope she comes back.

Can we swap her with one of the ones who attacked her?

Blandmum · 28/09/2007 18:59

martian bishop come up with Sharia Bop Mint,
Manias Birth Op,
Pastrami Bin Oh

Blandmum · 28/09/2007 19:00

Oh dear god, I've cracked up and posted on the wrong thread

Sorry, sorry, sorry

VeniVidiVickiQV · 28/09/2007 19:00

Oh I dunno Shiny.....

I really do so hate threads that allude to things long since deleted that cant be re-hashed. They are very annoying.

That said, I really hope that Gess hasnt gone. She's been really helpful to me on my thread re DS.

It really fucks me off that gess and others like get chased off the board.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 28/09/2007 19:01

Good idea HC

at MB...

Bink · 28/09/2007 19:18

Tell me off if I'm unnecessarily hashing-over - but my real problem is, actually, with that apology - or the kind of act of apology ("sorry about all that I just had a bad day" or the like) that somehow means everyone has to instantly forget & forgive & it becomes Their Problem if they can't. Which is bitterly unfair - don't you agree?

As I say to ds, there's a difference between saying sorry and being (or doing, which I use to be more literal, for him) sorry.

I think there should be something in the MN set-up that means if you've put someone through the mill, & then claimed you've just had a bad day & "let's all move on" - you have to contribute to a charity. Or Do Something, know what I mean? To show you mean it.

Mercy · 28/09/2007 19:29

Lulu has already said what I was going to say.

Gess also has a brain the size of a planet. Come back!

TnOgu · 28/09/2007 19:32

Agree with Bink.

Gess come back.

Tamum · 28/09/2007 19:34

Oh Bink, I couldn't agree more. I always hate it when people say that we should all stop discussing things, so I am being a mega-hypocrite I know. I really don't think it should be a case of apologising and all being forgotten when it wasn't just a few words in the heat of the moment, it was starting a thread. Sigh.

2shoes · 28/09/2007 19:48

funny I often have this with ds(15) he will do something or say something bad.......then say sorry and expect it to be over. I will say sorry doesn't work. harm is done.

edam · 28/09/2007 20:22

I'm shocked, I really am. How someone could be so spineless and downright nasty as to start a thread attacking Gess, of all people... it's just despicable.

magsi · 28/09/2007 21:00

Gess......

You can quite clearly see you are the very backbone of Mn and such a valuable contributor. Ignore the playground bullies and GET YOUR ARSE BACK HERE WHERE IT BELONGS!!!............STUFF EM!!!

Pixel · 28/09/2007 21:11

I missed all this yesterday. I hope you come back Gess. There are lots of lovely people on the SN board but it won't be the same without you.
