I've just spotted this:

There She Goes
BBC4 10pm - 10.30pm
First of a 5-part series, starting today - 16.10.18.
1/5 - One Day in the Life of Rosie Yates: It's a typical Saturday for 9-year old Rosie, who has a severe learning disability.

I'll be watching - if possible! Anyone joining me?

And finally, the dryer has finished. Ds2 won't let me run it.

Partridgeamongstthepigeons · 15/11/2018 23:50

Yes pickachew my DH too. He was in tears after 'The Wrong Grandad' and we had a big chat about our different experiences of the early years with DS (he was working flat out and I did the appointments, education stuff, grieving...)

Partridgeamongstthepigeons · 15/11/2018 23:51

We have a crisp cupboard tooGrin

EggysMom · 19/11/2018 21:25

Catching up again, I never manage to watch anything at the time of broadcast! It's nice to see the point at which the Dad realised he has to shape up and do his part back at home.

Apart from pinning Rose in a corner, was anybody else amazed that they managed to have wine & beer glasses on the restaurant table without mishap? Smile But pretty much, that's why we don't go out for meals. Because that's our son, not sitting still, shouting, and having to be man-handled.

Just caught up with last episode. Gandalf is just like my FiL - he has no idea at all how to interact with DS. Sadly DS doesnt even try anymore and just hides from him which is sad as he is a kind man just doesn't know what to do.

Hi everyone,
Despite the emotional ups and downs of watching, I'm feeling a little bit deflated because we haven't got TSG to look forward to tonight. Anybody else?

OP posts:
livpotter · 20/11/2018 18:11

Yes me too!

WonderBoy · 20/11/2018 18:29

Tuesdays won't be the same again!

(But there's still Wine)

hazeyjane · 20/11/2018 19:24

Oh god me too.
It, and catching up on this thread, had become a bit of a highlight!
Could do with the wine tonight...ds got the day for an endoscopy through, he has a minor infection on his scar (from a burn on his leg) and his TA is leaving (possibly....no one has told me!)
Chin chin everyone!

WonderBoy · 20/11/2018 20:21

I've been wondering about asking MNHQ to move the thread for us, so that it doesn't disappear. Then, any of us who would like to continue can, and any others who go on to watch and identify with TSG can join in later too. It seems a shame to lose the shared experience on the thread. It might help parents nearer the start of this journey too. Any thoughts, anyone?

Thinking of you and HB, hazey. Chin chin.

I need more naked head stand & trampolining stories to keep me going Wink

hazeyjane · 20/11/2018 20:54

I think that would be a lovely idea Wonder.

AamdC · 21/11/2018 09:24

LittleSwede · 21/11/2018 14:31

Yes please Wonderboy, do ask to get the thread moved. I'm yet to watch episodes 4 and 5!

AamdC · 21/11/2018 15:14

Hello Wonderboy everything is ok (ish) here have the dreaded EHCP review before xmas just had some. Window locks fitted ro stop my little Houdini from escaping!

livpotter · 28/11/2018 11:20

Everything is good here apart from ds going through a not being able to get to sleep phase.

I have discovered a new skill, I have the ability to fit a lock on a door in under 6mins. We now have locks everywhere.

Hope everyone else is good!

hazeyjane · 28/11/2018 15:13

Sat in the waiting room for the dietician....fingers crossed d's has grown!!

Otherwise not too bad although have had a morning of frustrating phone calls to various services (bloody Virgincare!!)

How did you get on with moving the thread?

We could just start a new one 8n sn children?

AamdC · 28/11/2018 15:19

We have a growth isdie too Hazey and he struggles to put on weight , not helped by his restricted diet of course good luck with his growth!

hazeyjane · 28/11/2018 16:45

Ds has a delayed bone age, but they don't know whether his restricted growth is just down to that, or whether there is a growth hormone difficulty or if it is part of his syndrome....or just poor nutrition from his restricted diet....Throw in his horrendous refluxsensory stuff and digestive issues and it is all a bit complicated!

Anyway the appointment took an age in a room hotter than hell, with a dietician who I thought was just particularly smiley that day, until someone on the hospital canteen just told me that my top is inside out....I guess at least I remembered to put one on!

Ds hasn't grown......advised to put cream in everything (but he hates cream.....) and we are going to try some erythromycin for gut motility if his paediatrician approves (and if I can get him to take it)

AamdC · 28/11/2018 18:23

Yes we had that advice , cream and butter , i think hos paditrician was think more or ensure type drinks, milk shakes but the dietician doesnt think hia height and growth is too concerning just yet hes all in proportion just very small for his age .
