Dd3's stress levels are going through the roof and I know why but cant do anything to help Sad

We cut our holiday short this week because she was going downhill fast and didnt want to stay. I had planned to be away until Friday so she was occupied and not thinking about it.

She has melted down this morning over not being able to have a coloured door key, apparently our lock is too old Hmm And over not wanting me to have a cushion on the sofa!!

We need to make a new visual timetable for the mornings but not sure its a good idea, what do you all think?

I have to admit that having been on this roller coaster with Dd3 for 7 years [since she started school] I am ready to get off now and let someone else ride it with her!!

Great news polter

I am slightly concerned by what Dd3 has just told me. In english they are reading 1984!! Is it me or is this going to be waaaay over her head and possibly upsetting/freaky for her!!

Disclaimer is that I havent read it because I hated Animal farm and Lord of the flies, which gave me nightmares!!

She has only just outgrown "The worst witch" and "Clarice Bean"!!!

I am going to have to say something arent I Hmm

You see Roald Dahl would not have worried me but I am bothered about 1984!! I think I will see if she reacts to it, she has only just started it. She says it wierd and freaky and she is so not going to get it!!

I will wait a few days and see! All the millions of authors out there and they choose flippin George Orwell!!

So, after a more stressful week and a difficult meeting with the senco on Wednesday, Dd3 is going to be issued with a lunch pass, allowing her to leave her lesson 5 minutes before the lunch bell so that she can avoid the queues. She has wanted to try hot dinners but hasnt been able to face the noisy dinner hall and the queues.

She is also going to be put into a social communication group.

A positive end to the week Smile

Survived another week! Having watched the pathetic pastoral support on Educating The East End last night I think everyone has been exceedingly fortunate in their schools. Just goes to show how important it is to suss out the SENCO when choosing a secondary school for a child with an ASD.

Oh great news about the club polter Smile The timings are quite tricky my older girls struggled with that too, Dd2 used to eat her lunch at breaktime if she had a club!

Dd3's keyworker helped her with it on the second week when she wanted to go to band so she is doing ok with that at the moment but not with the hot meals. Never mind, early days Smile

What channel is the Educating the East End thing on? Dp is obsessed with Sherlock reruns at the moment!! And I am meant to be the "quirky" one Hmm so I dont get a look in with the TV!! Mind you I am normally on here or the FB group that I go on so it doesnt normally matter Smile

Yes one how are they doing??

OP posts:
OneInEight · 04/10/2014 10:31

They are doing OK.

ds2 is still having good and bad days but we are assured there is more good than bad. He seems to have accepted the taxi now which is a relief. We had his annual review and they are going to get OT etc to have a surreptitious look at him to see if there are any physical issues for a reluctance to write and perhaps let him do stuff on the computer instead as he seems more willing to do so. Suspect it maybe more psychological and yet another of his controlling behaviours.

ds1 is doing well according to school but is finding the journey very exhausting but not a lot we can do about that. He had a very ranty night on Tuesday because of it but as that is the day he stays late to do a trombone lesson and has been full of cold we are hoping it was mainly through tiredness.
