Quite a long one- gives his targets and achievements. Some funny bits like "this inquisitive side to his nature certainly keeps Mrs LSA on her toes" and his next target in this area is apparently "to understand the school environment and where he can and can't go".

The Head's comments are " Well done A - a lovely first report! A has made some very positive steps in settling into school. He is a delightful, valued member of our school family".

At which stage I had to stop mysefl blubbing.

Who would have thought it? I was convinced school would be a disaster. It's been a really pleasant surprise.

That's fabulous Jimjams. Congratulations ds1, and well done to you too for fighting to make sure the things were in place that he needed at school.

Aw, jimjams, how lovely! What a team!

Delightful is such a heartwarming word when applied to one's children! (Did you actually manage to stop yourself blubbing btw?)

lou33 · 19/03/2004 22:12

That is so lovely Jimjams, really really wonderful .

coppertop · 19/03/2004 22:27

"Valued member of our school family" Oh I would have been a blubbing heap in the corner over that bit. Well done to the little man. He's done so well.

Jimjams · 19/03/2004 22:35

I dunno Janh I've always said that when you find your child described as "delightful" you know you have problems All his assessments describe him as delightful, even when he was a total nightmare. My friends with nightmare children found the same - we decided it must be code for run away run away.

In this case for the first time ever I think the Head means it though. She seems to quite like him eben though he keeps going into her office and turning the lights out.

I didn't blub ds1 started shouting his head off as I'd started the car but hadn't moved (that's not allowed) so had to drive.

emsiewill · 20/03/2004 21:29

jimjams, I read your posts often, but never feel I can say anything useful. But I think your son's report is wonderful. And what a lovely head teacher - even to talk about a "school family" shows what a great school you chose.

You should be proud of him and yourself.

sykes · 20/03/2004 21:51

So glad Jimjams - that's lovely.
