FFS. MN HQ has banned me again!

It appears there is one rule for everyone else on MN and one rule for me.

Apparently you're allowed to discuss everything on MN - except how to cure dyslexia. :( (Because apparently that subject is distressing to parents of dyslexic children)

So, I lose the support I need.

And MNers lose information about treatments that work for dyslexia.

I've made some good friends on here and provided and received lots of support and information and advice.

But this time I'm really going. MN HQ are a law unto themselves and they can't be reasoned with.

If you post nasty replies to this thread, please be aware that of course I will be reading them, and of course they'll hurt.

Did she? I honestly have no idea!

coff33andmintspies · 20/12/2012 22:00

Responding to criticism that her use of her qualifications in Linguistics and Language and International Relations, subjects entirely unrelated to diet and nutrition, are misleading to the public she said she was challenging orthodox medical opinions. She denied that using the title to promote her theories on nutrition was unethical

She like Robin Pauc used "titles" to promote and be heard you mean?

Still doesnt make either of them a danger to public. And yes she did get great results and awards for it.

saintlyjimjams · 20/12/2012 22:15

A PhD in linguistics is a 'proper' doctor though isn't it, as in she has a doctorate. Unlike most GP's.

I can't see the problem with that providing she didn't say she had a medical degree. I use my doctorate as a title (I earned the bloody thing) but never pretend to be a medical doctor.

Please note I've never read a word of Gillian McKeith but I would get start if told I wasn't allowed to call myself doctor when I wanted to.

Would get *arsey - not start

Oh right, that seems a slightly bizarre thing to do.

Is Robin Pauc American? They call everyone and their dog doctors and professors there don't they :o

I will admit, I have never read your TH threads mainly because I know what you believe, and I know what me, my mum and brother have experienced as people with dyslexia.
Mine isn't as easy to spot, because I found ways to cope, and have a love of literature which helps me find words to replace the ones I can't spell.
My mum taught herself to read in her 30s, and my brother had all sorts of help at school and is now a manager but struggles daily.

Each things works differently for each one, very much like autism, which ones for one of my girls, might not work with the other. Both have autism.

I think the problem people have is your words of curing. Yes you have improved things, yes you have found something that works for your child, is doesn't mean it will cure every child with the same dx.

I'm sorry your banned but you were warned, and MN can't be seen to be backing one doctors/quacks/posters opinion especially if money is involved.

See, I find this whole "public discussion" about it all just wrong. If Indigo has a problem with MNHQ banning or restricting her posting for some reason, she should be dealing directly with MNHQ. It should never have been posted as an indignant thread here in SNs. It only creates ill feeling and argument, and the last thing we need on this board is to polarise the members.

If people have specific concerns about TH, then make a thread about it, and people can calmly debate about pros and cons for the programme and its developer.

But I think this constant rehashing of prior incidents and such serves no purpose whatsoever, other than to upset people and encourage people to "choose sides." I have no desire to do so, nor do I want to suck up to MNHQ (or irritate them either lol) or stroke anyone's ego begging them to stay.

If Indigo has a problem with MNHQ and her status on the board, then she should be privately dealing with MNHQ. NOT dragging the entire board into it.

Sorry, but IMO this whole thing seems to be taking on a life of its own. Hmm

Fwiw, mnhq have been in touch and clarified that my posting was suspended as I'd broken their rules and I could post again if I agreed not to again. I have a choice, like Indigo, and as it upset people, I will choose to agree not to do it again. We all have choices; it only becomes a problem when we deliberately choose to keep upsetting people.

I think this has all died down now, tbh, which is good. I was just updating on my previous whinge :).

Happy Christmas, everyone. There is more that unites us than divides us and I'm sure we'll need each other again next year!
