absolutely brilliant news IMO of course. other people will have their own stance but as a Mum of Ds1 with Aspergers... :-)

I think this is great news. In my book, it's not about trying to excuse behaviour because of Asperger's but about a fair trial and fair sentencing and treatment. I think the fact he has Asperger's is relevant to all those issues.

As someone who has been involved in extradition cases, I can say that the extradition law with the UK is profoundly one-sided and disproportionate and that has a lot to do with the unfairness of this case.

As a mum of a son with AS, I think 'thank God'...

It is fab news and tbh he's done USA a massive favour in pointing out major flaws in their system. Albeit causing them embarassment in the process - which is most likely what they are pissed off about the most!!! He was looking for UFOs fgs not looking to bomb them. So happy sense has been seen.

About his mum, I told DS this morning about it as he heard the word Asperger's on the radio.

I said 'who do you think has been fighting for years for him' and he said 'that would have to be his mum'
