TGI Friday, anyone?

Hello all, can't miss another Friday thread.

I'm back from Cornwall where I failed to see coff33pot but did buy some sweeties from her DH. Boys have gone to their dad's new detached house, not bitter, me for the weekend, so I'm at a loose end, trying to ignore all the housework I could be doing.

How are you all?

Gritting my teeth and counting down the days until term starts

silverfrog · 17/08/2012 18:35

knackered.

ds has turned into the incredible non-sleeping (at night) baby - sleeps well in the day though - shame I can't since the girls are Not Keen on naps Grin

we are all climbing the walls a bit, as I can't get out with everyone - can't drive due to c section, and can't walk anywhere due to severe anaemia...

dd1 is counting down the days until school starts Grin and making me promise I'll be ok to drive by then!

StarlightMcKenzie · 17/08/2012 18:35

Having a fab time! I'm sorry as I know holidays are pants for most but my family just descend in to disarray and I'm calmer for it!

creatovator · 17/08/2012 18:38

Really tired tonight, but have made it through the hols Grin Grin. They went back to school on Wednesday!

The hols were tough work as we didn't have a proper one. Went to a festival at St Andrew's in a muddy field then both dh and I had the following week off when we did days out and days buying school uniform. Also the weather really didn't help and ds was spaced out and unsettled for some of the time.

Bit disappointed with it all really but dcs had a good time.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 17/08/2012 18:39

I must admit, now that I don't feel the need to have the house looking as if I've been doing some work, I'm quite enjoying duvet days and getting dressed at midday, and so are the boys. This has been a good holiday, so far. Smile (Except for the week the boys were in Turkey with dick and his OW)

oh, don't apologise! we are off on hols end ofnext week, and looking forward to it.

it's the cabin fever that is getting to us... if I could just get my iron count back up, it would all be a lot better, but it is refusing to budge

StarlightMcKenzie · 17/08/2012 18:40

Although Dh takes his holiday in blocks of 2-3 days attached to a weekend over the summer so we get lots of little camping holidays where the kids RUN and then importantly sleep! Dh and I just drink- lol!

PurplePidjin · 17/08/2012 18:44

Relieved to have passed the 24 week mark and glad I'm not any pregnanter iyswim!

creatovator · 17/08/2012 18:45

PurplePidjin · 17/08/2012 18:50

Sorry to hear that Imogen. Our hols were at least successful in terms of DCs enjoying themselves... just very, very hard work for me and dh when he wasn't at work. Actually he works from home and found it quite hard as we couldn't get out much and the noise level was high. DCs were generally quite well behaved to be fair, but when ds wasn't behaving well, it was lots worse than usual. Taking them out was hard work too. DS seemed to regress a bit, particularly towards the end Sad.

Purple Choc Brownie Muffins, not head of them before.... definitely think I need to try one Grin.

creatovator · 17/08/2012 19:08

I love my DCs and accept them as they are, but sometimes I wish we were a normal family iyswim.

signandsmile · 17/08/2012 19:09

hi all! (special hi to purple pidge! been wondering how you were doing Grin)

week here been good, we have just booked a few days away last week of hols, so off to the sea! hurrah...

we have been doing play dates as and when ds can cope with them, and he has done really well,

planning a quieter week this week... Grin sending good thoughts to those who have had 'trying' weeks

creatovator · 17/08/2012 19:12

Hi Sign. Glad you're having a good time. Thanks for the thoughts...

signandsmile · 17/08/2012 19:24

No probs, Grin, (as it's you, it's actually prayers i am sending, Wink) i am waiting for my signing team to arrive to practice for sunday...

SauvignonBlanche · 17/08/2012 19:28

I'm delighted it's Friday as I'm now off work for a week. Grin

signandsmile · 17/08/2012 19:32

Yay! do you have nice plans?

SauvignonBlanche · 17/08/2012 19:40

Just a few day staycation DS is awful in airports.

alison222 · 17/08/2012 19:43

We have just driven back from the lake district today. We have had a fantastic time with the children's stamina surprising me and getting them hill walking and doing 6 mile or so walks. We enjoyed a day at a climbing centre using their indoor climbing walls and DS surprised me with his enthusiasm and strength. All that shoulder physio drama to get it done was clearly well worth it.
Itg is much hotter here at home. We have unpacked and the washing machine is on its second go and there is a half bottle of wine somewhere around once the children can be persuaded to go to bed. Will pass it round later.
Imogen I forgot that the school holidays are now over for some people. I do hope that things will start to calm down now for you all.
Ellen enjoy the quiet. You will be longing for it once the children are back.
silverfrog I hope you get some rest this weekend.

Happy weekend to all

creatovator · 17/08/2012 19:44

Understood Sign. Hope the practise goes well.

creatovator · 17/08/2012 19:46

x posted. Alison Envy. That's what I wanted to do. DCs not into walking very far yet.

WetAugust · 17/08/2012 19:47

Strange day. ExH got married - again. DS went to the Reception but couldn't handle the boisterousness so came hom in a strop asking me 'Why did they do this' and 'Why did they do that...' ad nauseum.

Twunt Boss getting on my nerves but only 11 weeks more and I'm free!

Just booked next year's holiday.

Badvoc · 17/08/2012 19:53

Ugh.
Having a really shitty day tbh.
Am on a diet which makes me...erm...cranky.
Have done 2 baskets of ironing and got another 2 loads of washing to do.
Sorted loads of clothes out, put stuff in loft, sorted out bathroom window that hasn't shut since we moved in (7 months ago!) bit of oil works wonders!!
Made 2 Ppi claims from years ago (not desperate for money, oh no)
Canceled my ou course for oct :( just can't take on any more debt ATM. Feel very sad about it.
Had an awful morning with ds1 doing his work with him...I hate it so much. I hate it. I just want to be his mum...not his therapist/ot/tutor :(
Anyway.
Am going to feck off now as I am bringing the thread down!....
