The rate you are going I will be in Residential Care gone totally gaga.

StarlightMaJesty · 12/06/2012 13:43

You'd better not silverfrog!!

StarlightMaJesty · 12/06/2012 13:45

Fine sparkle, just bored. It's not like going out is much fun either. It's a bit of an effort even if it wasn't wet Sad.

Still dd an I had bananas, ice cream, sugar and double cream for lunch Grin

Putting off phoning the midwife..... Suppose I should get on with tat really!

StarlightMaJesty · 12/06/2012 14:12

Okay, fairly uneventful phonecall with mw except for 'oh, has your baby not come yet' which is a stupid question really but probably a fairly normal thing to say.

Maybe he's waiting so he can be the eldest next academic year!?

coff33pot · 12/06/2012 14:54

I am actually feeling the vibes and getting fed up for you!

Chocolate time :)

StarlightMaJesty · 12/06/2012 15:47

Oooh, just booked a posh restaurant for Fathers day, so probably give birth then.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 12/06/2012 15:52

Hi Star, just checking in. Good idea booking the posh restaurant. If it has a steep cancellation fee, all the better. Grin

StarlightMaJesty · 12/06/2012 16:06

Midwife called me back! Sad wants to book me a sweep.

I politely declined. She asked for my objections so I told her i'd rather I had no-one touching me down there before or during labour (tbh, if things go wierd I would allow it).

She asked me if I'd refuse other interventions if I go over 41 weeks (why 41 weeks? Hmm) I said I would.

She wants me to take my birth plan so she can make the rest of the team aware of it and make sure her superior knows it.

So, a good thing?

I'm choosing to see it as such for now. The difficult customers get the more experienced, trained and confident staff on the day right?

But why 41 weeks?

It doesn't help either that her 41 weeks and mine are out by 5 days though.

StarlightMaJesty · 12/06/2012 16:32

Lol, they'll never be able to FIND me let alone catch me. In the unlikely event I'm actually IN my house they'll not know which box or pile of stuff to look behind.

Lol!!! I've had 5 babies&know exactly what your about Star...I didnt make birth plans,if i had it would have just said "Leave me alone !" Lucky for me i had a fantastic midwife whilst pregnant, total rebel who warned me not to come to the labour ward under any circumstances!!!

Had my last 2in a birth centre, water births etc, next time it will def be at home-dont care what Dp says!

Take care&dont let them catch u....

StarlightMaJesty · 12/06/2012 16:55

I don't understand the 41 week thing though. Why are we even discussing it before 42 weeks?

Never been in this position before and it feels a bit odd tbh. I don't think Puting me in fight mode is gonna help matters.

SparkleRainbow · 12/06/2012 16:56

They do have a 41 or 42 week hang up.....they were getting frisky at interfering with dd2 when they said she was 41 weeks, she was still only 40 weeks by my dates, she was just a big baby!

Shelly - next time?

With you and zzzzz I feel like a proper lightweight!

Gonna have the placenta battle now, just when I thought we could wait until after the actual birth for it.

Perhaps I could put in the birth plan i show the mw 'to be continued.......'

zen1 · 12/06/2012 19:13

They can't make you do anything you don't want to do. I don't know why they get so jittery after 41 weeks. I feel that in an uncomplicated pregnancy babies come when they are ready, whether that be 37 weeks or 43 weeks. If you look at the statistics, alot of what is said seems to be scaremongering.
