Never in my life have I become involved in trying to raise awareness about special needs. 2 days ago I posted a thread asking my lovely Mums to sign a petition calling for educators to be given special needs training. That was all I wasn't calling for them to sacked or anything just a little bit if training.
Sadly my post was reported not sure why I was not notified I message HQ asking why and was told someone reported it as spam???? But I could post again without the link to the petition. This has made me feel a bit sad about this site.

I thought context was always looked at before the deletion button is hit?

surely it doesn't matter whether the word 'petition' is in the title - a thread, in the SN section, started by a regular SN poster, asking for support on SN issues - it's a no-brainer, surely?

I can see why MNHQ might get more reports if the word petition is in the title (from people who just hit report without looking at the thread/context/issue in hand) but if MNHQ do, as they say they do, read the thread and the context before deleting then surely it becomes obvious if the thread is petition spamming or not?

agree with Silver. I would rather click on a petition thread knowing it's a petition thread. Please could you reconsider being more lenient on this section, as you can see many of the regulars on here are more than happy to see SN-related petitions from regulars.

Can you link me to yours again sallybear so I can sign it :)

I agree with Hazey, CatherineMN. As I don't have a child with hearing impairments I don't read threads about it generally just like I don't read about girl's clothes being a mother of a boy. However I want to support any petition that I deem relevant. I won't find out about them from other sources.

Maybe we can have one thread on SN where all petitions can go. Maybe some one has already mentioned that upthread?

TheLightPassenger · 03/06/2012 21:59

my post of 13.40 today, suggested that, in fact, Ben10 Grin

Thanks light passenger. One good thing to come out of this I suppose it will definitely make me personally want to support the petitions that mean a lot to the other Mums on the site as I now realise just how hard and a bit soul destroying it can be to get others to sign up or to even give a monkeys!

Got a petition? Where do I sign? Grin
