Back to school on Monday. DS4 starts his new Special School then. It will mean that I am driving all over town doing 3 school drop offs, but we are really looking forward to a new approach. Grin
We had a mixed week, bought a trampoline which DH is putting up over the weekend. Managed to be successful in the Wimbledon Ballot so I have Court No 1 tickets. Very excited. Not quite so exciting was my trip to A&E last night after DD broke her nose. She has a craniofacial syndrome, so we are off to see her Maxillofacial surgeon next week for his professional opinion on whether it will need resetting!

Well mine don't go back till Tuesday and to be honest I can't wait!! Blush
The girls have been a real handful and today is no better.
We met with another family with two Asd girls to go swimming. We thought we could catch the last 30 mins of the fun session and finish with normal quiet swim. But nope, they said if we went in for fun swim we would have to come out at the end! Or we could wait 30 mins for session to end and go normal session!! No where in their stuff does it say you have to come out of pool at end of sessions that cross over. We explained we had four girls with autism with us that this was going to cause major problems for. He didn't care, so my girls kicked off but went in after 30 mins but other girls kicked off and refused to go in Sad ruined my whole afternoon, I hate swimming alone.
Can't wait for girls to go to bed now

Ben10NeverAgain · 13/04/2012 17:45

Oh dear to the broken nose sally but the rest of it sounds fun. I used to work for a private member's sports club in London so we used to get free tickets every year and they used to use our grass courts to practice on. The Williams sisters got kicked off as they wouldn't adhere to the whites dress code - it was when they wore bright pink etc. The Hurlingham Club would never allow that, no matter who you were!

Told DS about his DX today. He got bored half way through All Cats but he's been told Grin. He says that his AS is Adamantium Symbiote (something from Marvel Comics) :)

I'm in recovery mode again as got an infection from my op 2 weeks ago so on super duper ABs and my stomach feels wrecked!

Have applied for Access to Work to help me with travel to work when I return as my condition is counted as a disability. Looks a great scheme. Hope it works out as it might help me to get back - been long enough!

Ben10NeverAgain · 13/04/2012 17:47

That sounds really hard Lisa. You should complain as they should be more disability aware.

DS has been ill for 2 days but now has been full of vigour Hmm and I really don't have the energy.

SallyBear · 13/04/2012 17:53

Poor you Ben10. Infections are miserable, but the post op ones seem the worst. I know that you want to get on, but take time to heal yourself first. No point in rushing until you are 100% better infection post op wise. Smile

Lisa. That is dreadful. I agree with Ben. Make a serious complaint. They're not disability aware.
I hope that you have a better weekend. Smile

Hello. Quiet weekend for me as the boys are with the dick. Got my decree nisi on Tuesday, anyone know if that means anything in itself, or just a couple of months to go?

Anyway. Had a good week, managed to take all 3 swimming to meet up with some old friends at a much more reasonable pool than yours, lisad. (No problem staying in after family fun session finished, except DS2 had had enough by then, "Let's go home!)

Went to Wookey Hole with Tesco vouchers, a bit of a trek but the vouchers needed using up. Cheddar Gorge was as amazing as usual.

Glad you've had a good week Sally Hope Temple Grandin film was good. So sorry about your DD's nose, though, ouch.

Hope the antibiotics kick in soon, Ben10. You could do with some nice things to start happening.

moosemama · 13/04/2012 18:08

Oo Adamantium, isn't that something from the X Men? I'm pretty sure that's what Wolverine's talons were made of.

Sally, sorry to hear about dd's nose. Hope it doesn't have to be reset.

Lisa, sorry for the messed up afternoon. Its horrible when you've been looking forward to something and then its ruined by some jobsworth.

Ben, sounds good that ds is associating his AS with something positive and powerful. Sorry to hear about the infection though.

I have been trapped in the house since the Thursday before Easter, because ds2 has been quite poorly. Took him back to the GP on Tuesday and this time they managed to hear the infection in his lungs. They think they caught it before he ended up with pneumonia and he's had a few days of anti-b's now, but is still a decidedly odd colour. GP says he'd be surprised if he's made a full recovery before his birthday next Wednesday and that we need to keep a close eye on him, as things have suddenly taken a turn for the worse in the past.

... and ... this afternoon dd suddenly spiked a temp of 39.2. She's sneezed a couple of times over the past 24 hours, but other than that had absolutely no symptoms. She's now complaining of a mid-forehead headache, but at least her temp has come down to 38 an hour after calpol. She's usually quite resilient, so am hoping it will just be a quick 24/48 hour thing.

Ds1 was 10! TEN YEARS OLD! Shock on Tuesday. How did my pfb get to be ten years old Grin He had his best friend round for the afternoon and dh took them to the park, where they had ice-cream. Nothing flash this year, because we're doing a trip to the new Legoland hotel for both boys' birthdays instead.

Actually, had to call Legoland about ds1's dietary requirements this week and was very impressed with their customer service. They gave me the direct number for the hotel restaurant, where the lovely lady I spoke to couldn't have been more helpful. She made a note, not only of him being gf, but also that he's vegetarian and the foods he won't eat. She booked us a table there and then and took his name so he can have personalised service! Grin Apparently they cater for coeliacs as a matter of course, so there's always at least one coeliac friendly meal on the menu and they always have gf bread available. Problem is that often the coeliac friendly meal is meat based and/or potato loaded, neither of which ds1 will touch.

For myself, well I am walking around like a little old lady thanks to re-starting the 30 Day Shred in the hope of meeting my overall weightloss target by our 20th anniversary in July. I had forgotten just how much your muscles object for the first few days - OW!

Also had a bit of an odd episode yesterday with pretty extreme tremors, including a rather fetching chicken-dance impression from my legs. Blush It lasted for about an hour, but has left me with tremor in both hands, which is a bit of a pita. Have had the hand tremors before, intermittently, but the whole body tremors and wonky legs thing was a tad scary.

moosemama · 13/04/2012 18:11

Ellen, I really want to take my three to Cheddar Gorge, but we never seem to get there. I remember being really impressed by it as a child.

Not sure what decree nisi means, sorry, but congratulations on being one step closer to freedom.

DameHermione · 13/04/2012 18:11

Evening all.

back to school on monday - in theory..... if DD2 decides to go.

She had a very successful haircut yesterday which was bloody amazing. On the down side she wants to go and see Titanic in 3d tomorrow which is difficult, but she really really wants to so we might. -and i don't want to go and see sodding bloody titanic and might have a meltdown of my own--

I have a day off tomorrow and a bottle of red with my name on it Wine

Here's to a restful and happy weekend!

Ben10NeverAgain · 13/04/2012 18:12

I love that boys are with the dick - he doesn't even get called dickhead anymore Grin

My friend is going through divorce I think it was Jan that he got his DN and then he is soon to get the final thing - fini??

Your trips sound great. I can't wait till I'm able to go on trips again. It's been far too long.

I'm not rushing to get back to work. I'm still on restrictions from the gynae op until beginning of May but then I'll have to start my physio for my main condition again to build up my strength. At least this way I'll just have to focus on the work. The problem is that Dave has changed the ESA so mine runs out on 31st May. That will be almost £400 pm down and parents are already subbing us so much. They will cover it but I feel bad. If I can work, I want to work

insanityscratching · 13/04/2012 18:13

Hello all, just back from holiday which has been an all round success. Ds has been Mr Chilled, he went in Tesco Shock and has eaten loads which has got rid of the gaunt look he's had. Dd has talked and talked and talked. Glad they are back at school Monday though.
Came home to a clean house which was great seeing as I'd left older three and assorted friends, girlfriends, boyfriends here whilst we were away. My friend will tell me if there was a party no doubt.

Ben10NeverAgain · 13/04/2012 18:14

Wow that sounds a very successful trip Insanity :) Esp the clean house bit!

Ben10NeverAgain · 13/04/2012 18:17

Oh and it's my 10th wedding anniversary today. I'm expecting DH to come home with something extravagant that we can't afford. He is coming home to sausage and mash Grin

SallyBear · 13/04/2012 18:21

Moose. Oh what week you've had! The tremors sound very scary. Date I ask do you know what they are, or are you going to the GP next week?
With regards to DS2's chest, if you can feel it rattle inside when you put your hand on his ribs, you should do percussive tapping on him with a cupped hand, followed by firm shaking as he exhales. That will hopefully loosen up stuff and get him to cough it up.
DD's temp - poor thing. Sad
Happy birthday to your big 10 yr old!

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 13/04/2012 18:21

Ben10, yes, Dickhead involves too much typing, he's not worth the bother! Grin

Decree absolute comes next, my comprehensive didn't do Latin.

Blimey, you've had a rough year. (Well, me too, TBH! Grin) You just have to keep on keeping on.

Moose, the best thing is Cheddar Gorge is free! DS2 wouldn't get out of the car, but the others loved it. I hope your DS2 gets to have a nice birthday. Hopefully, for him, still just too poorly for school, but otherwise completely better. Smile

DameHermione, I'm only just keeping up with the name changes! I hope DD2 gets to school on Monday.

SallyBear · 13/04/2012 18:25

I think it's decree absolute! divorce

OP posts:
EllenJaneisnotmyname · 13/04/2012 18:25

Insanity, have you calmed down from the AIBU thread? Grin I quite enjoy them when they get shouted down so comprehensively. I bet there was a party, do you remember the Yellow Pages ad?

Happy Anniversary, Ben10! Sausage and mash, onion gravy, I hope? mmmm

moosemama · 13/04/2012 18:26

Congratulations on your 10th anniversary Ben. Smile

Insanity, sounds like you had a lovely time and great to hear how well ds did. Lovely to come back to a clean house as well. I hate it if we are disorganised and don't get to do a run-through clean and tidy before we go on holiday. Of course ime, a clean/tidy house is a huge indicator for a party having taken place. Wink

We have another week before the boys are back at school and they are already winding each other up. Ds2 has had more than enough of ds1 being constantly on at him and that on top of him being poorly means we are getting lots and lots of tears, which isn't like him at all. Sad

DameHermione · 13/04/2012 18:27

I have to keep changing as the bloody DDs keep stealing my laptop and stalking me to see what i've written about them.

Bloody Bloody DD2 has actually registered with MN with her own name (which I found out when she left her emails open)

she's never actually posted yet though.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 13/04/2012 18:27

Thanks SallyBear. I only ever had an EastEnders knowledge of divorce before this. Smile

Ben10NeverAgain · 13/04/2012 18:27

Moose

You could try this as well to get stuff off his chest. It seems standard lung physio so you might already know.

That Legoland hotel sounds fantastic. I did look at it for DS's birthday but I just can't justify it as they were quoting me £200 for 1 night.

The tremors sound very scarey.

DameHermione · 13/04/2012 18:28

Insaity - that souds like a lovely holiday. well done!

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 13/04/2012 18:29

Dame, if I say, you have a mostly joyful job, would I be on the right lines?

Ben10NeverAgain · 13/04/2012 18:29

I might have to make onion gravy.........

Damehermione I have to say that I do find it quite clever that they are stalking you - yet very annoying I'm sure! Hope she gets to school.

moose Another week Shock - not 3 weeks Easter holidays - I'm not sure I could cope!

SallyBear · 13/04/2012 18:31

Ben we do huffing twice a day here, plus the percussive Physio. The joys of a DD with 1.5 working lungs. Sad

OP posts:
DameHermione · 13/04/2012 18:31

oh yes.

there must be an easier way of identifying myself to people i don't mind woking out who i am.

I also know (via my sister who also hangs out here sometimes) my bloody mother lurks too!
