Just had a call this morning.
As its our first request they have granted the three things we asked for :)

Yay!

What did you ask for?

We're applying at the moment so I hope we have similar success!

lisad123 · 24/03/2012 18:43

We applied for iPad, tumble dryer and holiday. It was both girls and first application so she said that's why they agreed all three Grin

That's fab LisaD!

Leonie where are you off to on Holiday? I've been given holiday vouchers (woohoo) and can't concentrate long enough to try and narrow down the choices!

We do a cheap Haven holiday each year and my DS loves it :o) I know they're not everyone's cup of tea but it suits us. Even if it does rain I'm sure it will be nice for you all to get away. Smile

extremepie · 24/03/2012 21:24

I love Haven! We used to go there pretty much every year when I was little and I always enjoyed it :)

I'd love to take my boys on holiday but I'll have to wait till next year to apply for that one

lisad123 · 24/03/2012 21:27

I was very shocked too!!
I was told to put 3 things on my first application and that they always give more on first application. They did ring the autism advisory who support both girls, so not sure if they helped.

Nice one Lisa! Congratulations.

I got driving lessons with my first application as well, but they paid for the lessons and all the tests as well, the package was quite expensive and I will be forever greatful to them.

used2bthin · 25/03/2012 07:43

Thats great! I have just done my application for a raised fence and taller gate so DD can play in the garden-atm it is 3 feet high and overlooked by the street, DD can (and has) walked out easily. Had to wait for the quote so its taken longer to get finished than I hoped and now am hoping it gets accepted and that either way we know quickly since the weather is already so lovely it would be nice to be able to use the garden.

How long do they usually take to get back to people?

lisad123 · 25/03/2012 08:24

The site says first application is about 4 months but took about 2 for us.

Thanks Lisad123, oh dear I should have got it in sooner!

baboos · 25/03/2012 09:41

First application here too... we also asked for 3 things (hoping for 2) and were granted all 3 two weeks ago...very gratefull, only took 4 weeks here! Like Lisa, they contacted ds's ECAP specialist teacher.

used2bthin · 25/03/2012 09:49

4 weeks would be great! I am wondering whether to start again and apply for a holiday or/and garden equipment rather than the actual work as maybe the work is less likely to get granted anyway-although it is to give DD safe outdoor space. Would have to print off form again.

I've got our special ed inclusion teacher to be the contact person.

used2bthin · 25/03/2012 09:49

PS first application here too!

OctonautsOnRepeat · 28/03/2012 14:39

That's great news Lisa Grin

Really happy for you and the girls.

Gottalovecosta · 28/03/2012 15:25

We're just putting our application in for the first time - so, is it advised to ask for three things? I just assumed you could 'only' (Again, 'only' is said with deepest gratitude) apply for 1 item per year.

Ben10HasFinallyLeftTheBuilding · 28/03/2012 15:44

They say to ask for 3 on your first applicaiton yes as it is normally around £950 Grin the first year
