Lifts a Wine to toast you all.

Been here nearly a year. Has been a major turning point and without all your help an support I would never have got there.

Agreed you all ROCK! Xmas Grin

moondog · 22/12/2011 12:34

Yes, here's to us all.
A fantastic example of people talking control and helping themselves and each other.

Merry Christmas and may our aspirations for our children always be high. Smile

Happy Christmas to everyone and let's hope the new Year is a better one for us all xx And I agree thank you all so much for all your wise words and advice it has been a real lifeline for me and my family. Thanks

GloriaTheHighlyFlavouredLady · 22/12/2011 13:11

I honestly don't know what I would have done these past couple of years without you people in my computer. The more I learn about the 'system' the more hopeless I feel and then I see you lot and I have hope again through each and every one of your battles, successes and even learning opportunities.

I hope each and every one of you gets some peace at Christmas whether you celebrate it or not and new fighting energy for the new year and for all of us a better 2012 than 2011.

And a small message to whoever nominated Starlight for the MN Christmas appeal. Thank you so much. I don't know whether it was for thanks or for the horrendous year (much of which I have been unable to put on here) I have had but I have just picked up the most enormous box from the post office and if all that is inside it is foam it has still made my Christmas so thank you.

Happy Christmas one and all. Xmas Grin
I think this board is the very best part of Mumsnet, and atypical of the rest of the site. You are all wonderful, and the pooling of information and support is what keeps many of us going through the tricky bits.
May we all have an uneventful and shiny Christmas.

When are you off to the sun Gloria?
I thought you may be there already!

GloriaTheHighlyFlavouredLady · 22/12/2011 13:52

I'm back. Had a week in a cheap bungalow in the Canaries. Nothing much to do but watch the kids in the kids pool, playground and building sandcastles.

The resort works well for a break because all the other guests are from all over the world and so the language demands on ds are small as none of the children expect to communicate with each other and ds is simply the rude English boy rather than the autistic badly behaved boy. In this context he managed half a children's space disco Hmm Grin and no scraps the whole week.

moondog · 22/12/2011 13:53

I would also like to add thanks from me and DH. I have been on the SN boards for just over a yr, and this past 12 months have seen us getting a diagnosis, getting a Statement and DS starting school. This time last yr I felt like I was falling apart, and this yr has been very tough on us all, and DS is challenging and hard work, but here's hoping 2012 will settle down a bit.
Thanks to everyone for all the support and advice over the past yr, I really don't think we would have come this far without MN. Xmas Smile
Happy Christmas to you all and best wishes for a peaceful new year.

Triggles · 22/12/2011 19:57

Happy Christmas to all here. Thank you for all the support and advice we've received this year from everyone on this board. It has made such a difference for us!

DS2 just came down with chicken pox today (which will be followed closely, I suspect, by DS3 getting it). So it will be piriton and calamine lotion instead of booze and christmas cake here. Xmas Grin

Have a lovely Christmas everyone!
