Just heard from school ds is the inn keeper in the nativity play... Grin He has been shouting "NO ROOM HERE!!!!" at the top of his voice Grin.

well the instruction did say 'a loud clear voice' LOL Grin

Of course at the time he may say something completely random like 'i love my red ds', but he is there and he has a speaking part... I thought he would be a sheep or an angel, so he could wander off if he wanted... but I think they have really thought about this, because the inkeeper comes on, says his bit and then can go. (and it is only reception so it won't be too busy.. Hmm ).

Never thought I would get to see this... Grin we will wait and see what happens..... Hmm.

sign and ben10 that's fabulous, well done those boys Xmas Smile I've told dd3 I now have great expectations for her play next week Xmas Grin

Xmas Smile DS did really well. Not much singing but did some actions. Let another child lead him on stage for the shepherds bit - although he did stop mid stage and do a ASD stimmy flappy jig before sitting down (after a child tugged on his costume) Xmas Grin. I think that went down as cute over-enthusiasm. He managed to sit on stage through all of it yippee! Best bit was that he spent the whole time looking at me and was obviously so happy I was there. Wow! This was the same boy who 2 years ago looked right through me as if I didn't exist. So proud. And his ABA 1:1 got lots of fab comments from the teachers about how well he had done.

that's fab agnes Xmas Smile

My DS also had his Xmas concret today. He did beautifully, I was sitting there fully expecting head banging, screeching, running away....and he just stayed on the stage (albeit on a teacher's lap) and smiled like the angel he was dressed up as....It was lovely. I fully thought I would be rushing to pluck him off the stage as he ruined the DVD/photos for everyone else. In fact he was the smiliest angel there!!

Wow! well done all you little stars :)

DS is still a no go. Practice going on in the hall and he is singing the songs way way in the classroom on his own, whilst connecting batteries to light bulbs Grin

Then when I picked him up he said "mum I dont get it, I was born once but Jesus was born 3 times already this week!" Grin

What a lovely thread. DS in mainstream reception did his nativity today and yesterday. He was a page (think king without the crown). He lasted 15 mins yesterday, then I could hear him saying very loudly to his TA ' I don't love this bit', she didn;t get him out in time, cue loud scream and then he went out but came back in twice more and was there for the applause at the end, he lasted a bit longer today and again was in and out but he did it, and he saw me and was pleased I was there. I did have a few tears seeing him up there, bless Xmas Smile

'Jesus was born 3 times already this week!' - thats brilliant!

signandsingcarols · 08/12/2011 07:39

agnes and dudesmum that is fab news! well done your dcs, diet that's great, the fact he came back in, and he enjoyed you being there is brill. Xmas Grin we had to hide so he didn't notice us, (but I am hopeful for next year) and one of the (lovely) mummys said 'I noticed you hiding, so I tried to film your ds as well and will put it on a disc' Xmas Grin could have hugged her!

theDudesmummy · 08/12/2011 09:05

We hid for the first part as we thought he would try and run to us. Near the end we let him spot us, and then he did get up and walk around, smiling with delight. No shouting or running. It was great (amazing what little things can make your day!).
