Here we are again.... blimey where did the week go??? Grin. signlet is now 5yrs old. Had a lovely birthday on Tues, (got a new (to him) red DS). He was literally dancing with joy, Grin Grin. Took him to grandma's for birthday tea (where we all had to do the okey cokey) I have good photos.....

Tomorrow we have a family and friends swim (have hired the local hydrotherapy pool) I feel like I haven't stopped this week, but the to do list is a tiny weeny bit shorter, so feels like I have accomplished something Hmm.

How were all your weeks? I feel I ought to 'fess up' now that I am likely to drop out early this eve (as per usual) Wink but I do always catch up on the early shift saturday morning. Grin

Evening Sign

Happy belated birthday signlet! Glad he had a lovely day. Smile

I am just sticking my head round the door early, as off to pick up ds2 from the school cinema night in a minute, then I am going out to dinner! Shock

My Mum wanted all three of her daughters to go out to dinner with her, but the other two have fallen out, one has refused to come and the other discovered she'd double booked herself, so its just Mum and I now. Just to the local pub, but its one of these Gastro Pubs, so I've done a huge workout and saved my calories all day so that I can indulge! Grin

News this week is that ds1 has watched both the CBBC programme and the Math's Genius one and both were well received. He has been asking questions by the dozen about having AS and we've ordered several books. Some for him to read, some to read together. We've just had a lovely cuddle and chat while ds2 was out and he's very positive about the whole thing and says it has helped him to understand a bit more about why/how he is different, as before he couldn't work it out, thought he was the same as everyone else, but then got confused about why he got so upset and found things difficult when his friends didn't.

Other than that, his SA request still hasn't gone in, as I read it and decided I still wasn't happy and wanted to do more. I have all the evidence scanned in ready, but want to work on the wording a bit more, so dh and I are spending the day on it tomorrow with a view to it being posted on Monday.

Oh - gotta go, will be late for ds2.

Triggles · 18/11/2011 17:23

sign sounds like a good week! Happy Birthday to your DS!

I'm going to drop out early as well, but mainly because I've gotten in the habit of going out for a couple drinks with a small group of friends on Fridays (after the boys are in bed at 6:30pm), which gives me a bit of a break and DH is happy to sit home with the boys while they are sleeping and watch telly or play games on the computer. Win win for everyone. And if the boys wake up and DH gets stressed, I'm just down the street, about 5 minutes walk away, so not a huge problem at all! Even DH has said that he is glad I'm going out once a week now, as he thinks I'm much happier having the break.

So, as you can see, while we still are having good days and bad days, he is making a huge effort and so am I. Keeping fingers crossed that things can be relatively okay until his counselling starts in a few weeks.

Hope everyone has had a good week!

Triggles · 18/11/2011 17:24

Grin sign. Happy birthday to ds, hope you all enjoy the swim Smile and there's dolly mixtures left on the cakes sounds lovely!

moose, enjoy your evening out, am Envy not quite so much on the sa paperwork though Grin

triggles, enjoy your evening out too, pleased to hear you've got the counselling sorted for dh Smile

dd3's 1:1 was off sick today so we've one very ratty little girl here, she doesn't like having her routine changed. Not much use as we had to go to the eye unit to collect her new glasses after school, she was not happy. Otherwise pretty quiet, one of the many reasons I like her new school Grin

tooearlymustdache · 18/11/2011 18:35

evening all

i'm opening the wine sooner rather than later - my head is spinning, getting to grips with the way the health people and LA work Confused

happy friday everyone Wine

creatovator · 18/11/2011 18:41

Hi all,

Sign Happy belated birthday to your ds.

Moose and Triggles enjoy your evenings.

Ninja It's great having a good school Smile.

Our week's been great. Had Ds's review meeting on Monday and everything is going well. He's settled and up to standard for age and stage academically. We have to decide by this time next year whether to go for mainstream or mainstream with unit. Putting it off just now. His current school are still unpicking the effects of previous mainstream experience.

DS made some buns for Children in Need and sold them in school today. Dd helped decorate them. Thankfully no accidents and buns were still okay to sell iyswim Grin.

I've finished my xtreme knitting project. Got a big warm blanket. Now just doing cross stitch, getting ready for Christmas and doing my MSc.

creatovator · 18/11/2011 18:42

Cross posted.

Hi Tooearly and Becaroo

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 18/11/2011 18:42

oh yes looking forward to wembley becaroo, enjoy your evening Smile

tooearly, have some gin to go with that wine, it'll help, honest Grin

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 18/11/2011 18:45

creato, yay for school for you too Smile Knitting sounds great, going a bit slow this end!

creatovator · 18/11/2011 18:48

Ninja I had 50 stitches of 5 balls of wool iyswim and 10 balls of wool total, so it didn't take long really Grin. Just right for my boredum threshold!

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 18/11/2011 18:51

Hello all.

Happy Birthday, signlet, have a good evening Triggles, and Moose, don't eat too much.

Ninja, routine changes are a pain, did the school do 'Children in Need' stuff?

Hi tooearly, Becaroooo and Creatovator.

I had DS1 and DS2's parent's evenings. Both fine, but I haven't seen the SEN Dept for DS2 yet. I've a feeling I'll have to ask for a meeting, it won't come automatically, as he's doing well as far as I can tell. Smile

Gin sounds good, I've got some little cans of tonic in the fridge.

creatovator · 18/11/2011 18:54

Hi EllenJane Yeah for your DSs. Well done Smile

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 18/11/2011 19:02

Hi creatovator. DS2 is in MS but he's a happy chap most of the time and not an anxious child at all. He's average, academically, despite the autism. There are no units in my LA in secondary, just good SEN depts and bad ones... Really hard choice, just visit, ask lots of questions and look at old threads on here! It was pretty obvious which secondary schools had any sort of decent provision. It's harder in primary as they have less experience due to being so much smaller.

beingarebel · 18/11/2011 19:23

I've had a terrible week Sad. I can't post on here though, not private enough. I have posted off the beaten track, can anyone come and talk to me, I'm desperate. Please.

Sorry I've not read anyone elses post, very selfish of me but I'm really not able to right now Sad.

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 18/11/2011 19:26

Grin creato

ellen, think we're going senco way with ds1 soon, bad week for him, must get back to the thread. Good to hear ds2 is doing well, such a relief!

slowburner · 18/11/2011 19:42

Beingarebel, I'm so sorry you've had a rubbish week.

We have been at centre parcs, didn't know a 16 month could get so much from it although I think we will wait until she is a bit older before we head back. It was a bit crap in places and no decent food places but we self catered and breakfasted with the squirrels each morning. Toddler loved the ducks, and the squirrels, the soft play and the fun zone, although both highlighted just how differently she moves compared to other toddlers.

The pool was also too cold for her, tone or no tone, I was freezing so she was too! Normal toddler cold! Lots of eggnog coffee for me and milk and baby biscuits later we warmed yp. We have the next big review with the paed next week which I am dreading, intend to ask for a new physio.

Hope everyone has good weekends

LollipopViolet · 18/11/2011 19:45

Not a bad week, been on a uni shoot today, forgot how tiring they were. But the people whose year I'm joining in January seem lovely. Also enjoying my lovely relationship still, although a bit worried about my birthday and Christmas as I think BF wants to buy me jewellery, and I can't afford to spend as much so if he gets me something quite expensive I'll feel guilty. Although he knows my circumstances and is saying not to worry.

Ineedalife · 18/11/2011 19:48

Happy birthday mini sign, glad you had a nice day. Smile

We have had a much better week this week due to DGD now going to after school club instead of coming home with us. It has made a massive difference to Dd3. SENCO has had some great ideas to help with lunchtime tooSmile.

Oh and I went to my first support group meeting on WedSmile.

Glad most of you have had an OK week, sorry to hear you are having a bad one though beingarebel.

coff33pot · 18/11/2011 19:58

Hi all :) My lots of going out for drinkies and dinners! Have a great time of it Grin

Happy Birthday to little sign and I hope your DD3 has chilled out now ninja from her upside down day :)

Well done to your DCs Ellen!
Hugs to beingarebel xxxx I dont know what off the beaten track its I am afraid but hope you are ok x

Becs I hope next week means you use less tissues in your household and they all get better :) Enjoy the flicks! Went to see paranormal 3 with my eldest last week....................what a load of............yesssss

Well all ok here this week. Middle DD (10) got major jitters tonite as she volounteered to play the flute for children in need tomorrow. Turns out she is the only one from her school participating and has been told she is going up and doing it alone! She has only been learning a few weeks so its a huge step and Mum has the jitters for her now also major panick as DS has to come too and we just found out 200 people will be going Shock charging up his nintendo and mp3 player and soooo hoping it will help him handle the noise as I dont want to let DD down. Keep your fingers crossed for me will you!

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 18/11/2011 20:06

Hi coff33. Sounds like a tough assignment for your DD!

OTBT can be found in 'other stuff.' You need to be registered to see it and it's not permanent so good for convos you would prefer to keep slightly more private.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 18/11/2011 20:16

Slowburner, sorry your visit to CP wasn't so good. I always found the pools really warm, especially the toddler ones. My DSs aren't toddlers anymore Sad so maybe things have changed?

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 18/11/2011 20:22

thanks coffee, dd3 is lying on the floor with daddy playing bowling on the ipad so she's a lot calmer now! Good luck to your dd Smile

slowburner, hope the appointment goes well, these things are so nerve wracking aren't they?!

ineed, fantastic news on dd and dgd!

lollipop, jewelry sounds good, sparkly with lots of diamonds? Grin
