Evening all, how's the week been for everyone ?

I'm not sure where the week went... I can't believe it's Friday again... Grin College is going well, but the work is piling up... ds is off to his second birthday party with school friends tomorrow, am a bit nervous, (it's pottery painting) but I can whisk him away if all goes to pot Grin Wink.

I think I have finished the Christmas present shopping, and wrapped most of them, (sorry I know that is really sad Blush)....

I got so engrossed in a surreal thread in Primary Education I forgot to come back and chat with you all. Blush

I will be better next Friday.

Happy Birthday Triggles
How your DSis okay Moosemama

Triggles · 12/11/2011 10:45

Okay, am coherent enough to type now. Grin Had a brilliant evening. DH did quite well with the boys, thank goodness.

DS2 feeling poorly this morning, not sure why. Just watching and waiting at this point. I'll go back through and read the thread properly now.

Thank you for the birthday wishes! Hope everyone is doing well!

moosemama · 12/11/2011 12:25

Quick update - the Mum called and brought ds1 home at 1.00 am. He was in a terrible state. Sad He's a wreck today, lots of anxiety and sobbing because he feels like he let his friend down and also because he missed out on time to play with him this morning. Sad

So, decorating has been cancelled while we try to give ds1 as quiet and normal day as possible.

Triggles, so glad you had a fab evening and dh coped with the boys. Hope ds isn't coming down with something.

Triggles · 12/11/2011 13:08

I rather suspect it's chicken pox. No rash yet, but he's been exposed a few times in the last couple weeks. We shall see..... Hmm Although one of my friends is waiting impatiently to find out, as if it is, she is bringing her son over to expose him. LOL Funny!

Sorry to hear your DS1 is upset. Hope he's feeling better soon!

moosemama · 12/11/2011 13:27

Oh no, the dreaded pox. None of mine have had it - urk - I've probably just jinxed myself by saying that though haven't I!

I've had it no fewer than three times myself though. Hmm

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 12/11/2011 13:32

oh no moose Sad hope you manage a nice calm day for him.

triggles, hope ds is ok, dd3 has been around chicken pox a few times now and never got it Hmm

Triggles · 12/11/2011 13:40

DD, always managing to be difficult, has had it twice. Hmm I'm not certain it's cp, but he's got a fever, appetite off, generally feeling poorly... and as I said been exposed a few times in the past few weeks. So waiting to see if a rash appears. Incubation period is 7-21 days, so just waiting to see at this point.

moosemama · 12/11/2011 14:10

Thanks Ninja, I've already failed at that I'm afraid.

He was so outrageously horrible to his brother that I ended up losing my temper and shouting at him, upon which he went upstairs and zipped himself into his sleeping bag upside down. I thought he was just having a strop and was grateful for five minutes peace, then his brother went upstairs and found out he was actually stuck, but hadn't called out for help. Ds2 helpe him to excape and the he came down and said, "well I thought you didn't want me any more because I always cause fights". Sad I have now explained that I absolutely do want him here, I just don't want the fighting and he's now happily chomping away on his cheese on toast.

Its going to be a loooong weekend.

Ineedalife · 12/11/2011 17:36

Sorry you have had such a horrible day moose.

I hope your Ds settles a bit more tomorrow.

I have stopped feeling sorry for myself and had a day of washing and ironing. Dd3 for some bizarre reason know only to herself has spent the day tidying the toy boxes in her bedroom.LolGrin.

coff33pot · 12/11/2011 18:15

Tidying the TOY boxes? Shock I like that idea! Grin

I too hope your DS has a more chilled day tomorrow moose after a good nights sleep tonite bless him. He has really been through the wars lately.

Off now to take DS & DD to see Tin Tin. DS doesnt know and wont till we get there as he is fine inside but gets too worked up and over done if he has to prepare. DH is actually coming along! First time we been out ALL of us since last year. Damn just realised I will have to share the popcorn nooooooo!

See you all later x

moosemama · 12/11/2011 18:19

Thanks folks.

Ineed, your dd can come round here and do my boys' room next if she likes! Grin

Coff33, enjoy your movie night - eat some popcorn for me. Grin Ds1 loves Tintin, but there's no way on earth he'd ever watch the film. Must check if there's a graphic novel of this one out yet, as he'd love one for Christmas if there is.

Triggles · 12/11/2011 18:22

tidying toy boxes?? send her my way!! We've got duplo blocks all over the floor here! Grin

DS2 has been laying on the sofa literally ALL DAY. We finally forced calpol into him to bring the fever down as it's been slowly creeping up all day. He's drinking weak squash (only because I've basically insisted) slowly to keep from being dehydrated. No rash showing, so still up in the air as to what's wrong.

coff33pot - enjoy the movie!!

signandsmile · 12/11/2011 18:36

Hope the spots come out, (if they are coming, IYSWIM), Sorry to hear the night did not go well moose.

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 12/11/2011 19:04

oh dear moose, he's just very wound up isn't he, sure tomorrow will be better.

triggles, good you got some calpol into him, poor chap.

can I sign up for a good tidier upper as well please Grin

moosemama · 12/11/2011 19:22

Is it worth trying ice lollies at all Triggles? They were a godsend when ds2 had pneumonia a couple of years back, also ice in his drink bottle when he will drink help.

Ineedalife · 12/11/2011 19:33

I would be delighted to rent out my tidier upper ladies. The only thing is I have not idea who she is or where she came fromGrinGrin.

Triggles, sorry your Ds is feeling porly, hope he feels better soon.

Ineedalife · 12/11/2011 19:34

Gosh awful spelling tonightSmile.

Triggles · 12/11/2011 20:44

moosemama no, he won't touch ice lollies or ice cream or anything very cold. Sensory related, I think

coff33pot · 12/11/2011 21:13

Not long back from the cinema! and it was money well spent :) DS did very well, he had been on and on about Tin Tin for weeks but as it was a pg I was waiting to see comments from other people first. It was funny as we met DH at the cinema from his work and DS said "hi Dad" and just followed him into the cinema. Chose his slush puppy and it wasnt until we were actually sat down that it dawned on him we were inside watching Tin Tin Grin

Didnt realise it was 107 minutes long! Thankfully we took his mp3 player for the talking boring bits. Few jumps when people dropped a drink and something else behind us as he doesnt like the dark but not a big fuss seeing as he was wedged inbetween us. What was funny was he was using this other little boy as a cue to laugh. Everytime the little boy laughed he followed!

Now cuddled up with dad on the sofa demolishing whats left of the popcorn and watching wizards of waverly place.

Moose.......I would imagine there must be a book of some sorts seeing as the wii and ds games are already being advertised. Unfortunately they are a 12 so probably a bit over the top in the gun department for my ds seeing as he is only 6.

moosemama · 12/11/2011 22:33

Oh that's a shame Triggles. It was just a thought. Smile

Coff33, glad you had a good time at the cinema. Smile

I had a quick look on Amazon after I posted earlier and apparently its two different books to get the whole story. I've popped them in my shopping basket, along with about a million pounds worth of other stuff for the boys for Christmas. Have spent the whole evening costing up presents, trying to get them from as few places as possible to save on delivery and still haven't actually bought anything.

I don't let ds have 12 rated DS games either, although we have found out this very evening that Plants vs Zombies is a 12. We allowed him to download it from the DSi shop and the parental controls are supposed to stop him being able to download anything that's above his age rating. Hmm Both him and ds2 have been playing it this week and love it. I only found out it's a 12 because ds2 asked for the actual game cartridge for Christmas. Blush

coff33pot · 12/11/2011 23:13

We got the same trouble. DS likes Ben10 TV is ok, so are the DVDs but they bring out the game and its a 12 Confused I got him the lego ones that are 7 because otherwise he is stuck with pepa pig!

Went all over Tesco Direct last night and had a scare at the cost of the lego!! Hogwarts castle £102!!! I would like to but with 2 more to think of its a bit much. So splitting mine with some moonsand, tub of lego and building things called zoobs? Also looking at geo mag and meccano and all this totals to about £100 so better option given his age. Sounds bad but you really got to hunt for anything that is value for money nowadays. DS needs a new nintendo on top but game have got trade in offers so I am hoping to take one of his old wants in for a bit of discount.

I dont think it was scary justa

The main reason it was a PG I think is the fact that there was a seafaring scrap with fisticuffs but it was done in a funny way. There was a shooting at the beginning where Tin Tins door was riddled with bullets and a man fell through dead ish but there was no show of blood n guts. On the boat there are baddies with guns too, no one actually gets shot apart from the first man I mentioned and even the villan doesnt look scary as he is just a pirate, and they have a sword fight.

DS loved the first pirates of the carribean though and Harry Potter the PGs. So he loved the scrapping and thought it funny. :)
