my problem is working full time - but will see what is suggested.... slack of me I know.... but I feel I see so little of dh and dd as it is....

Eulalia · 20/10/2003 18:12

I am too far away from everyone...

chatee · 20/10/2003 18:13

love the idea....it would be a very long journey for me but would do my utmost to attend

lou33 · 20/10/2003 18:24

I'd try my best.

fio2 · 20/10/2003 18:30

Where is Davros? I thought she would be on here by now organising us! I suppose if it would ever happen it would have to be central to the majority of people who would want to go. I dont drive either so for me would have to have rail or public transport links. I am in the midlands, 1hr30mins from central london which I wouldnt mind doingSmile If it is too much we would have to have a 'virtual' one after allSmile

Here I am! We've got half term this week so I'm a bit more intermittent than usual! I don't know, its a lovely idea, why doesn't anyone who's interested state their limitations as some already have? I'm in fairly central London, I drive so what about somewhere between London and the Midlands? Any ideas? Suppose this would not be good for a lot of us I'm sure (Jimjams?) Mind you, I also seem to have a disorder that makes me want to meet new people, join groups and talk non-stop so don't necessarily listen to me

My limitations are it would have to be a fairly simple rail journey (we have inter-city(is that what they are still called?) links anyway). I dont mind about steps as I would nag the rail staff the help me on and off the train/platform etc..Smile

chatee · 20/10/2003 20:37

mrsforgetful · 20/10/2003 21:37

I'd like to come...i'm near BATH so can get train fairly easily- would love it to be a SEN friendly place so the kids can come too- i 'dream' of them meeting others 'like'themselves....shame it's not summer....the local autism unit /outreach centre dis a mass picnic in september- but we need to find something under cover! I reckon we should hire the NEC!!!!! (HaHA!!) Seriously maybe we could all help pay for a more modest venue...not the Albert Hall this time!I suppose my limits would be bristol-birmingham- london- sothampton- in a circle!!!

oops! a bit OTT!!

ThomCat · 21/10/2003 10:04

I'd love to meet up. I work 4 full days and Fridays are spent at hospital, visiting pre-schools etc but if given warning I could keep a Friday free.

doormat · 21/10/2003 10:06

I would love to have a meet-up but unfortunately I cannot be away from ds for very long as I am his main carer nor could I bring him with me
I hope all of you/ if not all some could meet up as it is a wonderful idea.

Caroline5 · 21/10/2003 20:57

Where are you doormat? Maybe we could meet very near you? I could do London, West Country, Midlands, S Wales. Hope we'll be able to sort something out, doesn't look easy

Fio2 · 20/08/2004 15:59

I am resurrecting this, as there is more of us now, and would love to have a SN meet-up, it would so cool (!) So what do you think?

OP posts:
Davros · 20/08/2004 16:05

I'd love to Fio, I'd been thinking about it too going on from the where do you live thread.

Fio2 · 20/08/2004 16:08

well I'm up for itGrin someone suggest something please, i have never been an organiser! I will go and look at the loactions thread and see what we can do. I would have you all here, but I know it will be a bit far for some people, plus I dont have a field like beety, just a courtyard, but we have a beach at the end of the road which might be useful Wink

i will go and look!(at the thread!)

Dingle · 20/08/2004 16:33

I know I am very much still a newcomer, but I would love to meet you lovely ladies who have enlightened my life- I am no longer alone! (sad isn't it, when you have all these people around you but you find some of the people who understand you the most are complete strangers!)
I hope I'm not intruding!

Fio2 · 20/08/2004 16:36

Dingle EVERYONE is welcome newcomer/oldcomer, doesnt matter. This a SN meet up! lets have a discoGrin

OP posts:
lou33 · 20/08/2004 16:37

I'd like it too, but is it possible seeing as we are all over the place?

Fio2 · 20/08/2004 16:45

I dont know, we have to think about practicalities of it all. Are any of us rich? could one of us afford to rent a hotel out of all their downstairs rooms so we could all stay? and say, have a function room? with maybe a sensory room on-site? Wink

putting that aside where can we all get to on the train or drive to?? Atm I can get into London, either charing cross/victoria very easily and then I wouldnt know where to go from there! but I could maybe sort myself out enough to get somehwere! I am trying to scan the locations page but have to keep refering to my map book, my geography is crap, I must admit, so it will take me a while.

Has anyone any practical solutions?
