How's everyone's week been? there have been ups here (night in tent great sucess) and downs (didn't even get interview for job I thought I was perfect for... ... oh well).

Today bought water pistols for ds and grampy, very very funny to watch small boy and OAP chasing eachother round the garden, not sure who had most fun.

Last tutorial session tomorrow, and marking last essays, so quieter times are coming (ha ha!)

In BSL you sign happy with flat hands rather than into your thumb iykwim.

I think so ellen, happy in bsl is much more like a soft clapping. It's all happy one way or the other

H is working hand palm down wiping forwards over supporting hand palm up.

Happy is the reverse movement twice.

Mr tumble signs it towards himself into his sticking up thumb (on supporting hand). Wich is happy in makaton and signalong. Whole different meaning in BSL.

Makaton was designed for users who wouldnt be introduced to the rude terms, so not rude to them. Obviously it means happy.

Interestingly as BSL is directional which way round you sign the 'lady bits' sign can indicate whether it is your own 'ladybits', or someone elses..
