Ages since I started one of these.

Evening ladies.. RL have been a bit busy but tell me all so I can catch up here with you folk.

Wine is on the table, nibbles are out and I'll be back later when I've done the hits that need doing :)

Mine is creator! I had to ring school and ask for a year of accounts, ring local football club and ask them and ring an old nursery that I used for 2 months and ask them! The nursery said they had had 15 requests already!

moosemama · 10/06/2011 22:00

creatovator, to be fair, ds1 is scared of all big movies, particularly Disney extravaganzas as well. The Wallace and Grommit thing stems back to them putting on the one with the penguin when he was in Year 1. He was terrified of penguins for ages afterwards and has always refused to watch Wallace and Grommit ever since, even though I did my best to reassure him they didn't all have scary penguins in.

He was a bit shakey with the sheep in Piggleywinks for a while, but at least he'd watch that.

Great plan on the being good now so you can be naughty later - I like your style. Grin

Ninja, other than frankly appalling eating habits, that I should be thoroughly ashamed of, I have been taking good care of myself and getting plenty of rest. In my defence, despite my bad diet, I have managed to keep up with my omega oil and supplements.

Ineedalife · 10/06/2011 22:07

Ellenjane... it is shoe inserts that Dd3 will get I think although I am thinking I might put her in boots aswell to give her some more support, I will ask when we get the appointment.

I have no idea how long we will wait, she could do with them for when she has new school shoes in September really so fingers crossed.

I have read in loads of places about ASD children having lax joints/hypermobility but no one seems to want to say that they are linked and I don't suppose there is any money for research.

Moose I do Guides because I love it, it gets me out of the house and we do have a laugh, it can be hard work but it is extremely rewardingSmile.

I have a feeling tomorrow could be extremely soggy tooGrin.

Chundle my Dd1 got one of those on Tuesday, it sent her into a complete panic. She struggles with money but is very honest and getting a letter saying she may have ben overpaid has really upset her.

Luckily DGD's day nursery have written her a letter stating all payments have been made to them.

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 10/06/2011 22:08

that's good to hear moose.

complete nightmare having to dig out all the receipts by the sounds of it, like you don't already have enough paperwork!

time away is sounding fab creatorvator

creatovator · 10/06/2011 22:12

Chundle - Nightmare. Think you need plenty Wine and lots of chocolate to keep you going through this. Might help it all to make more sense too Grin.

Moosemama - Understand completely. My DS can't cope with that Train DVD which NAS produced to help with understanding emotions... what was it called again?

The thought of getting to be naughty later is the only thing that really makes me keep to healthy eating for any length of time now Grin. When I turned 40 I decided life was too short and put on a dress size over the next couple of years. Not that I recommend that to anyone. Glad to hear you're getting plenty of rest.

moosemama · 10/06/2011 22:20

Transporters! Oh I totally get why he couldn't cope with that - it gives me the heebees.

I've gone up a dress size in a year. Its been all downhill since I broke my ankle this time last year - but I'm determined to do something about it now and looking forward to getting moving again when my new shoes arrive. Hoping to be at least a stone lighter when we go on our summer hols.

My grand plan starts Monday - straight after what is looking like being a rather strained and stressful meeting with about a gazillion teachers and professionals at ds1's school!

Triggles · 10/06/2011 22:23

justabout - pm'd you

ninjagoose - thank you so much for the info in the pm!

I'm sorry about my outburst earlier. I'm a bit teary, but thank you so much for the support. I do feel sometimes like I'm shouldering all the stress and responsibility (appointments, therapies, research, paperwork, housework, etc) and yes, we've sat down and discussed this before. Clearly it needs to be brought up again - even though I was pretty blunt tonight about it. Anyone else get tired of having to be the "hub" of it all? I just feel like I'm juggling far too many balls in the air all the time. It can't be just me though - so many others on here seem to have quite a bit going on - perhaps they are just coping better than I am. Blush

I think that I will tell DH that I want some time tomorrow to play the piano uninterrupted as well as having a nice soak in the bathtub uninterrupted. Those are good de-stressers for me. I'm going to demand them. Grin

creatovator · 10/06/2011 22:24

That was it! I don't like it either. How long before you go on summer hols. Up here in not so sunny Scotland the kids finish in 2 weeks. We don't go away until last week in July though.

You're very brave starting your grand plan after stressful meeting. I admire you for that.

moosemama · 10/06/2011 22:27

Don't apologise Triggles, that's what we're here for. I just wish I could do something practical to help.

I don't think its a case of some coping better than others. I think it all moves in cycles and we are all just at different points in the cycle. We all have times when we cope, times we are clinging on by our fingernails and other times when it seems a little easier - tis a mean old rollercoaster this SN thing, that's for sure.

creatovator · 10/06/2011 22:29

Triggles - good for you! You're allowed 'me' time otherwise things would fall apart.

Yes - I go through down times like that too. I tell myself it's okay to not cope every so often. Sometimes people appreciate all that you do more after you've not done it for a couple of days.

Triggles · 10/06/2011 22:29

oh dress sizes... not wanting to even think about that... I lost a huge amount of weight 3 summers ago (2 weeks in the hospital with a serious bowel condition, no food for 10 days, only fed by IV .. not fun). Can't say I'd recommend it as a diet though. Grin Since then it's slowly come back on (ok, having a baby probably didn't help, but honestly only gained 7 pounds during the entire pregnancy) - I think it was the comfort eating after having the baby - I'm not horribly healthy when stressed. And stress has been constant for the last 2 years...

My DD invited me to go along to her zumba class and I nearly wept with laughter. As if I'm going to get up in a room full of 20 somethings and dance around in work out clothing. Um... no.... However, as she is looking at training to be an instructor for it (long history of competitive dance, so very dance oriented), I figure she can then give me private zumba classes at home. Grin My very own trainer. I don't mind looking foolish in front of just her. Grin

creatovator · 10/06/2011 22:34

Triggles - I've heard it works wonders, but haven't given it a go. I got a book out of Morrisons a couple of years ago giving 6 mins toning exercises each day in the morning before breakfast. Said you see results in 2 weeks. I did and have been doing that again recently Grin. In toning my tummy a little I find I feel fuller sooner, so don't eat as much. Still too scared to weigh myself though Sad.

moosemama · 10/06/2011 22:34

The boys break up in 6 weeks, but we're not going off straight away. Am dreading all the end of term nonsense we have to get through with ds1 first.

I may not be that brave come Monday and have just realised it was a daft plan, given that there'll most likely still be quite a lot of birthday cake left over!

Who asked, what cake I'd asked for - was it Ninja? Well, obviously I'd love a big fat chocolate cake, but given ds1's extreme reaction to even the smell of chocolate and the fact that he's helping to make it, I reckon it'll be a plain old gluten free victoria sandwich (gf so he ds1 can eat some). When I do birthday cakes, I usually make a gf one as well as a gluten one, as gf cakes are never really the same - too grainy.

The boys were delighted to find my stash of various coloured sugarpastes this afternoon - so heaven knows what the icing is going to be like. I have bright yellow, baby pink, red, black, white and brown left over from various cakes, plus a selection of gel food colourings - I can't imagine what they're going to do with that combination. Confused

Triggles · 10/06/2011 22:35

our scale is broken. I'm in no rush to fix it. Blush That being said, I'm more concerned with how my clothing fits than how much I weigh... seem to recall something about muscle weighing more than fat anyway, right?

creatovator · 10/06/2011 22:39

Definitely Triggles - Muscle weighs more than fat, so good excuse/reason to stay not so fit. Don't want to overdo it Grin

Moosemama - I can just imagine Grin. Will the kitchen be lovely and colourful too?

moosemama · 10/06/2011 22:40

I only was a stone lighter after I had dd, than I was when I got pregnant. Then lost more bf for 18 months, then broke my ankle a month later and ended up stuck in a cast for 9 weeks and was pain and unable to walk (but plenty able to comfort eat) for months after that (still hurts now). Hence my current resemblance to a walking blimp. Blush I am so cross with myself for putting it all back on - but its no good dwelling on it now - I need to get my butt off the sofa and do something about it.

Private Zumba lessons sound great! I was considering buying one of those celebrity exercise videos in my desperation - I think dd would love trying to do the exercises with me every day. At the moment we are just managing the odd bop about to some of our favourite music tracks, strictly behind closed curtains you understand. Blush

moosemama · 10/06/2011 22:42

creatovator, omg! I hadn't thought of that. Remind dh - on pain of death - to leave the kitchen as he finds it. Grin

creatovator · 10/06/2011 22:44

I admit I was doing Slim and Salsasize with Rosemary Connelly DVD for a while. DS loved joining in. I felt a difference in my fitness after that, but didn't notice much difference in my weight.

I reckon you'll love it!

creatovator · 10/06/2011 22:46

Moosemama - My DH does lots of cooking here, but boy is he messy. He's a wonderful cook and I keep having to remind myself that it's worth all the mess I clear up as I don't like cooking that much. however, clearing up the mess comes a close second to not liking cooking.

creatovator · 10/06/2011 22:48

Moosemama - ref previous post - You'll love the private Zumba lessons.

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 10/06/2011 22:50

I'm so crap at exercise, I have at least 4 left feet I'm sure Hmm dh keeps threatening to buy that zumba thing for the xbox, really can't see it being my thing some how, I have no sense of rhythm either [sigh] although I need to do something as my weight has got way out of hand in the last couple of years. May be we need our own sn weight loss thread?

moose, cake is cake though Grin I think I'll take a guess that they'll use a little of all your lovely icing colours Grin

creatovator · 10/06/2011 22:51

I think that's me for tonight. My eyes are beginning to droop and I hear an apple calling. Read somewhere this week they're meant to help you lose weight.

Night all.

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 10/06/2011 22:53

night Smile
