Yay I get to start the thread again! (I am def not a night owl, so I need to get in early Grin)

well, we went to the seaside, and ds was a star! had a few days in a caravan, (I made the rule no shouting in the caravan, we were quite close to others, and I said 'the man' from the caravan park would be cross. and hey presto quiet(ish) signlet!

had an proud mummy moment on way back, as little voice in the back said 'I wan sea! I wan sea, I sad!!'

recognising his emotions yay ds! Grin

Altho had a Blush moment too, as ds gets more speech he is getting more echoalia, I made wrong turn, said SHIT! and little voice from the back said 'sheet!' Oops Blush. have not had to worry thus far, but will now have to monitor speech...

Got statement review next week and oodles of marking for work, but have made a HUGE list and so feel more in control, (sad I know).

How has everyones' week been?

Apricot cheeecake?

Sounds delicious. My DH came home with a Wispa. twas lush.

Smug, she sounds like a nightmare. I agree with Starlight - you will probably need to take your data protection request wider and include any/all the people she's likely to have had contact with in reference to your ds.

I am what most people would consider to be a lentil-weaving, sandal wearing, vegetarian hippy, but I can muster the energy to vote (not telling who for) and I'm not a vegan! Wink Grin I have a great picture of her in my head now. Did she wear a lot of beads by any chance? Grin

Creatovator, than you for posting. We're all in the same boat on here really, we all have our battles to fight, mine are no bigger than anyone else's, they have just been, shall we say, a bit in my face this week.

Its one of those weeks where I am so grateful that the weekend has finally arrived Grin and that's in spite of having a big family party tomorrow, with the side of the family who refuse to acknowledge the reality of ASD in their family and therefore have not been told about all the problems ds has been having at school, let alone his dx.

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 20/05/2011 22:33

my dh came home with 2 kids, I must be doing something wrong Grin I'll let him off though, he did go to get them from scouts.

I'm off to bed, night all Smile

smugtandemfeeder · 20/05/2011 22:34

When she first arrived I was at my wits end. DS was 1.5 and had never slept. She was supposed to save the day. After one hour of tellling her about the situation she said she would see us again in two weeks. I asked her what we should do about DSs sleeping. She actually said the words

"whatever you like really"

WTF?!!

This is cathartic.

Sorry about the vegan rant moosemamma. It was tantermount to bullying Grin

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 20/05/2011 22:37

Good luck with it, smug. I know a SW who sounds exactly like your 'friend', does she have her nose pierced?

Night all.

moosemama · 20/05/2011 22:49

Mine brought an extra long Dairy Milk here, not my favourite, but so appreciated. Smile

On a lighter note, I thought I'd do a quick link to one of the videos of the festival we went to last weekend - see if you can guess who we are in the crowd! This year, dh, dd and our friends are in it by I'm not.

This is last year's - we are in this one in three different places but if you blink you'll miss us!

moosemama · 20/05/2011 22:51

Smug, not at all - all in taken in good spirits!

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 20/05/2011 22:58

Moose, you really are a family of hippies, aren't you?

moosemama · 20/05/2011 23:07

We are hippies in disguise during the week, although I think all the snotty middle class people that live in our village see through our cunning ruse! Grin The blooming great rusty VW on the drive kind of gives it away for a start!

Proper hippies would call us weekend warriors - we don't quite fit anywhere really. Wink

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 20/05/2011 23:20

Moose, you fit right in here! It's nice to find somewhere where we all feel at home.

Well feeling slightly more positive because I've decided to take action. SOSSEN have agreed to fund the first action of their solicitor to threaten a Judicial Review and as ds is 16 he may well qualify for Legal Aid in his own right so may not have to fund the rest although we will if we have to.
It's been pretty satisfying to compose my own snotty email informing them that I will be instructing my solicitor to begin the process on Monday after getting emails implying that I'm being unreasonable to remind them that ds leaves school on Friday.
Hopefully what with that and the MP's letter that will get there Monday morning too I should at least be on their to do list on Monday Grin

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 22/05/2011 18:07

Well done asdx2 and good luck. Keep us informed, (I'm nosy.) Smile
