Thought I'd get the ball rolling...

How has everyone's week been?

the sign household have experienced the continued visitation of the snot fairy... (see week before last!) but 2nd lots of antibiotics are seeing her off at last...

ds has been very floppy, (which does mean he is incredibly cute and cuddly, and I am guilty mummy for liking all the cuddles! Blush)

I have to work tomorrow Sad, but do get to see my lovely students Smile.

I have opened the wine and started the 'extra/spare' easter egg that 'fell' into my basket. Blush

A mixed week here, a triumph on Monday when ds saw the psych at CAMHS after a huge amount of preparation and stage management by home, school and psych ds managed a 30 minute appointment and even spoke at times.
Not sure whether that was his limit for the week because he has been increasingly stressed and unhappy since. Wednesday and Thursday he was foul and growling but seems better today although still stressed.
Dd has been her usual passive self, didn't really appreciate the red nose day at school and sleep hasn't been great but ds's never is so one more doesn't make much difference.

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 18/03/2011 20:21

have a good evening sign Smile

moose, those are absolutely fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HelensMelons · 18/03/2011 20:22

Yes, cheers Ben10; evening everyone. Mixed week for most of us I think. ds2 has been off school for a couple of days for St Patrick's Day and had a much better day today at home suiting himself. He has been lovely and cuddly tonight!

Have been formulating plan for dd3 who I am a bit worried about so have purchased phonics books, smelly spelling book and fish oils, we'll see how we get on.

Handing round mini cream eggs, yum ....

moosemama · 18/03/2011 20:24

Thanks, I was rather pleased with how they turned out. Smile

Smartiehouse · 18/03/2011 20:30

Sorry for gate crashing(?) you sound like you all know one another. Blush

Been having a bad week with dd1 (4) who has no diagnosis but lots of asd tendencies.

Feeling low, but your posts and comic relief helping to give sense of perspective....

hello smartiehouse, pull up a chair, there's wine gin and chocolate on offer tonight Smile

Smartiehouse · 18/03/2011 20:35

Sounds good.

Bawling in front of the telly with sad stories not a great alternative!

Always bring smarties :)

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 18/03/2011 20:42

well you're most definitely welcome then Grin

DietcokeGirl · 18/03/2011 20:49

Hi, am new here this week and have already had some good advice so thank you!

I am swapping diet coke for wine tonight.

It sounds like some of you have had a very challenging week so hope you can have a little of what you enjoy tonight. It's 'escapism' tv at 9pm for me!

moosemama · 18/03/2011 20:54

Hello and welcome Smartiehouse.

Sorry to hear you have had a bad week, hope you have the chance to recover and regroup over the weekend.

Do they still have blue ones in Smarties?

Ds1 is refusing to go to bed, saying he's too upset and instead patrolling the house round and round whilst intermittently going red, shaking with rage and muttering to himself. I'm actually starting to get a bit dizzy now what with all his cirumnavigating the living room. Nothing will convince him that a nice snuggle with his bunny and some sleep will help him feel better.

Its not often he gets this bad. We may have to resort to letting him read until he falls asleep with his book on his face - could take hours and several books. Hmm

moosemama · 18/03/2011 20:56

Hello DietcokeGirl - what's on at 9.00 then? I could do with escaping meself!

Am studiously avoiding comic relief, there's already far too much emotion in this house tonight and have already sobbed when I found out about Edgar's little boy and then again over some of the Japan news stories.

Smartiehouse · 18/03/2011 20:59

Ah yes, blue smarties. But the 'new' hexagonal packets are most disappointing.

Will be walking 20 miles at the weekend training for the Moonwalk. Tiring but a very welcome break from my lovely dcs.

DietcokeGirl · 18/03/2011 21:00

I thought Benidorm (bad I know) was on! It isn't.

I can't watch comic relief...have made a donation though.

EllenJane1 · 18/03/2011 21:15

Hello all. Welcome Smartiehouse, hello again DietcokeGirl. Sorry there's been so much puke and snot this week. Next week has to be better Moose.

I'm a bit late tonight as my big brother and SIL have been to visit after a day at the races, so it's been beer and curry here.

My week has been pretty good as I had an encouraging transition conference for DS2 going to secondary in Sept. Then not so good when I weighed him and he's lost 2lb in the last year. Not much but he should have gained 5 or 6! So on the Complan.

(Helps self to the Smarties and a large G & T.) ( def not gifted and talented)

DameEB · 18/03/2011 21:17

Evening all - bit of a mixed week here too!
Had good long chat with Head following our major complaint and things seem to be improving a bit. Ds's class are in big trouble for bullying and a couple of staff have been spoken to about inappropriate remarks. They have also observed certain children 'winding him up' (about time too). Well see how things go but ds has said he's a bit happier so that's some improvement.
Moose sorry to hear about your ds - hope complaint gets the desired result.
Also heard this week that I will be losing my job as will dh. Bit complex but we work for same company and will get no redundancy payments so am busy trying to plan a future lol. Am trying to be positive.
Hope you all have a good weekend.

Ben10isthespawnofthedevil · 18/03/2011 21:20

Have just gone and given DS an extra long kiss and fuss and water and book etc etc following Edgar's request Sad

moosemama · 18/03/2011 21:27

Smartiehouse, - absolutely, hexagonal smartie tubes just aren't right.

Ellen, glad the transition conference went well, but sorry for the weightloss. We have the same problem with ds1. Bizarrely the paeds didn't think it was an issue that he was 2ks lighter this January than he was 12 months ago. Confused

DameE, good to hear the school are finally starting to take notice and up their game. Hope things continue to improve.

So sorry to hear about job losses though - and both you and dh, you must be worried sick. I hope you both find new jobs really soon.

moosemama · 18/03/2011 21:29

I gave all three of mine a huge squeeze with tears rolling down my face and they all looked at me like I'd lost the plot. Sad

I think the whole of Mumsnet is in shock.

IndigoBell · 18/03/2011 21:35

Hi all,

Yesterday when I was really depressed I wrote an email to the SENCO asking for a meeting about DDs lack of progress. I got an email back from the HT agreeing to a meeting - and asking me not to email when I was so depressed Blush

Then of course tonight and last night DD appears to be so much better - making a mockery of yesterday's complaint Blush

I feel like a right twat now - and I've annoyed the staff which I never meant to :(

On the plus side DS coped with losing 1 minute of golden time. This has been hanging over him and agitating him all week - I was sure he'd have a melt down.

EllenJane1 · 18/03/2011 21:39

I think I must have missed Edgar's request?! Awful situation DameEB. Hope you can sort something out soon.

Does DS have a superman thing going on Smiley? Can you get a big stairgate put up?

On a lighter note I'm still grieving after watching Being Human.

moosemama · 18/03/2011 21:42

Indigo, don't feel bad, you did nothing wrong.

Fwiw, I don't think it was appropriate for the HT to say that to you. Whether or not you were feeling low, doesn't have a bearing on your dd's lack of progress or the fact that it was necessary for you to prompt them to arrange a meeting to address it.

moosemama · 18/03/2011 21:44

Oh no! Don't tell me Ellen - I am about four episodes behind at the moment. I'm guessing its Mitchell, but no - don't tell me.
