Friday Night too tired for...

Tonight I am too tired to be arsed going to work tomorrow.

I'm guessing as no-one's started this yet that none of the "old crowd" are about at the moment Sad so I'll do a brief intro...

The "Friday Night" thread is for everyone with an SN kid stuck at home. Vent here if you've had a ruck with a head teacher, or bad news from an ed psych, or your little wonder has done something utterly spectacular that no one with an NT child would understand.

Pink wine is open, help yourselves Smile

Hi Pidj.

DameEdnaBeverage · 18/02/2011 18:56

Posted too soon lol. Was going to say hope you had a good week.
Mine was very busy with work, school meetings etc. Ds had trouble with bullying yet again but this time there were independent witnesses so the bully couldn't say they didn't do anything! School have been very good in taking appropriate action and as this has been a long-standing issue are also involving the Police now.Ds relieved that something is finally being done so is a lot happier now.Looking forward to a 'relaxing' half-term. Hope everyone else had a good week.

andperseand · 18/02/2011 18:59

Too tired to work out why DS has decided to spend the whole evening spitting at us all. I have completely and utterly run out of patience and ability to do anything.

Got his dx of Aspergers, demand avoidance, anxiety, and ADHD type symptoms 2 weeks ago. Was ok at first, after all been fighting waiting for it for 2 years, but suddenly feel I have ground to a complete halt. Just want to lie down and sleep for a very long time.

Daft of me really as good stuff happening too. LEA backed down before tribunal and SS we named has confirmed they can meet his needs so a lot to be grateful for.

White wine open here, and the tin of Roses which was on offer at the supermarket Grin.

Ineedalife · 18/02/2011 19:01

Dd3 had chicken pox so the week started stressfully for us, she coped relativly well and has now bounced back [big style].

She was not at all disapointed about missing a week of school Grin.

Going away on Monday for some walks on the beach and some fresh airSmile can't wait.

DameEdnaBeverage · 18/02/2011 19:02

Hi Andpers - glad you have some good news for ds. Know what you mean about feeling tired - must be the time of year. Can't wait for it to warm up a bit. Will have a choccy -ta.

bigcar · 18/02/2011 19:03

joining you on the half asleep front purple, ds2 got up at 4.30 this morning and it was inset day.

IndigoBell · 18/02/2011 19:03

DD spelt 'it' correctly last night! And 'was' and 'the' Shock

DS had major meltdown at school yesterday :( The worst one they have seen - and it shocked them quite a bit. Just when he was doing so well.......

intothewest · 18/02/2011 19:05

Hi all-mixed week here-some pretty awful behaviour ,and I've been feeling ill-glad it's half term !I'm off to start the bedtime routine-I'll pop back later-I'm still off the Wine-but tonight I would have enjoyed a glass....or two

moosemama · 18/02/2011 19:10

Evenin' all!

Shitty week here all round, to much crap to bore you all with by going into details, but at least for one most of it had nothing to do with ds1. Ds2 (who is still not well at all) on the other hand ..... let me just say, GP or rather GPs - arse - elbow! Angry

Still, its Friday, half term, we have absolutely no plans for the weekend whatsoever and we're all looking forward to a few pj days next week.

DameEdna, so sorry to hear your ds is being bullied. Glad to hear they are taking it seriously though - ds1's bullies only got dealt with once they slipped up and there were witnesses as well. Hope he has a great holiday and can go back to school without having to worry the week after next.

purplepidjin · 18/02/2011 19:11

Ooh, excellent news DameEdna My week has been pretty stressy really. Work was utterly manic compounded by it being my mon-tue-wed run which always seems to make me too tired to think straight. Of course, wed afternoon had to be the only sunny moment of the week so i ended up taking Dude off to Bournemouth on the train for a McDonalds. Feeling so tired you want to hurl is not the time to take a 20st man in a wheelchair on a train to the hilliest place in a 10 mile radius!

Andper, chuck a teatowel over his face when he starts spitting. Loosely, not like a gag! At least then it's easy to clear up Grin This works best when they're restrained and can't just brush it off...

Yay for Ineeda's feeling-better daughter.

Wine for everyone - I like this emoticon

Ooh, my big positive for the week is all my orders. 20 dribble bibs, 10 awaiting payment; a steampunk victorian/edwardian coat in fleece for a teen; and some tiny hats and booties for ickle babies Grin

Well done Indigo's dd on the excellent spelling.

Sounds like your ds is more than ready for his half term break. Hope he manages to relax and recover over the holiday.

Into, I'm still off the Wine as well, so we can teetotal together this evening.

Not doing so well on the diet other than that mind you and feel justified in consuming chocolate tonight - after the week I've had. Actually, somebody mentioned Haagen Daaz on another thread and that's made me really crave ice-cream now as well. Blush

signandsmile · 18/02/2011 19:14

hey pidj, well done for getting it started.

week been ok, ds has discovered cbeebies website, Grin and have taken delievery of 3 sand timers so can have a 15 min 'slots' he also has his own pair of ear defenders now, (arrived today) got the sense toys catalogue and basically want to buy nost of it... Grin.

Hi to all, hope your weeks have been ok, I'm on the cider (as a good west country lass) Wink

andperseand · 18/02/2011 19:16

Hi DameEdna - help yourself, but be quick if you want a fudge!

Yes, we are very pleased with the good news. Had planned to make a big announcement on here, but it was all mixed up MN SN being in a bit of a hiatus and I kept quietly out of the way!

Getting the LEA to back down was one of the finer moments in my life - I was not sure they would, but after the meeting I knew I had given it my all and could not have done better. maybe it is becasue there is no more fighting that I have flopped!

Really glad they are taking the bullying seriously. Have things settled a bit for DS generally?

signandsmile · 18/02/2011 19:17

ps we too have the hit the 'half term tiredness' but it does mean his head has hit the pillow and all is quiet... Grin

Al1son · 18/02/2011 19:18

andper I can empathise. Got DD1's working dx of AS turned into a real one yesterday and it's almost a year to the day since the CAMHS psych first suggested he thought she had it.

Hit me like and express train even though I've been desperate for her to get it.

Fish and chips for tea round here but I'm moving on to chocolate PDQ!

andperseand · 18/02/2011 19:21

I am too slow typing!

Will try the tea-towel next time, thanks Purple. I have a one handy over the rising dough (only good thing about being stuck at home day after day with DS - lots of baking!)

At the momment he is in his room because I am ashamed to say I threatened to break a precious DVD if he did not go, how awful is that (don't answer that, i am cringing as I write).

From the sound of everyone's week we definitely need spring to hurry up - not more snow as forecast here!

andperseand · 18/02/2011 19:23

Thanks Al1son - it is hard isn't it. We are telling him tomorrow. He has more or less worked it out for himself anyway, but DH has been away most of the last couple of weeks so it hasn't been the right time.

purplepidjin · 18/02/2011 19:24

Sign I'm holding off the actual sewing until I get the actual money - I still have a weighted blanket awaiting payment from before Christmas Confused

Oh, and I recorded a demo today so i can start looking for gigs Grin

Al1 it's chicken and chips here, homemade by DP Grin I'm feeling like a very lucky girlie!

Break may be seen as slightly OTT, & but removal of privilege as a consequence for undesirable behaviour is pretty standard practice. Therefore YANBU!!!!!

OP posts:
Al1son · 18/02/2011 19:29

purple how much do you charge for your weighted blankets?

I've had the poly beads for one sitting her for months but not been brave enough to start making one yet!

bigcar · 18/02/2011 19:31

I might be interested too purple, not just yet but may be in a few months Smile

Al1son · 18/02/2011 19:34

OMG DH has had a phonecall asking him to go for an interview for a really good job! Actually asking him to go straight to second interview and I think he may be the only candidate.

He really needs to get away from the bunch of w***s he's currently working for who cut his salary by a third and stopped paying his expenses.

Could our luck be changing?

bettyboop63 · 18/02/2011 19:47

I use marbles from the local toyshop! You need about 6 bags for a 3-4 stone person lol. I sew each marble between 2 sheets of cotton, then personalised fleece outer. £40, then the postage on top was £14.99 last one I sent Smile
