Some of the information posted on here recently has found it's way on to the Times educational Supplement website without the OP's permission.

Other information has been used to identify a professional that is involved with the child of a parent on here - again without the OP's consent.

PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT YOU POST.

I have reported both incidents to MNHQ.

I hope they take action.

MEANWHILE - PLEASE BE CAREFUL.

I couldn't see a link between the TES and MN but haven't ventured into the SN boards up until recently so not familiar with the poster concerned.

Just wanted to say that

1 - its very low to post about someone elses situation without their permission, and

2 - thanks OP for the reminder - I've had to name change a few times to try to retain my privacy as I tend to post quite specific stuff that pieced together would identify me and my DC

DLIguy · 10/11/2010 21:45

Wet August, This thread was pointless because the two events you mentioned in your original post were or are not connected as far as I can see.

2shoes · 10/11/2010 21:49

no this thread is not pointless, even if people can't see the link, it is always good to remind people that things they post in this topic can be used in bad ways and to be careful.
so never pointless.

londonone · 10/11/2010 22:33

I do think there is a certain irony as previously regular posters on the SN board have copied and pasted directly from emails from professionals that have been sent to them privately. As a professional I have expressed that I did not feel that was appropriate and have been shouted down. To me this seems far less of a breach of privacy after all MN posts are made on an open public forum.

Once someone has written a report, the recipient of that report has every right to ask for help in decoding it, IMO. Perhaps if these reports were written in a more transparent way (ie. actually explaining not just results, but their significance and their meaning within the wider context), then parents wouldn't need to come on here asking for help.

It is a very different thing that someone who is effectively eavesdropping on a conversation then repeats it.

If the person who is doing this is who I and others suspect, it makes it even more damaging, IMO, because they are a generally unhelpful, inflammatory influence on this board, which has developed into a safe, supportive environment for parents and carers to share, give and get advice.

If professionals feel affronted that they are being discussed, perhaps they need to find a more helpful way of reporting the needs of children in their care.

2shoes · 10/11/2010 23:09

IMO the whole problem seem to me, that whoever posted someone else's problem on another forum(which I assume is what happened) didn't do it to help the original poster, as if it was to help, they would have told them.
they did as some kind of weird attention seeking act.
where as if I was to C&p a letter from a professional on to here(taking out any names or such things that could identify sender) I would be doing it to get help or to help someone else.

My God, now we have londone joining us again! This is trolltastic!

Welcome back. How have we managed all this time without your usual inflammatory trolling?

This reminds me of the bad old days when I used to venture outside this board into the judgmental hell of AIBU land Grin

And , you see, that's the difference here really. We post here because we have a great little community of supportive parents going through similar problems and we help each other. We try not to judge. We are sharing information with each other and not the world. We kind of have an unspoken rule of 'if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all' and it works fabulously.

I know that entry requirement will be way too tough for you londone, so feel free to waive GOODBYE!

Isn't it strange? I mention Lucinda and immediately get a response from DILGuy. can't be any connection there then Grin

And what does DILGuy post - another defence of the TES leak by Lucinda. How strange. No connection there then Grin

DILGuy - you maintain there is no link between the 2 'leaks'. How do you know? I take that as positive proof that you are Lucinda. Only she knows what she leaked.

What offends me most Lucinda/DILGuy is that you have not apologised - once - for your unacceptable behaviour.

You continue to post on here as though nothing has happened.

You just don't 'get it' do you?

Wet august. Your ability to twist and misinterpret and misunderstand simple English is astonishing.

DLIguy · 10/11/2010 23:51

WetAugust You have not named the thread titles of either thread on this SN Forum which you refer to in your OP.

WetAugust · 10/11/2010 23:51

Cheers DILGuy for that compliment. I learnt it during my dealings with the LA.

It's obvious from your one-line posts that you think you're on Twitter.

You're actually on MN.

What's your agenda DILGuy?

WetAugust You have not named the thread titles of either thread on this SN Forum which you refer to in your OP.

And......???

You logic is flawed.

You say the 2 threads are not related and then complain I have not identified the 2 threads.

Try to keep some consistency - difficult i know with all your alter egos - but try.

OP posts:
DLIguy · 10/11/2010 23:59

The two threads both have a different OP.

Have you sought permission from both those OPs before you published this disruptive thread?

WetAugust · 11/11/2010 00:01

The two threads both have a different OP.

Oh - well spotted.

Have you sought permission from both those OPs before you published this disruptive thread?

Actually Yes - I did.
Did you - before you leaked?
Only you think this thread is disruptive. Most correct-thinking people welcomed the warning.

DLIguy · 11/11/2010 00:03

There is no evidence that anything has been "leaked"

Yes there is - you're just too thick to find it.

Now be a dear and bugger off.

Wetaugust, question already asked and not answered on other thread. There is no agenda. We are just suspicious nasty people.

WetAugust · 11/11/2010 01:05

Cheers for enlightening me Giveme

I shall give up flogging a dead Lucinda.
